Fremantle Team Preview 2026

You’d think I’d have this one covered, but I live in Sydney. so I went to my man on the ground in Fremantle Damo. @DamoSC on X . Damo has been a long time member of the Footy Mailbag team.Thank you Damo, for helped me get my head around, a quite tricky Freo Line up. There’s still a fair bit on offer at the Dockers this year, so let’s dive in.

Oh and Go Freo !

The Lock

Jordon Clark. ( Def ) $568.000

Jordan had quite the breakout season in 2025. That smile from ear to ear when he found out he was AA. He finally announced himself as true Premium Defender. His season average was 104.6, but his included  2 scores in the 60’s, one tagged and one in round 22. If he can get those out of his game, a 110+ averaging season could be on the cards. 10% owned seems pretty low for a consistent performer, without an early Bye. Many folks are starting Rozee in this spot with his great early run. If you fell like going against the grain. You could do a lot worst than getting in Jordan Clark.

The Dark Horse

Luke Jackson ( ruck )  $611.200

Who better for the Dark Horse spot, than the Unicorn himself, Lukey boy Jackson. Initially I thought he was probably over priced. Most of his spike games came when he was the solo ruck. Then when Darcy returned Jackson got a little Luke warm. 😉 Even sharing the ruck 40% of the time, with a bit of mid time,I think the new rules will only help Jackson. So yes he seems expensive, but if anything happens to Darcy ( touch wood ) Jackson could be a “must have ” overnight. ~25 % of coaches are currently Luke Jackson owners, Are you one of them ?

The Breakout

Hayden Young ( Mid ) $389.000

Hayden Young is in 53% of SuperCoach sides at the time of writing. I’m here to ask “Could this be an over hyped pick ? ” For this one I may need some numbers. Hayden Young’s best year was in 2024 he payed all 23 games and averaged 101.3 He scored 13 tons and had 4 scores under 70. His starting price for 2025 was $546.100. If he can repeat this kind of effort He is gonna be a great pick. He should make ~$150K and you could look to upgrade him around his round 14 Bye. Here’s where a bit of gut feel comes in. Young has been spending a heap of time behind the ball in match sim. He’s also had time forward. He plays mid, but they aren’t gonna play him a heap through the midfield. At least early in the season. Freo now have a heap of options, so we all may need to tamper expectations a little. In conclusion, My head says the maths adds up and I should just lock him in. My gut thinks it may not be that simple.

The Rookie
Tobyn Murray ( Fwd ) $113.500

Tobyn is a 20 year old small forward , that burst onto the scene in 2024 with some standout VFL performances. In the mould of a Sean Mannagh. Tobyn loves to get up the ground. he’s tough at ground level, and I think ready for senior footy. I’m not sure if he can push anyone out at this stage.I do think he’s the best placed rookie to get a game at some stage during the year if some injuries occur.

Before I leave you, I will give you my take on Brayshaw and Serong. I think they are both unfortunately uninspiring starting picks In SC 2026. Serong could be negatively impacted by the new rules, as he gets most of his ball from stoppages. Brayshaw should remain pretty solid as he gets a fair bit of transition ball. The truth is Freo’s fixture is a fair bit tougher this season, and with Young, Jackson, Erasmus and Johnson all hunting for midfield time, perhaps there not a heap of room for either Serong or Brayshaw to really push 115+ I could be wrong, but I get the sense Freo are trying to play faster more selfless footy. Unfortunately that isn’t always the best for Supercoach.

Let us know in the comments if there’s any Freo players you are thinking of starting.

Thanks for reading

Cheers FT.
