A popular feature at SCT, we’ve shortlisted the most SC-relevant players for you as a handy guide (mainly those owned by 3% of teams or more, with a few exceptions).
For the Supercoach newbies out there, the Breakeven is the score needed by each player to hold his price. If they score above that Breakeven value, their $$ value will rise. If they score below that Breakeven point, they will lose value. Sorry if I’ve overlooked something. Be sure to let me know in the Comments below and I’ll update it as soon as I can. If you have any questions about Breakevens, don’t hesitate to ask in the Forum and I’m sure our friendly SCT Community will help out.

giving serious thought to trading macrae to fyfe now that bevo has seen fit to play macrae in the fwd line the last 2 weeks , serious price drops coming
Madness
Madness…? THIS IS SUPERCOACH!
But yes jokes aside this is not a good idea….seems SC produces all sorts of mad ideas.
sheed almost back to his starting price
Adelaide plays 5 of the next 7 @ adelaide oval ,
O’brien making a serious case for R2 before his bye trade out
Only way O’Brien would make a serious case for R2 is if you don’t have Gawn and Grundy.
Thinking of bringing in your boy Daniel Rich Daniels
Thoughts
i have gawn & grundy
lots of pts being waisted @ R3 though
Strange logic. If you’ve got Bines on your forward bench, you could do Gawn to a forward premo (or a Mid/Def option if you have more DPP’s to chain). If you don’t have Bines, you’re needing to trade Gawn down to a non-playing ruck rookie, and then using the money to upgrade another position (because sitting on a $500k bank would be monumentally insane).
Gawn + rookie.
vs
O’Brien + Premo.
And you’re down either one or two trades. Then at least one more to bring Gawn back in later (which is still going to cost you $250k minimum, possible more).
You gain 25 points per week with ROB over another rookie. But does the premo you replace Gawn with cost you part of that gain? What if they average 15 points less than Gawn? Then you’re down either two or three trades for a net gain of 10 points per week for however long (call it a month before Sauce comes back in and you need to ditch ROB. Even if the premo option matches Gawn, you’re up maybe 100 points total. For 2-3 trades.
Cannot see any way this plan would be worth your while.
It’s 3 trades from rookie to premo anyway
Yeh I have vines fwd
Was thinking Gawn roh & then Boak into the fwd line
Bring back the best ruck @ the byes with roh & a 150-200k rookie
Will cost me 3 upgrades to effectively get boak
Would cost me that anyway
Ran the numbers.
Gawn to Boak = +$55,000
O’Brien (@$400k) to Gawn (@$645k) = -$245,000
Shortfall = $190,000
So your third trade needs to get you $190k to cover the trade back up to Gawn.
Alternatively.
Keep Gawn.
O’Brien (@$400k) to Boak (@600k) = -$200,000
If we assume Boak and Gawn will continue to score similarly, then you’re gaining 20-30pts per week for a month, with O’Brien over a forward rookie, but it costs you an extra trade. Is a trade worth 100-120 points? I don’t think it is.
Like that you’re trying to be aggressive, PJ, but this one feels like a miss to me.
need to make up 600 pts on the leader . thinking outside the box is required
Do you get 60 trades a year PJ, while the rest of us get a lowly 30?!
Iv used 6 trades in 6 rounds
Hardly running out
2 promo downgrades already
My rooks arn’t ready to cull yet except for butters 2 weeks ago
To me every player is just a $ figure
They’re all tradable for profit
I hear you. And agree to an extent, sell high and buy cheap, but having Grawndy and considering messing with that is clearly not the way to go. Enjoy watching ROB go up another $50k this week, and 40 the week after and …
I have enough problems on other lines. It’s a blessing and reassuring having one line that is ‘settled & forgotten’. For now!
I didn’t see the doggies this week but if Macrae really is playing up FWD, I can see why you’re tempted given potential future losses. And Fyfe is nicely priced. Not an approach I’d take, but if it were to continue for the remainder of the season (unlikely given Mr Magnets history), it’d be a masterstroke as you most likely won’t want to buy him back. That is a very unlikely scenario though, you have to agree surely?
As Schwarz says below, get your upgrades done, then start tinkering!
Good luck whatever you decide! 🙂
Hey PJ,
Call me old fashioned, but upgrading your rookies to premiums faster than your opposition seems a better move than these luxury trades you’re suggesting. I’d only start trying those sort of moves once I had a “full team”
Be nice in a perfect world mate
But following the pack is for those happy with a 30k rank
I like your thinking PJ, but I cannot stop thinking of the madness about the reasoning. Then again, Madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.
So If you are planning to have a full premo early, how do you generate the cash? the cash cow are surely not mature right?
Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box, that’s what this Forum is here for 😉 In the end, you do what you think is best for your team. Good luck PJ!
Think it’s more about gambling with your upgrade targets that will see you rise in the rankings.
Eg FWD upgrades:
Rather than going for Daniel and Boak say, like everyone else, and picking two of say Cameron, Marshall, Greene and Daniher and them paying off in spades is what will set you apart from the pack. NOT side-trading a premo cos he had a sh1t week!
Didn’t trade Heeney out > happy
Didn’t trade Dunkley out > happy
Didn’t trade Williams or BSmith out > happy
Got a hunch on a pod upgrade? Go for it and good luck!
Toby Greene?
I know he hasn’t set the place on fire in his two games so far but a low Be of 49. High risk high reward but he’s a bargain top 6 fwd if he gets back to his best right?
If Whitfield pulls up alright and doesn’t miss any games he’ll come in nicely for Duursma in a couple of weeks.
This might be the week I welcome Tim Kelly into my team
Collins to
TU Rich
Td Crisp
When upgrading I am looking at players who will be top 6-8 at seasons end, neither of these will be top 6 DEF.
Backline always kills me to get right
Always end up compromising
I Usually aim for 3 best promos & the rest scoring over 80 each week
Am struggling with the backline big time.
No rookies to bring in is killing me.
Now stuck with Collins, burgess and Clarke.
I see your point about rich and crisp.
Could fork out for Lloyd but will come at the expense of the mids.
I’m also sitting on Scott, Atkins and Setterfield.
2 weeks of missing the Richmond bubble boys was a mistake and has set me back.
Was aiming for Hately and didn’t see him getting dropped.
Going Fyfe instead of Lloyd leaves me some play money to move on more rookies next week.
Hoping Hately gets named this week cause I’m not likely the chance of any def downgrades at this stage
I hear you Willy.
I must point out though, It this stage its more about how much they score from here on out.
Rich may only average 100 and still finish just outside the top 6
He did it last year.
Crisp over Rich for me.
Sorry.
Half my post went missing.
Crisp could Ave 100+
Rich could Ave <90.
Overall rankings mean little, It's what they score from here!
Spot on FT. Crisp could easily be Top6 from this point forth.
I believe Crisp could be
Different path – hold Collins for another week.
Libba & butters out
Fyfe and Hayes in
120k in bank
Joe Daniher at $277,800 and BE of 23.
He might make some decent $$ or eventually become F7. T/u
This is a crazy stupid idea. T/d
If you have a fwd non playing loophole like bines
Go for it
He will have some low scores & some good ones too
