Where and when: GMHBA Stadium, Saturday July 13, 7.25pm AEST
What it means for Geelong: Keeping breathing space at the top. After last week’s stumble, the Cats now only have a one-game buffer on West Coast. Responding on the rebound it’s essential to ensuring a home qualifying final.
What it means for St Kilda: Playing for the coach. Following horror quarters against Brisbane (round 14) and North Melbourne (round 16), the Saints need a consistent performance to ensure the headlines go elsewhere next week.
The stat: 1999. The last time the Saints defeated the Cats in Geelong, having lost their past eight trips down the highway.
The match-up: Jack Billings v Mitch Duncan
Two of the best-performing wingmen in the competition this season, a head-to-head battle on the wing at GMHBA Stadium would be a mouth-watering proposition. Duncan, ranked 43rd in the AFL Official Player Ratings, is ranked No.3 at Geelong for most disposals with Billings (187th) No.1 at the Saints.
It’s a big week for: Rhys Stanley
Has his chance to assert his position as Geelong’s No.1 ruck this week against his former side. Will be matched for athleticism around the ground with Saint Rowan Marshall, Saturday night presents as Stanley’s opportunity to get his stoppage work back to its best.
Thommo’s Tip: Cats by plenty!

Is it worth benching Gray (who’s up against Brisbane) to take Rowbottom’s 93?
TU: Do it, take what’s there
TD: Risk it for the bigger biscuit
Gray’s in good form at the moment.
Otherwise its Brad Crouch but he’s against Gold Coast
NO LATE CHANGES

Applauds himself. Danger vc yay! But…hang on… Logue Rotham HInd Bewley Scott Fort Young and Bines have all played as emergs. Shit!! Good luck Jack McCrae. Lol. Another way to screw myself in SC.
Hahaha some weekends u just can’t win. Very frustrating
160 points worth of frustration!
Rookie mistake that
True. Problem I had was that Logue, Hind, Fort and Young were all emergs and if I swapped them with another player about to play, I couldn’t take the emerg off another player on the bench because they had already played. Rookie error but also a tad unfortunate.
