Game Chat – West Coast v Fremantle

Written by Father Dougal on May 2 2021

Where and when: 4:40pm  at Optus Stadium

What it means for the Eagles: A win means a 4-3 record and they are either in or right outside the 8, with four other teams on 16 points. A loss puts them outside of the 8 for sure, in the pack of hopefuls.

What it means for the Dockers:   A win means 5-2 and 4-5th on the ladder depending on how big a win. A loss means 4-3 and 8-9th on the ladder, depending on how big a loss.

Supercoach Watch:

Eagles: Nic Nat, Duggan, Tim Kelly.

Dockers:  Fyfe,  Treacy,  Chapman, Ryan (if he wasn’t out) , and Brayshaw

Father Dougal’s Watch:  Brayshaw, because I just got him in. Gonna be up and down some, so hping for up.

Father Dougal’s Tip:  I can’t use my usual Optus tiebreaker, so I’m going to go with the Dockers by 5. Fremantle is younger and hungrier, and feels like the Eagles are getting older and when it comes down to it, they adjust aren’t the same without Glenn Fry.

  1. No late changes for either side.
West Coast Eagles : Brayden Ainsworth
    Fremantle : Taylin Duman

  2. Another crowdless game to be played in the state’s biggest AFL match. I feel sorry for the WA supporters that have waited over a year to attend a derby coz of COVID for it to be now crowd free 🙁

  3. No crowd sucks even as a WC home game.

    Its been 5 long years.

    It has to end today.

Go Dockers and go Andy Brayshaw.

    We got this..

    1. He is really hampered by his shoulder but trying hard. It will be a struggle for him to impact in this game.

  4. The young Dockers running on fumes, the mature experienced Eagles too strong and running away with this game.
I’m such a fan of what Kennedy brings to his team, one of the best full forwards of all time!!

  5. Another heinous SC week from me with scaling to Brayshaw to sink me in a few league match-ups, but it doesn’t matter: we smashed Freo without 6 of our best.

Very happy. Great stuff, Eagles – sorry, FT!

    1. All good, well done.

      We looked very tired late.

Hopefully both get a few players back in the next few weeks.
