Traded him last week…..for riccardi.
Quite happy.
I was back and forth on going Rankine to Riccardi right up until GWS played and just couldn’t pull the trigger given I’m down to 5 trades and he was playing North. Was kicking myself after Riccardi’s score, and Jelly’s injury. Sure got lucky!!!

Sigh has to trade rankine to upgrade to jelly. Only for rankine now going better than jelly and jelly injured.
Held onto Rankine as I didn’t have enough to upgrade him and didn’t really want to downgrade him to anyone. Missed on Riccardi but he has made up for my decision with that 1st quarter

I’ve seen a few complaints about SC scoring today and I’ve got to agree. What is recorded as effective and ineffective is ridiculous.
I’m riding Simpkin in a cash league and he grabbed a contested possession from a tap banged it on his boot and it was marked by a team mate. It was a slightly contested mark but why was the kick ineffective?
Maybe the stats people working for CD are missing their families too…?
as the scores are just a reflection of the stats awarded
when no one knows who is awarding the stats & how
maybe its a few statisticians per game or 1 for each player
maybe they’re at the game & its where they are sitting
or maybe some or all are watching a screen somewhere
i think if we knew the truth about it we might not have such high expectations for accuracy
when you see a player with 15 involvements to 1/2 time
but you’ve hardly seen him or heard his name on TV
it makes me wonder how accurate it is too
only thing for sure is
that it’s in the betting & advertising agency’s best interest to keep the process dark
Thommo, very sad about Josh Kelly injury but how does his score go up 7 points after half time .

The funny thing is, the scoring has probably been dodgy all season but I wasn’t watching so closely. Now I have money on the line I’m riding every touch!
Fair point Jo, Champion Data are probably under staffed due to job cuts and working from home so we should probably be forgiving of them.

One or two things I’ve picked up on,
Yes, we get the plus score for the amateurs comp. and then not often the equivalent in SC for obvious scoring reasons, but then, when there is a data update, the SC score is then changed again on often occasions.
Could it be there is multiple scorers covering different categories?
ie like when it first started manually at local clubs, one person would call ‘em while another person marked them on the sheet.
Then when it even got more complex, there would be different callers for set categories eg. Kicks, handballs contested or uncontested and another group did marks, free kicks for and against contested and uncontested etc.etc…….and often at the end of the quarter or quick catch up time, realised errors were corrected.
Maybe it’s all done similarly now on iPads????
