Game Chat – West Coast v Hawthorn

Written by Thommo on August 8 2015

Before I get into the game details, my deepest sympathies to Nic Natanui on the tragic loss of his mother.

After both teams received a wake up call last week, they must now play a match that is likely to be a dress rehearsal for the first week of the finals. Expect finals level intensity as both teams bring the heat.

Simpson has indicated his desire to win this game by rushing McGovern back into the side to bolster their undersized back-line. West Coast has turned Paterson’s stadium into a stronghold his year and the Hawthorn forward line will have to click into gear to give the Hawks a chance.

Cyril celebrates 150 delicious games.

Thommo’s tip: Hawthorn by 10 points.

  3. If Mark Le Cras hasn’t been reported then he’ll receive a summons from the MRP. Nothing vicious but he caught James Frawley’s head on the way past the ball……..

Frawley off with the concussion rule, Duryea temporarily on. Wet and windy night in Perth, won’t be a high-scoring game but the intensity is there……..

  6. FULL TIME

    Eagles 74 vs Hawks 88

Hawks just pulled away a little in the end, couple of clutch goals making the difference (and possibly a lucky non-call from the boundary umpire). Was a decent contest despite the slippery conditions……..

With Lycett tiring and McGovern off injured, Yeo played in the ruck during the last qtr, helping his score a little (but it’s still gonna hurt his coaches’ scores)……..
