Where and when: Optus Stadium, Saturday 3rd April, 2021 at 8:10pm (AEDT)
Last time they met: Rd 4, 2020: Port Adelaide 13.11 (89) def West Coast 6.5 (41) at Metricon Stadium.
This was a tale of two teams heading in opposite directions. Port jumped out to an early lead and they were never headed on their way to their fourth-straight win. Charlie Dixon kicked 6 goals in a strong performance assisted by both the absence of the injured Jeremy McGovern and the service from Boak and Rockliff in the midfield.
Meanwhile, West Coast recorded their third loss on the trot despite Kennedy kicking 4 goals and captain Shuey working through the pain of sore ribs to record 12 contested possessions and 20 pressure acts.
Match Preview: Despite injuries to important personnel, West Coast has played decent footy beating Gold Coast and losing a very tight match to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, the Eagles will need to bring more than decent form to defeat the red-hot Port Adelaide. The Power is finally living up to its name, handing out hidings to both Essendon and North, and they look ready to hold-down a top 4 position for the year.
That said, North and Essendon are hardly contenders in 2021 so there is a chance we are overrating Port’s form. The West Coast home-ground advantage might be enough to allow the Eagles to upset the Power. This game should be close.

What to do with Gaff?
TU – Tom Mitchell
TD – Andrew Brayshaw
I went with Brayshaw, due to the bye structure and cheaper. Wish me luck.
And thanks for the votes.
No late changes.
The medical substitutes are
Zac Langdon
Miles Bergman
Apparently from earlier today.
Brendon Ah Chee is OUT (hamstring)
Jarrod Brander comes in
.
Let’s get it, CT.
I’ve tipped us for good luck.
I picked them as well.
Go Eagles!
Go Port Adelaide.
Thommo, you shouldn’t be trading in Boak. History shows he does his best work early then drops away (plus dominates the two opponents he’s played). He’ll ave 105 from here on and that just isn’t good enough to justify the trade in.
What’s peoples thoughts of holding Bergman?
Risk given he is the sub
TU: will kill his growth if he is used and scores low
TD: at least he might get a game
Accidentally left Bergman on my field… if he gets subbed in then what happens? :/
Once he comes on the field you get whatever he scores.
If he doesn’t play you get a DNP and you get your emergency’s score.
Fml, let’s hope he doesn’t get subbed in. Unfortunately I don’t see that happening 🙁
If Bergman doesnt get subbed on, does the fact the sub is counted as a game mean that a zero gets registered as his score and hence is added to his 3 round average?
Any idea guys?
I asked the same, it gets recorded as DNP.
Omg if he doesn’t play
Its recorded as DNP…..
Butters quiet
Eagles turn to win
Are you there wighty, supercoach 101, ( dont sideways trade). Gaff!!
Gaff proves the rule right again. It’s also why I won’t be trading Cripps.
If only I only had Victorian club players
My scores would be so much higher
Good call , shuey and gaff are both Victorians.
Grundy taps to the ground….. Nik Nat taps to advantage and goal
Shuey subbed off hamstring injury.
Was playing a great game too.
Yeah, Shuey’s hamstring sours what was otherwise a tremendous showing.
Knew we’d let take our foot off the gas and let them have a couple back, but that was a pounding. Very happy, CT.
Great win. A shame about shuey but so good to have Gaff back in form. Well, really the whole team played well.
Funny I had nobody playing in that game in my super coach team.
Lol, same. No players in that one.
Yep, great all round. Under the radar, but really liked Duggan’s role playing as the spare across the ground. Popped up at a couple key moments.
Saints next week, hopefully we can replicate tonight’s form.
Catch ya, CT.
Did Langdon have to come on?
I thought the sub was there for concussions.
…..otherwise we should have more subs……
It is called a medical sub.
For all serious injuries and concussion. The doctor has to sign off that the player can not return to the game and has a significant injury.
Requires a doctors clearance to play the following week if the player recovers, this excludes concussion where players can not play for 12 days.
Thanks CT.
Which leads me again to say…..logically, but far fetched of course, theoretically, technically, or whatever…….a “sub” should be available everytime a player is signed out and then not be available for minimum 1 week. Hence more subs.
To explain my jibberish 1 for ruck, mid, forward and defence.
How many teams would/will have a ruck sub ATM?
They will maybe have a ruck interchange and then score a fast onballer to replace a ruck if he does a hamstring. Hypocrisy and contradictory at its finest……IMO of course….!!!
