Game Chat – Adelaide vs GWS

Written by Thommo on September 8 2020

Where and When: Adelaide Oval, Tuesday 8 September 2020 at 5:40pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Rd 12, 2019: Adelaide 12.10 (82) def GWS 9.7 (61) at Adelaide Oval

Match Preview: On paper this looks a dead rubber, but it is amazing what a single win can do for a club. The Crows have a relatively full squad and looked like a real team last week, albeit against the struggling Hawks, while the Giants are down several key players and have a tendency to play below their best on occasion.

With the Crows also having a true home ground advantage (rare in 2020) this has all the hallmarks of an upset in the making. Let’s see just how badly the Giants want to play finals this season!

Supercoach Watch: Adelaide – Surely Matt Crouch has joined a few squads after his recent run of form while Laird and Riley O’Brien are also SC relevant.

GWS – The Giants are very relevant for those playing in Riccardi, Whitfield, Coniglio, Taranto and Haynes, as well as those not playing with Josh “Never-again” Kelly and Williams out.

Thommo Watch: After a few drinks last night, Thommo decided to trade Grundy to ROB. This could backfire spectacularly!

Thommo’s Tip: Giants by 1 point!

  1. I think a few will be bringing in ROB
No real other options if you’ve held off and now realise you have to trade to win

  2. Just traded out JKelly and ZWilliams to Lyons and Haynes. Both now officially on my never again list.

And for all the Dees / Pies / Saints / Dogs / Blues / Bombers fans out there, go the Crows!

  3. Great start from the Crows! Must say a little surprised with De Boer as I don’t think he is tagging anyone

      1. Not with a recent 2 year extension he doesn’t lol.

I agree though, Macca. No sense of cohesion, structure or discernible system anymore.

        1. spot on GD! Exactly what I was thinking and they’re barely hanging in the 8 and really should be winning this game with ease …

Such a great disappointment with this club and the riches of playing talent they have had … no idea as a coach and the club has no idea allowing him to continue …
