Game Chat – Gold Coast vs Western Bulldogs

Written by Thommo on July 17 2021

Where and When: Metricon Stadium, Saturday 17th July at 4:35pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Rd 5, 2020: Western Bulldogs 17.16 (118) def Gold Coast 8.8 (56) at Marvel Stadium.

Last 5 H2H: Western Bulldogs 4 – Gold Coast 1

Thommo Watch:

Gold Coast: Touk is the man and he is now the 9th highest scoring player (6th on averages) in Supercoach. A handy pick 28 in the 2014 draft!

Western Bulldogs: Dunkley, Macrae and Bont reunited!

Match Preview: The Suns are finally showing something with two very gritty wins in recent weeks while the Dogs embarrassed themselves with a very lacklustre effort against the Swans last week. Unfortunately for the Suns, this means the dogs will definitely turn up this week. Dunks and Naughton add a lot of strength for the Dogs while the Suns lose some strength around the ball with the loss of Greenwood. Unless the Gold Coast can find another gear this won’t be close.

Thommo’s Tip:  Western Bulldogs by 35 points. (Tipping record: 27.5/48)

  1. Hi All,
    Anyone know if Dusty will be a straight swap for Rowan Marshall next week.
    Trades and money nearly all gone! Thanks

    1. Approximately
      Martin $446k ( Rd18 BE 120 Scored 62 :$472k->$446k ($-25k))
      Rowan Marshall $463k (BE 65 Rd 18 Score 120* R18:->$463k (+$24k))

    1. My 3rd injury of the round, it’s only the 4th game. I think that is the final nail in the coffin for this season.

  2. Stuff it, I’m starting Bont next year, don’t care about the cost. 46% efficiency and six clangers and he’s still cracked the half century before half time.

    1. and yet the scorers still almost gave him a 100.

      It was absolutely BS scoring on him in the second quarter after he was on 9 at QTR time – he did one kick into the 50M which was marked and a goal and he jumped over 20 … he then got more scores that no-one else gets … and I was so pi$$ed off I went and watched something else midway through the third quarter.
