  1. 227k in the bank. My worries are pretty self explanatory ;( any opinions and advice are very appreciated. Would love multiple opinions!! X

    1. Not that bad, Charlie.

Maybe consider Daniel -> Ridley and Koschitzke -> Jones this week. Plugs your D6 hole, moves on Daniel and gets the #1 DEF into your side.

Would have suggested Daniher -> Waterman as well, but holding onto him might be okay. Should fire up v his old side this week and can clear his 47 BE.

You’ve then got a solid backline and all the must-have rookies, should be set from there.

      Good luck.

    1. Jordon had about 56% TOG against the Cats and is in danger of being dropped this week – cash production is not there either. Great call I’d say.

  2. Currently ranked 24,564 (worst start in recent memory).

Trading in Brayshaw for Cripps over Impey for Dow a couple weeks ago is giving me nightmares.

Not sure where to go now with Daniel underperforming (and his upcoming suspension). Considering Ridley but will cost me a cow (probably Campbell).

    Any help appreciated!

    1. Provided you haven’t been burning trades, I’d roll with the same set I suggested to Charlie:

      Daniel -> Ridley

Kos -> Jones (can wait a week as you DEF is solid)

      Good luck.

      1. Thanks mate.

        Unfortunately trades are a’ burning.

I’m down to 25 and will need to burn two to get to Ridley.

        1. Maybe go with Jiath then, could be a bargain keeper if he can average 95+ or you could Hold Daniel and trade Kosi to Jones to avoid a donut

        1. Please provide reasons as to why you think he would a hold with some evidence possibly..

His role seems to have changed with Bailey and other 2 defenders i cant remember names of right now taking majority of kick inns and rebounding..

Personally dont know where he gnna playing moving forward and possibly gets dropped like johannisen did.

          1. So much panic with Caleb on here

So far this season he’s had one crap game, one below average game and two good games – last year he averaged 100 and scored between 70-130 every week, very consistent and I’ve got no doubt he’ll get back to that once he’s back from his one week ban. One of the best kicks in the league. I’m holding.

    1. I don’t think Daniel is your biggest issue mate so you probably need to keep him imo and get rid of Neale before he loses you more money and points.

Neale to Ridley (swing Laird mid) Sharp to Jones (bench Daniel)

Next week, you can still grab Waterman who I reckon has good JS (trade Dow) or Treacy on his bubble, also good JS and you will need him at some point when you want to trade out Flynn

      0

      12
    2. Daniel to Ridley. Jones/Treacey pre bubble if you need extra cash which means cull a cow.
It’s a bit late to move on Neale and most of the others.
The rest of that side will come good as your cows fatten up. Be patient Grasshopper my son.

        1. Agree with the above. I’ve held Neale, when again in hindsight I should’ve moved him last week.

We have lost too much value in him, so any trade to Ridley now is at a cost of $200k value, with Neale lost $140k and Ridley up $60k.

Ridley is still a buy at his price, but I think holding Neale is the best course of action.

          6

          1
          1. Why? If Neale keeps scoring the way he is going then it’ll cost you more than that to correct it in a few weeks……. Take the loss and jump on a player that is scoring well and will do so for the remainder of the season….

            0
        2. at $583 currently he is a hold because – he could end up averaging 105 – 115 atleast from here on which means he is priced about right. as said by Telescopix cox its at a big cost to trade now and pre much sideways chasing points.

    3. Daniel to Ridley. Jones/Treacey next week.
It’s a bit late to move on most of the other other like Dow and Neale.

    25 trades left & 38k bank

    – I’ve started off relatively well ranked 3000 but have absolutely rued the decision of switching Ridley to Daniel after the nab match. Currently my concerns are with Daniel, Cripps, Campbell and Jordan. Jordan and Campbell are both rookies who are struggling to get any decent tog and their cash production seems much lower than anticipated. Is the best move this week to trade Campbell & Daniel to Ridley and Waterman this week? Hurts to have to cough up the extra 150K to upgrade Daniel but even his main role of kick outs have been reduced this year

    1. Pretty much the same issue Luke – ranked top 1500, 26 trades left and no cash in the bank ($200!)

D: Laird, Stewart, Short, Daniel, Jiath, Clark (Kosi, Highmore)
M: Steele, Oliver, Bont, Merrett, Mcgrath, Taranto, Gulden, Powell (Jordan, Berry, E Smith)
      R: Gawn, Flynn (Meek)
F: Dunkley, Tex, Ziebell, Impey, Warner, Campbell (Rowe, A Scott)

I figure to keep my ranking up, I need to trade Daniel to Ridley and Campbell to Waterman (but will only have $9k) – my other option is hold Daniel, trade Kosi for Lachie Jones and Campbell for Waterman (155k)

Would love to hear other suggestions or comments on my options. Thanks

      1. I think option 2 there. Hold Daniel, trade Kosi to Jones but I would trade Scott before Campbell. Think he has better JS and scoring ability

        1. Thanks Alza.

Have decided Daniel isn’t worth keeping and I need to keep scoring so Daniel to Bowes, Campbell to Waterman for me (gets me a current top defender and $120k in the bank)

Agree Campbell has better JS than Scott but his BE of 71 is tough and I’ll have Waterman/Rowe who will make money, have good JS and can score similar to Campbell.

    1. Nice team! I would say target Waterman for maybe Bergman if hes not named. If he is picked as the sub like he has been it could really wreck his future cash growth. Hold Daniel and field Butts unless you don’t think Daniel can bounce back

  7. Would appreciate any help – I started with the right rookies, but also have had to deal with Danger, Rowell, & Young. Have $71,500 ITB

DEF: Ridley, Laird, Stewart, Daniel, Clark, Chapman (Kos, Highmore)
MID: Neale, Oliver, Merrett, Brayshaw (Freo), Gulden, Jordan, Berry, Rowell (Scott, McNeil, Sharp)
    RUCK : Gawn, Grundy, Flynn
FWD: Dunkley, Dusty, Ziebell, Impey, Warner, Campbell, Rowe, Fullarton

Main concerns are wishing I hadn’t kept Neale, wishing I’d chosen Short over Daniel, Walsh over Brayshaw, only having 4 mid premiums, and not having patience to see my rookies fatten up enough to deal with the shortcomings.

    1. Maybe Kosi to Jones. Have to go early to avoid a 0. If you like Waterman then could use Fullarton or Sharp depending on how you value their DPP

    2. Lisa, I share you pain…..for your Danger, Rowell and Young, I offer Danger, Caldwell, Heppell, aand Draper who I haven’t been able to move on yet. Heppell at least playing now. Also have Daniel. Traded Flynn out to avoid a donut…went for Marshall for the dpp !!. Cox about the only thing I have got right other than the usual rookies. Adds up to the worst start I can remember.

  8. Hi chaps
Rueing the decision to keep Neale!
Also upgraded a donut rookie to Day, just before he got injured. Waste of 2 trades. Burning trades and need to use 2 to get Ridley…

Any tips on a cheapie Mid that will come good? Want rid of Neale now and have to trade Kosi to get the cash but thinking he’s got more potential in him than my other rookie D’s.

I’m fine to cop a donut on my bench, too many issues on the field to be tightening up my bench.

    Def: Howe, Laird, Buckley, Highmore,
    Cox, Mills (Kosi, Chugg)
Mid: Neale, MacRae, Dusty, Merrett, Zorko, Gulden, Campbell, Young (Robertson, Maginnes, Bruhn)
    Ruck: Grundy, Flynn (Amartey)
Fwd: Dunkley,. Hawkins, Tex, Ziebell, Warmer, Daniher (Dow, Jones)

Do I sacrifice the potential of Kosi for Ridley, or do I play it safe and get rid of my donut defender and get a good Mid and a good Def but noone groundbreaking?

TU: Neale > Ridley, Kosi > Giro/McNeill/Brockman (which one!)

    TD: Neale > Bowes, Chugg > Powell/Berry

    1. New plan:
chugg > Bowes, Hawkins > Waterman
      Better?

Reason being that Kosi may still come good, and Neale, whilst not doing well, is still outperforming Hawkins and now they are a similar price.

      2

      0
      1. I think you should do Dow to Waterman. Hold Hawkins I think he will bounce back as Geelong haven’t really got going yet this year. Could sure up your bench with Kosi/Chugg to Jones

I wouldn’t be bringing in McNeil or Brockman now I think you have missed their main price rises and they aren’t setting the world on fire

        1. Thanks for the advice, good shout on the trade ins. I went Kosi to Jones, and Daniher to Waterman. Dow will probably get upgraded next week with all my delicious dollaroos I made from this trade!

  9. Help! I’ve had a bad start to the season. I currently have 25 trades left and 142K in the bank.

    1. Your major problem seems to be in defence. You are going to have to replace Daniel and your current rookies have poor JS. You could consider going late to Jiath, Cox or Chapman depending on cash available after sideways trading Daniel… definitely not ideal but two donuts down back is worse.

  10. This is my first attempt at SC so I’ve had a rough start as I gambled on a few mid range players who have almost all disappointed, would love some ideas on what to do

DEF: Laird, Lever, McGovern, Duryea, Cox, Highmore (Fantasia, Kosi)
MID: Macrae, Boak, Martin, Ellis, Gulden, Clark, Jordan, Scott (Prestia, Sparrow, M. Rioli)
    RUC: Gawn, Flynn (Fullarton)
FWD: Zorko, Walker, Darling, Membrey, Castagna, Campbell (Jones WCE, Bergman)
    204K ITB
    My current idea is
Castagna > Waterman and Sparrow>Dunkley and shuffle to get Scott on the bench then use Kosi for Jones next week
Although was considering Fantasia>Short/Jiath instead of Sparrow trade

    1. As a rule, try to avoid key position forwards – you need Dunkley as he will be the top scoring forward this year. Also I would look to upgrade Duryea ASAP to either Ridley or Mills. You have big issues with non playing rookies in defence. The leaders in SC this year have stacked their defence with premiums ie Ridley , Laird, Mills, Stewart, Lloyd etc
      Good luck.

    1. Hey Jesse,

Your team is looking in decent shape, especially with those trades. The issues you mentioned are probably the only glaring problems I see and nothing you can’t fix by tinkering in the next few rounds – may want to also look at cashing out on stalling rookies like Campbell and Rowe eventually as well. I’d address them before trading out Neale/Hunter barring any injuries/suspensions.

Dunks, Dusty, Ziebell, Impey, Warner, Daniher (Rowe, Bergman)

I’ve got around 48k to play with but already down to 24 trades. Copped the donut for Flynn this week so looking to do Draper>Hickey and Daniher/Campbell/Jordon>Waterman.

Bit hesitant to burn another two trades but it might have to be done – thoughts?

    0

    0
    1. Personally I wouldn’t go with Hickey as his career average is way down on what he is currently going at. If you think he can do it all year then go for it though.
If Flynn isn’t named then you could do Campbell/Daniher to Waterman and Draper to Nic Nat/Darcy.
If Flynn is named then you could do Draper to Treacy and if you want Waterman then trade Bergman or Sharp to him. I would go with this option as your not using a trade on a ruckman to have for a month then trade out to get Grundy in. Use Treacy for cash or a loophole if he gets dropped

      1

      0
      1. Cheers for the reply Alza. Very interesting point you made about Hickey – didn’t know that was the case. You’re right, probably best to upgrade to a safer ruck option like NicNat to save me the stress later on. I’ll tinker with the team to see what works, thanks legend!

        1

        0
      2. Regarding Hickey’s career average – there were quite a few years where he either didn’t get a good run of games or had to split ruck duties. I think if he maintains his current role at the Swans, he’s a good chance to average 100+ from here.

  18. Danger, Rowell & Young have seen me go through 3 unnecessary trades but that’s still better than some!
I still have some holes I hope the team can help with.

Would give me some cash in the bank for an attempt at getting Ridley next week.

    1. Really good side! How many trades do you have left? If you have a few to burn maybe a Heeney down to a waterman and upgrade a Daniel to a Ridley or Phillips to a danger, or even Campbell to a midfield premo if you have the cash

      1. I have 26 trades left atm, with only $17k left in my bank.

Don’t know if I like downgrading a player like that down to a rookie. I understand getting Waterman being it’ll be his third match this week, but trading out one of my premo/near-premo’s for him seems not that good to me.

Def: Laird, Mills, Daniel, H. Clark, Chapman, Kozi (Sharp, Highmore)
Mid: Neale, Macrae, Oliver, Merrett, Titch, Cripps, Gulden, Berry
    (Jordan, McNeil, A.Fyfe)
    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Hunter)
Fwd: Butters, Ziebell, Campbell, Rowe, Brockman, Waterman (Scott, Saunders)

Brought Butters in last week 🙁
    He has to go unfortunately.

Im thinking Butters and Jordan out (via Sharp DPP) for Dangerfield and L.Jones (port). Will hopefully allow me to cover Daniel as long as Highmore or Kozi get a game

However, any suggestions would be great

    1. Hopefully for you, Daniel should get off with a fine.
Your defence is your biggest immediate worry so I will try to get 6 playing bodies in there.
Cox and Jones will give you cover and continue cash generation?

  25. Everything was going swimmingly until the season started !
Danger,Neal,Draper,Butters,Heendog, and there has been a couple more that i cannot recall to add to the carnage, wrong rookies on the bench, if it wasnt for the leagues i am in um well i must try and stay interested for their sake

  26. Any feedback would be appreciated
It’s not the greatest team I have
Daniel down back and also a couple
non playing rookies which is a
Problem so I probably need to address
    that first.

    1. Highmore to N. Cox might be a thought depending on which rookies get a game this week for the rest of your team including some of the Swans players at some stage..

  27. So opted to roll with a donut last week, save trade and not bring in Chapman. Well that has backfired with Daniel being suspended and pumping out 19 for the game.

Would love some advice on which way to go this week, with the assumption that highmore, kozi and sharp won’t get a game this week.

    Lineup
Def: Lloyd, Laird, mills, Daniel, Clarke, highmore (kozi, sharp)
Mid: Macrae, Merrett, Mitchell, Cripps, Taranto, gulden, Powell, Jordon (berry, Scott, Saunders (loop))
    Ruc: Gawn, Grundy (Flynn)
Fwd: Dunkley, ziebell, Phillips, Warner, Campbell, rowe (brockman, fullarton )

    Trades: 27
    Bank: $72,200.

TU: Kozi & Fullarton to Chapman & L Jones. (Via dpp)
$31k ITB – would avoid donut down back and retain Daniel. Means I would be bringing in Chapman a week late and missing out on waterman (or bringing him in next week)
TD: Saunders & Fullarton to Chapman & Wateman.
Would be copping a donut down back 2nd week in a row.

Comment: Daniel & Fullarton to short & L Jones.

Would really love some advice on this or some ideas.
Pissed off at myself for not bringing Chapman in last week which will probably mean paying more for him and/or waterman.

    1. Probably needs to be Daniel and Def. rookie to a combination of Chapman , Cox , L. Jones, Bowes whatever you can afford. Being careful who will be in each teams best 22.

  28. My forward line is a bit messy and feel like it’s weighing down my team. Consists of Dunkley, Bailey, Ziebell, Warner, Campbell, Rowe, Bergman and Treacy.

Have a lot of love for Zac Bailey as my only starting POD and feels dirty to get rid of him potentially as he’s only really put up the one bad score and lions can only lift from here but it’s a crucial week before upgrade season starts and I’m stuck.

Have no Tex/Impey obviously and feel like I’m losing some points fielding Rowe/Bergman. Is Campbell to Stringer a viable option for me this week? Looks fairly fit and 69% and 78% CBAs so far. Him over a Waterman gives me that scoring power on field I need and just hope he can average 90 for the next 4-6 weeks. Am I crazy?

    1. Generate some cash with Waterman. Some of the others have flown the coop. Stringer has nuff days.

    1. Butters injury seems longer term I would start there. Daniel back next week.
Williams maybe this week but I did not like his body language the week before and got rid of him.

  30. Need some advice on what I should do. My scoring is tanking at the moment. A mere 1968 in R4! 🙁 Ranking is about 8,800! I have just over $220K in the bank before I make any trades from my current 26 trades.

FWD line: Lloyd; Ridley; Houston; Short; Daniel; Clark (Kos and Highmore)

MID line: Oliver; Zerrett; Walsh; Taranto; Gulden; Jordan; Campbell; McNeil (Dow; Scott; A Fyfe)

    RUCKs: Gawn; Flynn (Meek)

DEF line: Dunkley; Martin; Ziebell; Impey; Warner; Logan McDonald (Rowe; Fullarton)

My thoughts are to trade out Daniel and Dow to Bowes and CJ via Clark DPP.
Or should I trade in Steele and Chapman or Jones (Jones obviously leaves me more cash in the bank after the 2 trades but what is his JS like?)

    1

    0
    1. Kos or Highmore to Cox, Chapman or L.Jones whichever you think has the best job security. Daniel to the bench this week he won’t alter in price then you can see if you have bigger fish to fry next week.

    1. Brett.

25 trades is tough I would try to keep Daniel if possible.

      Option A.. 1 trade

Bruhn to L Jones ( Fyfe to mids)
Kosi may play with Lewis suspended.

      Option B. 2 trades.

      Kosi to L Jones.

De Goey to Bowes. ( Campbell forward – Fyfe Mid.)

      Best of luck.

Need thoughts on trades to make. Think i’ll keep heeney on the bench and play dangerfield in the forward line jordon in the midfield.

maybe trade daniel for sholl. and highmore for lachie jones

  36. Sorry that was me .

    Lets say not much eh.

    EJ

    Sholl is a huge risk.

What about saving Daniel with no donuts ?

    Danniher to L Jones.
Brockman forward with Rowe on field.( at home v Freo)
Sharp to mid bench. L Jones to D6
Wehr to Chapman.( still has good cash to make )

    Chapman to D5

    Bench Daniel and Highmore.

    Best of luck.

        1. Much better options, played against North on the weekend and inflates his average. Can’t be expecting Sholl to be pumping out those scores every week.

          1

          0
        2. He is a break out contender no doubt.

If he was even $100k cheaper I would be all over him.

He is just still very young ( rising star this week.) and it’s unlikely he can keep this up. Not impossible just very rarely done.

If you want to roll the dice go ahead. The kids an amazing kick and could prove me wrong.

I would still bet that Daniel will out score Sholl from now to the end of the season. Even with a rookie covering him this week.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

          1

      1. As FT has said above:
        Danniher to L Jones.
Brockman forward with Rowe on field.( at home v Freo)
Sharp to mid bench. L Jones to D6
Wehr to Chapman.( still has good cash to make )

        Chapman to D5

        Bench Daniel and Highmore.

        1

        0
          1. So trade Daniher sub brockman into the forward line, then sub sharp to the mids (put on bench), then you’ll be able to pick L.Jones (put on field) in DEF then trade Wehr to Chapman (also put on field).

Then your DEF Bench should look like Daniel and Highmore.

Does that make sense now EJ?

            2

            0
          2. Hit trade on Danniher

            Move Brockman (S) forward.

Then Move sharp ( S) to the mids.

            Then Trade D for Jones.

It much easier on a lap top. 😉

            4

            0
  37. Ok, so the full rookie ruck setup hasn’t worked and need to correct.

D: Lloyd, Daniel, Short, Laird, Stewart, H.Clark (Highmore, Kosi)
M: Neale, Merrett, Bontempelli, Brayshaw, LDU, Gulden, B.Campbell, Powell (Jordon, Brockman, Sharp)
    R: Flynn, Meek, Treacy
F: Dunkley, Butters, Ziebell, Atkins, Duryea, Warner (Rowe, Scott)

    $94.4K in the kitty.

Obviously need to trade Butters, so was thinking of one of the following scenarios:

Option 1: Butters > Greenwood via DPP ($34K left)
    Option 2: Butters > Bergman/Waterman; Meek > Hickey ($303K left)
    Option 3: Butters > Impey ($230K left)
    Option 4a: Butters > Finlayson ($249K Left)
Option 4b: Butters > Finlayson; Meek > Hickey ($80K left)

Although I’m trying to save trades, those Freo rucks are worrying. May have missed the boat somewhat on Impey or Hickey, but their roles are looking pretty good at this stage and still have some money to make.

    Very much open to suggestions.

    1. Maaz Rover.

      Butters to Waterman.

This gets you max cash to fix your rucks.

Meek to Hickey. ( I don’t think you can afford Grundy and he maybe cheaper in a few weeks)

Flynn should play this week. If not Treacy will have to cover.

Also…Keep Bergman as he may get a recall with Butters and Duursma going down.

      Best of luck.

M: Macrae, Merrett, Brayshaw, Crips, Gulden, Clark, Powell, Jordon (Brockman, McNeil, Downie)
    R: Gawndy (Flynn)
F: Dunkley, Zorko, Zieball, Impey, Warner, Rowe (Scott, Jones)

$179,200 in the bank. 25 trades left, already traded Butters to Ridley this week. Unsure if I should look to trading Downie into Waterman or save the trades

    R: Gawndy (Flynn)
F: Dunkley, Ziebell, Impey, Warner, Daniher, L McDonald (Rowe, Scott)

    ITB: $202k, 27 trades.

    Considering;
A: Jordon to Waterman via Scott DPP
B: Jordon to Waterman via Scott DPP & Butts to Ryan
C: Jordon to Waterman via Scott DPP & Clark to Ridley
