R11, 2013, Sydney Swans 19.13 (127) d Adelaide Crows 6.14 (50) at AAMI Stadium

Game notes:

The two form sides of the competition square off in what could be a Grand Final preview. After a mid-season malaise, the Crows have rebounded strongly, winning six of their past seven games – and drawn the other with a kick after the siren – to move six points clear at the top of the table. While they have locked in a top-two berth, the Crows would love nothing more to knock off the Swans and gain a small slice of retribution for last year’s semi-final loss. Six straight losses to start the season left the Swans languishing at the foot of the ladder, but last year’s Grand Finalists have dramatically turned things around with 12 wins from their past 14 games to keep their top-four hopes alive. You couldn’t ask for a better start to the penultimate round of the competition.

  4. Despite the free kick count, a bloody awesome game that was high pressure right to the end.

Certainly a deserving match of the round. Finals footy come early.

    1. Can you wait until further into the weekend to see how you’re tracking? Withers probably more of chance of a lower score than a higher one I think.

  5. M Crouch: 34 and 1 goal at 79%. Seems harsh to not crack a ton. I didn’t see the game, can anyone shed some light.

    1. Watched the whole game and certainly was not a standout despite possession count. Was maybe a little harsh on the scoring but it was a very turnover happy game, so you’d have thought 79% de would pay higher.

Think 100 was likely with a win, just under seems fair without.

    2. He had 31 at 3/4 time so they may have counted his low possessions in Q4 against him. Local radio commentators had him as Crows 2nd best after Sloane.
      Definitely deserved a tonne.

  6. Only watched the first half. Was happy with Bruce’s comment on Rampe whose half was described as ‘ one for the ages’ .Quite surprised to see a score of only 60 !
