Captaincy Candidates – Round 15

Captaincy Candidates

Brayshaw v Dons

L3 v Dons: 137, 129, 132

L3 @ OS: 130, 96, 154

L3 MID v Dons: 155, 114, 159

Have on odd feeling the Dons belatedly compensate for last week’s on ball belting by tagging this week but Brayshaw’s form and numbers more than enough to assuage that concern.

Jackson v Dons

L3 v Dons: 48, 134, 78

L3 @ OS: 100, 163, 111

L3 RUC v Dons: 63, 146, 59

If you’ve got Jackson here, you must VC him tonight. Goldy and Darcy out. Going to let loose.

Smith v Lions

L3 v Lions: 81, 102, 85

L3 @ GMS: 118, 154, 108

L3 MID v Lions: 110, 108, 93

Hard to predict when Smith puts up a VC/C worthy score given his erratic DE but entering a strong stretch at Kardinia Park.

Holmes v Lions

L3 v Lions: 127, 98, 76

L3 @ GMS: 152, 128, 134

L3 MID v Lions: 110, 108, 93

Tacked Holmes on here too given his immense numbers at KP.

Xerri v Blues

L3 v Blues: 144, 109, 90

L3 @ MCG: 150, 111, 57

L3 RUC v Blues: 68, 68, 90

Won’t go insane but still mighty serviceable as always.

Bontempelli v Tigers

L3 v Tigers: 135, 153, 122

L3 @ MRVL: 66, 101, 140

L3 MID v Tigers: 123, 115, 156

Time for the big man to repay the faith after we all sold the farm to get him!

Richards v Tigers

L3 v Tigers: 163, 89, 88

L3 @ MRVL: 138, 111, 106

L3 MID v Tigers: 123, 115, 156

Prefer Richards to Bont this week. Hate that I haven’t finished my side with Ed The Red Diamond.

Steer Clear

Butters v Swans

Jordan targeting HBs lately but the Swans have also resorted to Rowbottom playing defensively on ball recently. Butters good enough to break him but I’d be taking an unencumbered option this week.

Daicos v Saints

Windhager. Pass.

Verdict

Bray into Bont. The two of them plus Xerri is meta this week unless you’re blessed enough to have Jackson or Richards. Anyone got both?

  1. I know the stats don’t back it up but I’m so tempted to whack a VC on JClark tonight, just remembering the pantsing BDale gave Essendon recently. The brave me would take Clark into Dale; the real me probably taking Xerri into Bont.

  2. Brayshaw VC didn’t come off, so who to go.

TU: Xerri (up against dual rucks Pitto & TDK, though TDK will likely spend plenty of time forward).
TD: Bont (not captain worthy last few weeks but great record against Richmond).
