Captaincy Candidates – Round 16

Captaincy Candidates

Butters v Blues

L3 v Blues: 98, 98, 84

L3 @ AO: 130, 101, 53

L3 MID v Blues: 108, 94, 81

Think there will be a bunch of negating match ups but just in case, here are Butters’ numbers. Suppose Port’s season hanging by a thread could give him some upside?

De Koning v Port

L3 v Port: 140, 109, 74

L3 @ AO: 80, 118, 140

L3 RUC v Port: 159, 126, 81

Really nice one here for TDK owners who took it on the chin last week. Pitto dropped. Visentini and Sweet are a fleece-able duo.

Bontempelli v Swans

L3 v Swans: 109, 135, 131

L3 @ SCG: 109, 131, 101

L3 MID v Swans: 130, 68, 140

Rowbotton put the screws to Butters after a hot start and Port opened with a HB tag on Rozee. So thinking they look at maybe Dale and Richards? Although last week’s thunderous performance might warrant a straight look for the big man.

Xerri v Hawks

L3 v Hawks: 123, 144, 75

L3 @ UT: 123

L3 RUC v Hawks: 126, 127, 110

Should be a nice middle of the road outing for Xerri. Nice and safe this week.

Daicos v Eagles

L3 v Eagles: 147, 123, 125

L3 @ MRVL: 157, 107, 129

L3 MID v Eagles: 127, 137, 129

Some talk of us using Hough on Daicos but still a gorgeous match up. For those with DCam, he’s also a shout – maybe even ahead of Daicos, to be honest.

Dawson v Tigers

L3 v Tigers: 117, 110, 101

L3 @ MCG: 132, 124, 55

L3 MID v Tigers: 177, 123, 115

Similar profile to Bont with that big frame and SI economy, so love Dawson here off the bye to shred the Tiges.

Jackson v Saints:

L3 v Saints: 64, 154, 61

L3 @ OS: 186, 100, 163

L3 RUC v Saints: 156, 115, 110

If he gets the nod solo again, then Jackson will go large once again at Optus.

Steer Clear

Gawn v Suns

Witts, sharky Suns midfield. He can of course pull out some wild stuff but it’ll be an uphill battle.

Dockers MID v Saints

Just reckon it’ll be too tricky to split Bray/Serong and you’ll kick yourself with the C on a tagged player, even as poor as Windhager was last week. Reckon select from above and hope Serong and Bray avoid or break the tag.

Verdict

Daicos into Jackson on my end. Like the VC to guarantee a look at Daicos or perhaps provide insurance on the Hough tag. Him into Dawson should be pretty meta. Not expecting a high ceiling round.

  1. Any love for Anderson vs Melb? His last 3 vs Melb are 109, 122 & 189

At this stage I’m thinking Anderson into Naicos taking 125

If any stats around Melb record vs mids & Anderson last 3 at PFS would be appreciated.

    • Hey, Hynsi.

I’ve got him as well. Just a little worried about a Sparrow or a Viney match up. Especially after his 42 touch, 2 goal performance last week.

Although I’m always paranoid about my own players. Here are his numbers:

      L3 @ PFS: 146, 89, 102
      L3 MID v Dees: 101, 95, 117

*deployed tags to Daicos and Butters
