Well 4 top 1k finishes in a row. I’ll take it in what’s been a really difficult season. Hope everyone went well and can’t wait to see if Yorgy placed or even won!

What a tough year. Lost all my finals, except the one that counted. Managed to to win LOEC3. Feeling for you Stewy – unfortunately for you, if it could go wrong, it did go wrong. Well done on making the final. It is an incredible honour to be in any of the LOEC leagues. Even more humbling to win one of them. Thank you SCT!

    Hopefully crack Top 200.

First time finishing inside the top 1k, big thanks to the SCT community for contributing to my 50-50 decision-making throughout the season.

    Bring on SC 2021!

    1. Officially finished 155th, very happy.

Didn’t start with Gawn, no Neale until R12, and I never owned Petracca nor Greenwood.

May have been a different story, but loved the ride!

Won the GF in my first year of SC against a team that didn’t lose a game all year. Nothing special rank-wise but I had an awesome time and can’t wait until next season.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on SCT for answering my dumb questions and all the great discussion. It’s been awesome getting to know all of you in the community and I can’t wait to return the favour and help out some newbies next year.

Special thanks to the authors for the content. Your articles go a long way in helping us all to be competitive and you really can’t be thanked enough.

Final shout out to GD, Chillo and CT for being the main guys to thoughtfully answer my questions when I first joined and making me feel welcome.

Cheers SCT, here’s to next year.

    Dons 2021.

Sadly lost both GFs this week but still happy with what I managed to produce during the crazy season. Chillo beat me in the minor GF and we both would have won the major GF in the same league so I’m going to say we were the main final!

Lyons, Duncan, Ridley and Cripps were the 4 big let downs this round. They just had to do it when it really mattered.

With such a crazy season I ended up with 2 trades leftover and many PODs. Happy to say that this season was a unique experience and surely won’t happen again.

Just have a big thanks to the SCT team and many contributors for what they managed to do this season! Always enjoy coming to the site for some key info, now it is time for a break or should I say preseason planning!

    1. Congrats on your season Nato. Hope you’re handling the lockdown ok mate, I’m sure Victorians are getting a bit sick of all the “we’re with you” messages but you’re all doing a great job. Enjoy the finals!

      1. Thanks Chillo! Lockdown has been tough for me with Uni all online and struggling with motivation. However, Supercoach has been keeping me going week by week. Will be interesting to see what will take my attention now Supercoach is done for another year

Had virtually given up this year after round 4 being ranked outside the top 50,000 but kept plugging away and very happy with this finish. Had a great finals series, only finishing in the top 4 in 1/4 leagues but came away with victories in 3/4.

Thanks to everyone for all the help on the site this year. I don’t ask for advice that much but I read and upvote plenty and it is all appreciated. Can’t wait for next year.

Pleased with the fightback over the season – clawed back from 75k after missing two complete rounds early on. I love the game so will never give up as there is always something on it, even if it’s just to fight for a better position in a top 500 league (of which I finished in five). Lost three GF, one by a solitary point!!

Hope everyone has had a great season in the difficult times and hope to see you all back next season. Have a great off season.

  8. Final rank of 1,272 for me this year. Actually think i had a very poor season but have learnt more this season than i have in any other! Always difficult to back up a top 100 season.

Well done to GeordieDemolition (Seb) for beating me and taking out the SCT LoEC1 league!

Haven’t been as active on the site this season but I’m sure everyones been brilliant yet again! Will try be more regular on the site next season come pre-season.

Will write up my biggest learning points from this season in my season review if anyone is interested!

Hope everyone had a great year!

Please do! I’m planning to do an end-of-season postmortem of my own in the coming days, so it will be great if we end up having a few different ones to compare.

Love this site guys and girls. Love all the topics and comments and it’s the best SuperCoach site around. Will keep logging on during the off-season for a chit chat. Highest score for the year in the final round and rose about 550 places. Having Cripps score was the only flaw, but I believe most teams would’ve had him. Looking forward to doing it all again next year. Thank you everyone

Had an insane last two weeks of the H & A season going up 900 spots last week and then another 700 odd this week.

Loved following Yiorgi’s heroics and cheering him on as well – epic 3rd place finish overall.

Won 8 grand finals including one decent cash league granny. Looking forward to mad Monday :p

Well done to all the coaches and in particular to the amazing writers and contributors.

I had a shocking round losing all 7 grand finals including one by 5 points and slipping from 437 overall to 767.

I’ll be back bigger and better next season.

Thanks to all here at SCT for their hard work work and contributions. I hope everyone has an enjoyable off-season.

Very happy overall with my first proper year of SC. Learned lots from everyone here had a ball and am counting down to next year and on rookie watch already (Its gonna be tough next year). Thanks for everyone on the help and glad to be part of such a great community. Anyone backing up for BBL SC and got any good leagues Id love to join!

Big improvement from coming 79k last year! Maybe top 1k for next year if I avoid my loyalty for picking dud hawk players!!!!!

  14. I did a bit of the GWS in the grand final and got smashed.

    2097/Gawn/634

shocking last round, fell 400 odd places.

Only fielded 21 players and lost all my Grand finals

Happy with the season overall, too many ‘learnings’ to list but “Keep It Simple” would be the top one them.

      1. No worries, glad to help out where I could. This site is great and the supercoach community more broadly.

I’m in both the writers and supercoach community on twitter and the supercoaches are waaaay more helpful and interested in improving and a whole lot less emo.

Next year? I’m already onto the second draft of my 2021 team.

  15. 2461 / Gawn / up 1627, final ranking 7343

Great finish after getting belted with the injury stick in the first few rounds. 16 tons this week and only a few spud scores from the likes of Crippa, Ridley, Bailey Smith and Williams prevented a real beast result.

Massive thank you to absolutely everyone who contributed to the site this season in any way, no matter how small. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that this has been an extremely challenging year in so many ways, but we made it through and hopefully we can get back to something like normal next year. Also a big thank you to all who did the heavy lifting at the AFL to ensure we even had footy, and to those at SCHQ who had to make some tough decisions in short timeframes to allow us all to keep playing this game we all love.

As for me, I’ll be sitting back and enjoying the finals (even without my Swans taking part) and then resting up for the summer. Big season coming in 2021, hope to see you all here then!

    2. Chillo I had you in the GF for SCT-8. You gave me an almighty heart attack with Houston and DBJ going ham last night.

I know I speak for a lot of people when I say a huge thanks for all your hard work on the articles over such a difficult year. It’s the first year my mate and I have taken SC on and stumbling upon SCT was the pick of the season!

      Enjoy your off season

I’ve actually run 2 teams this year with different strategies.
    (i) Selective guns and mids – finished 62 (stayed top 100 all season)
(ii) Traditional guns & rookies – finished 131 (started slow and came home strong)

I think the G&M strategy worked really well at the start but the extra 5 trades granted through the year swung the advantage back towards G&R. A really engaging season for us fantasy fanatics.

A big THANKYOU to the entire SCT team. Your efforts this year in keeping us all educated and informed has been outstanding. Especially with games being played every day for weeks. I really appreciate the match eve team announcements – always on time and ahead of the TV news. I also found the pre-match confirmation of final teams extremely valuable (even if it was just to say No Changes).

Looking forward to next year when we do it all again! Cheers all.

    1. Well done. I was wondering about that macro choice of G&M vrs G&R
Looks like both were viable over the shorter season?

I would guess that G&R would have been better over a longer season

      0

      0
      1. The shorter season didn’t really give enough time for the G&R Rookies to fatten to do full premo upgrades. But when the extra five trades where made available for the bye rounds, it meant being able to generate cash quicker by cashing in the rookies sooner.

My view G&M would have been the better strategy for the shortened season without the extra trades.

My best year and a lot of it is thanks to the great people of this site.
Slightly disappointing final week, as was projected for around 2,660 before the round started.
Made 5 GF’s from 6 leagues and won 3 of them.

Probably my biggest win strategy wise was to splurge on durable gun keepers in the mids, started with Dunkley, Macrae, Mitchell, Danger and Oliver who all delivered in spades, except for Dunkley who I traded to Neale when he got injured.

Absolutely pumped with my final overall ranking.

Also won my cash Draft league on the side too…

Already planning my assault on 2021.

    5

    1. My biggest take away was pick ultra durable players because the net effect of having them most weeks allows you to do useful things with your trades. And decreases the chances of running out of trades in a given week.

What are you thoughts for 2021?

      1

      0
      1. Absolutely spot on GP.
I deliberately avoided Coniglio, Josh Kelly and Fyfe this year for that exact reason.
It’s hard to watch when they are in purple patches of great form, but it’s worth just sticking with reliables.

Father Dougal wrote an article a couple seasons ago referring to trades as the ‘oxygen’ for your SC team: basically saying without freedom to use trades for upgrades, your team is going nowhere if all you are doing is working out how to cover injuries all the time.

I actually finished with one trade left too, which felt a bit weird, but it wasn’t worth using as I was full premo with Williams D6 and Simpkin F6 my only real weak links

Fell about 670 spots for the final round. Lost my main GF by 25 pts.
What an interesting year, it was just hectic from go to wo. Regardless of the hectic pace patience prove to help in the end as I decided against trading Doherty out as I had Greaves as backup. Walters wasn’t selected and I went with Brayshaw, that probably lost me the grand final. Won’t be long until we’re all that again, bring it on.

  22. Final rank of 1487 – my first year of playing properly ie trading for $$ and increasing premos rather than just “trading”. Won one grand final out of 3 but won the one i wanted to. Already planning next year lol.

Thanks to all in the community who helped me out this season and well done everyone 🙂

  23. 2414 for the round and 2888 for the season, far cry from last years efforts but happy to finish with a decent score.

Bad luck Yiorgi, was a bloody great effort ti get where you finished. Just shy of the cookies there, Mcrae picked the wrong week to have a quiet one and with your opponent having danger and scored about 50 points per goal! Legendary effort eithrr way!

  24. 2,140/Macrae/563/Lost only granny easily

What a roller-coaster of a season! Was 28,000th after the Bombers/Dees fiasco round 3 and traded relatively aggressively resulting in me sitting at 128th after round 16 and hopeful of my first top 100 finish. Well two bad rounds with sub-par premo scores and a Doc donut certainly extinguished such hopes meaning its the 3rd time I’ve finished in the 500’s.

Well done to all that persisted with the season and a special thanks to all of the contributors on here. I hope everyone is back again next year, it is a great game and a lot of fun and hopefully its a bit more normal!
