2286/Butters, could have been 81 better but for my Rookie Roulette luck. Happy enough, Gulden/Marshall injuries to monitor…Poopoo will possibly become Cook…Blakiston a watch as well, I’ll watch another week, enough $$$ to go to Houston price range…
Absolute worst start in twelve years, beating my 76k last year.
Some speculative picks didn’t pan out (Draper and Rivers) and my mid POD in Brayshaw didn’t show up, and Pou , well everyone had that bad luck, and could’ve had an extra quarter from Erroll.
McCarthy, Windsor, Budarick and Young OK for the price, but was hoping for more.
Not gonna say there’s always next year just yet !!
Made a big mistake of putting Lombard on the field instead of Robertson expecting a massive walkover, so that extra 50 points probably cost me being in the top 10,000.
Also got Gulden and Marshall injuries but dodged a couple of others from Heeney and Pou.
The GWS midfielders were amongst my worst. Budarick not much better. Picking Clark over Serong was also a fairly huge fail after the Round 0 free trades.
Had 10 of the top 12 best breakevens at the end of Round 1 from 12 rookies. None of the worst 14 (got Butters at 15th) out of my premiums which I see as more relevant than exact positioning right now.
I’m thinking just the one trade this week for the unfortunately Gulden. Really tempted to do a second trade but holding fast on that at present.
2347/Butters
Positives: Sticking with Bont when he was in and out all pre season; picking Zerrett; Murdock in the squad (who would have put him on field), Bruhn and Smith effective M7 & M8, mid/ruck/fwd lines all fairly solid Pou aside who affected everyone
Negatives: Butters (C), D2-D5 underwhelming, decisions to be made this week. Considering Fonti
I got spooked by the Young chatter last week and decided to bring in the GnR side.
Heroes – Nandos, Naicos, Sheezel, Petracca
Villians – Dawson, Richards
Frauds – Brayshaw, JClark
Mistakes – Benching Roberton and Murdock for Lombard and Grlj
Thoughts – The Poo needs a strong showing next week or will be let go
Heroes: Bont, Trac, Bruhn, Sheez, English, Naicos, etc
Villians: Grundy – his 89 was disappointing, Whitfield – 70 is a long way from his best
Mistakes: Murdock but who would have known he’d have tonned up!
I had quite a few mid scores on field, but managed to pick up nearly all the goos rookies including Murdock ( bench ) which is great.
I just need to decide if I want to go a week early on Cook.
2492.
Heroes – Petracca, Bont, Sheezel, Daicos, Sinclair, English, Serong, Anderson
Villains – Oliver
Coach errors – Murdock and Marshall on bench
You had Murdock! Well done
Scobey talked him up in his team reveal. I did it mid-round to make enough room in the kitty to get Oliver -> Jackson correction via Flex spot.
2311 Bont
Regretting Cameron > Jackson ruck decision as a POD. But easy fix.
Not sure what to do with Archie Roberts. Possible downgrade to Windsor.
Not sure if to wait another week for Murdoch?
I’m sure there is a Cow Rule about waiting for him to be on the bubble
Yeah there would be but if you’re replacing an injury it makes sense. That’s what I’m doing.

As well as Cook played, Rankine is back so someone has to give way, not sure who. Could be Pedlar, and Keayes had a mare but wont get dropped.
2347 (C) Xerri
Injury list: Gulden, Phillipou and Marshall

what was the story with Rivers TOG%? unbelievable.

had the same issue with Lombard.
don’t worry about rank yet. it will sort out after round 6

2357 Anderson..
Robertson and Marshall on the bench. Lost 50 points with Lombard on field.
Looking at Dyson to Murdock this week as a corrective trade. Like most coaches hoping Marshall and Poo injury updates are good.
Was hoping Bont got off to a slow start, but looks as if he won’t be getting cheaper any time soon.
2373 for me.

I have Cook, but have hedged my bets by bringing in Rankine!
