Collingwood Team Preview 2026

Who better to ask when it comes to Collingwood but me mate Scobey. Check him. out on X ( twitter ) @Scobey_ . You also really need to check out his article on how the new rules might affect SuperCoach in 2026. Some high class analytics right there. So Collingwood eh. Can Nick learn to deal with a tag ? Will the Pies find a way to bounce back into Finals contention ? What’s in store for Collingwood in 2026 ?

The Lock

Nick Daicos ( Mid ) $628.400

There’s not too many things left to say about Nick, he’s clearly the best player at the Pies, probably top 5 in the comp. We will all want him at some stage in our Midfields. looking at how the new rules might affect Midfielders, is only bringing positive news as well. Now here’s where it gets tricky. Can Daicos junior start dealing with the tag ? Will he be significantly cheaper at some stage ? How much damage might he do before then ?  Can you safely Captain him? At his price you kinda need to. I’m leaning towards fading him due to his super early round 2 Bye. If you love ya Pies and just wanna Lock Daicos in and enjoy the ride. I get that too.

The Dark Horse.

Jordon De Goey ( Mid Fwd ) $321.100

On paper we have a guy priced in the 60’s capable of going 85+ available in the Forward line. He will most likely play a fair bit of Midfield. Yet somehow It feels very much like a trap. SuperCoach is a funny game and sometimes these kinda risks pay off. You just gotta ask yourself, Do you feel lucky ? With his R2 Bye you could wait to see how he starts, but then you’re trading into an injury risk. I’m a little risk averse for this one, but it could certainly work.

Dan Houston ( Def ) $431.500

Not sure what to make of Dan TBH. Could he have really fallen so far. Seems to finding it hard to even get on the training track of late. Verified Premium if he can somehow manage to find form. Keep an eye out, but he seems miles off for now.

Breakout  ( Premo to Uber )

Darcy Cameron ( Ruck ) $602.300.

Weird to put Darcy here, but without a stand out Breakout candidate , I’ve decide to see who might get to that next level. Darcy certainly qualifies as the 5th best Ruck last year with a healthy  111.3 average.  Cameron allegedly turned down big money to head back to WA. He chose a chance at success with the Pies, and honestly if the Pies are to return to the glory days, Darcy will need to be a big part of it. Often mentioned as one of the Ruckman least likely affected by the new rules, Cameron currently sits in only 4% of SC teams. Luke Jackson is basically the same price and he’s sharing the ruck duties. Maybe the early Bye is putting some off. If you want a solo ruck with a bit of built in Value I don’t mind starting DC.

Josh Daicos ( Def ) $525.400

Transition football seems like the buzz work atm.  Will the Pies let Josh lose in the Midfield, and try and run the Opposition off their feet ? I owned Josh for heap of last year, and it’s impossible to forget his 198 in round 18. This score included midfield time and didn’t Joshy boy just pig it up in there. Unless Houston can get his act together I feel Josh might still be need in defense. If all goes well though and the midfield time develops, there’s a fair chance “The other Daicos” could crack the top 6-8 defenders at year’s end. Josh is currently 7% owned at time of writing.

The Rookie

Reef Mc Innes ( Def ) $155.900

Injuries, positional changes, its impossible to predict what Reef could do. If he gets a role though, he should be on our radars. Scobes also mentioned

Tyan Prindable ( Mid ) $113.500 and Harvey Harrison (Fwd ) $126.000

Pop them on the Watchlist and see if they can secure decent roles in the Pies starting side.

Well thats it for my magpies review. I’m sure Scobes will be more than happy to reply to any Pies based questions you might have, so stick em in the comments below.

Thanks for reading

Cheers FT.
