This blows me away how it’s so one sided.. I’m actually in the camp of trading Grundy swinging Jackson to R1/2 and grabbing Martin. It sounds like that’s what your doing?
I’m honestly not sure why we started the year with him in the team. Can still find the ball and use it OK, so will score well wnough when named, but is a prime sub risk even if he makes the 23. Probably only likely to play if Neale or Dunkley are rested/injured from this point on.
Maybe don’t burn the boost if you can just do Howes and Jordon to one of Clohesy or Graham and someone. No need to be boosting pink out for a rookie that isn’t on the bubble yet
He already missed a game due to injury, hasn’t actually gone above 130 so far, declined from 122 to 110 last year and, oh, he was subbed off last week with an ankle injury.
Maybe not as mind blown as you GD but absolutely agree with the sentiment. Had a shoulder early in the year, missed a game, then subbed out with an ankle last week. Hold off for a couple more weeks to see if can get back on track.
I think I’m playing the BE game this week
Berry BE <50 – Lohman if named on field and not sub
Pink is a dud – Clothesline, this guy looked good. Potential RS chance – Going early
Wilson BE <50 – Sharp – Sharp's BE is -50 something – He is a ready made footballer, another RS chance, going to be eaisly a 400k+ Player
You think I'm cray-cray? My team is pretty set for DDP additions and the string of games with no byes.
Used 4 boosts
TU – You're cooked, have another hit
TD – Bold strategy – 40 trades is ample starting point to burn early trades to set up your team for a midseason attack. Most of my upgrades will be easily done using only 2 trades at a time
Think it’s pretty bold to assume all your upgrades will be accomplished with just 2 trades. Personally I’m holding both Pink and Wilson so I can actually make some money from trading them out and wouldn’t be burning a boost to move weither on right now. Sharp is a lot to pay and even if he gets to $400k, that’s the same cash gen as Clohesy getting to $250
I know he has the bye this week but with Heeney is it at that point now that I have to ride it out and get him when he comes down in price.
TU – Yeah wait
TD – He aint ever coming down
Said TU as personally I would be more comfortable going early on Ramsden instead of Graham due to the injuries in the forward line for the Hawks. I don’t really know much about Graham to make a spot on prediction however
I’m trying to think of a realistic situation where 2 of Georgiadis, Comben and Ramsden need to be brought in next week, and I am really really struggling.
Reeves named an emergency.
What are the odds this kills plans re Meek? Was only looking at him as a R2 for the next two rounds to cover Grundy/Gawn (holding both) then back out with some money made.
TU: Meek out of the equation
TD: Still worth a gamble.
Meek will be fine..
Reeves is just named to cover their arse incase meek goes down between now and the match with anything.
Might go there myself yet. Missed sharp, dempsey and carroll so I need some form of cash generation. Briggs 2.0 and I made that play last season, worked out okay.
RoMa is already averaging 10 pts p/game lower than English and Ross has floated that Campbell will come into the team at some stage soon so that Marshall can have a rest and/or play forward so you could be locking in a 20pts p/game loss by not getting english.
English l/y had 3 sub 100 scores and he also had 13 games at 130+
For Comparison RoMa had 7 scores sub 100 l/y and only 6 games 130+
If you exclude players with less than 3 games english is ranked 11th for overall ave RoMa is ranked 21st.
You need English Marshall is not in same league
TU: Worth using a boost for:
Jordon, Grundy, Wardlaw -> Steele, Marshall, Ramsden
would leave $23,000 in hand
Next week cash in 2 of Sexton/Jhye Clark/Howes for Clohesy and the best of Comben/Georgiades/Graham
TD: Don’t use boost
Wardlaw, Grundy -> Meek, Steele
Leaves $44,500 in hand
Grundy to Xerri . Hoping to move Xerri to English or Marshall in a few weeks
McKercher to Martin. Undecided on this one. Could wait a week and get any of Whitfield, Houston or Miller.
Everyone seems to be jumping off Grundy. I have him (with Gawn) and as much as I don’t plan on him being my R2 all season, I was thinking I’m ok to hold him for now, even though I could upgrade him to Marshall this week, and keep Jackson as my F1 (resulting in one extra premo on field this round).
I was thinking whilst I still have rookies on field, I’d much rather work towards upgrading them first, as trading Grundy now seems more like a luxury trade, not a must do trade (he’s not injured). I’d be very interested in a poll or some thumbs up/thumbs down to the question –
IF you have Grundy, are you holding or trading this week?
I traded Grundy to Gawn because I started him & Xerri and expected both to increase their ave by 30pts+ Grundy doesn’t look like doing that so he can go now to correct the not starting Max mistake .
$102k price dif at start and $159k this week, I don’t want to continue the loss in points and $
Grundy has 2 byes in the next 8 weeks. Difficult fixture, fundamentally ass player who should’ve become a local barista in Adelaide somewhere. Grundy’s cash allows you to facilitate an upgrade this week and set yourself up to ping English at his lowest in 2-3 weeks or ping Marshall now at likely his basement price.
I could hold him if he isn’t and hope for a spike game. If sub though he’s cooked..
I need to make my trades before st Kildas game which will be before Adelaide announce sub because I’ll be swinging Wilson FWD.
It’s between Cook and Berry I’d say on who is sub. Not sure they’d want to have a key fwd, def or Crouch as sub.
I’m guessing Cook is sub after 56% TOG last week and Berry almost outscored him in less time
I invested the $100k this week to upgrade Grundy to Marshall. Fix the problem now. Gawn is my 2nd ruck and I will keep Jackson as a forward (and ruck cover as required – as he will end up in the top 6 forwards for the year). No need to cash him out.
My top end rookies are, and I hope they keep scoring relatively well, making good $ for the next 3-5 rounds, then it’s upgrade season. I only need 50% of them to go 90+ to stay in the game, which they have to date.
Steele (Mr Consistent) was one I considered to upgrade instead of Marshall, but Marshall has a higher ceiling and might just hit his straps and go large consistently.
I am also keeping the byes in mind to field the best performers week in week out for long term. Having 20-22 on ground for best 18 rounds provides better odds on my return for SC scores each week.
The news of taranto out for an extended stint makes baker a little more relevant, with DEF/FWD DPP with a locked in mid role?
Since going into the midfield 2 weeks ago bakers gone 140 and 93 and this news can only help… I think he’s a serviceable F6/D6 for a long while. Handy if you still have one of Fisher, buku or comben next week.
has the bye next week but has a BE of 25 so it’s now or never, very risky.
Does English having a stinker 2nite make the grundy to meek trade more appealing?
Grundy to meek banks 150k pray meek makes 100-150k. In the meantime English drops 100k and we trade meek up to English for peanuts … I’m desperate for cash generation after missing sharp, dempsey, carroll and massimo.
Could it work out?
FWIW I firmly believe meek holds reeves out
Trade a failed midpice and have a big bank for upgrade season
VS
Trade a dead rookie and leave Fisher onfield upgrade around him. But no Bank for upgrades.
Is Flanders worth the cash to buy in now ?. Would definitely do it if he was playing in the midfield but off half back might see his scoring drop.
Tu – yes buy now
Td – wait up grade elsewhere
Looking for a Hail Mary to improve my score. Is it worth trading out Pink for T Brown? Realize I’ve missed his first price increase but with a BE of -33 and projected to increase 47k this week, is paying $213,800 worth it? I still have Z Reid not earning me anything either.
would you use a boost to sideways jhye clark to tom brown?
Is it worth trading out Zac fisher for sharp to generate cash?
TU Yes
TD No
If trading Grundy (and having Jackson as cover) was the only way to get N.Martin would you do it?
TU – Yes required to get in
TD – No hold Grundy
This blows me away how it’s so one sided.. I’m actually in the camp of trading Grundy swinging Jackson to R1/2 and grabbing Martin. It sounds like that’s what your doing?
I’ve kept Lyons for this long and he’s not named again. Should I stop holding on to hope and just trade him out?
I’m honestly not sure why we started the year with him in the team. Can still find the ball and use it OK, so will score well wnough when named, but is a prime sub risk even if he makes the 23. Probably only likely to play if Neale or Dunkley are rested/injured from this point on.
If this is my only week to afford Nic Martin (potential top 6 Def + nice DPP), is cashing in McKercher worth it?
Can we restart the season?
Going early on McKercher ..
T/U Steele
T/D Flanders
Yet to win a league. Scoring is super average need to make some moves to get W’s.. defence is very thin
Howes, Pink, Jordan > Yeo, Clohesy, Graham
TU – 3 stupid trades
TD – Time of need, pull the trigger
Maybe don’t burn the boost if you can just do Howes and Jordon to one of Clohesy or Graham and someone. No need to be boosting pink out for a rookie that isn’t on the bubble yet
Yeah it’s a good call. Unfortunately I have $200 in the bank. And some very skinny rookies
Something like Howes and Jordon to JHF and either Clohesy or Graham could be possible with no bank at all
Thoughts on Neale as a Pod???
Seriously? How does this have 13-0 TUs? Wtf.
He already missed a game due to injury, hasn’t actually gone above 130 so far, declined from 122 to 110 last year and, oh, he was subbed off last week with an ankle injury.
I would not be bothering AT ALL.
Maybe not as mind blown as you GD but absolutely agree with the sentiment. Had a shoulder early in the year, missed a game, then subbed out with an ankle last week. Hold off for a couple more weeks to see if can get back on track.
Lol. Hey, James. I feel like I’m tripping balls.
Rozee, Rowell, Libba, Steele, Miller, Martin, Young. Come off it. Neale? That ain’t it.
Thinking of using a boost for the following:
OUT: Sexton, Z Reid, Dawson
IN: Ramsden, Clohesy, Neale
TU: Worth going now
TD: Hold off a week
Hey yo! 😛

Bad moves.
Get some fresh CG in and do an upgrade this week.
I know he has the bye this week but with Heeney is it at that point now that I have to ride it out and get him when he comes down in price.
TU – Yeah wait
TD – He aint ever coming down
Going early on Clohesy and Graham so that I have trades in case 2 of Georgiadis, Comben and Ramsden need to be brought in next week.
Bowes, D’Ambrosio (or McKercher) & Jordon to Clohesy, Graham & Steele
T/D: Do it
T/U: Don’t do it
Said TU as personally I would be more comfortable going early on Ramsden instead of Graham due to the injuries in the forward line for the Hawks. I don’t really know much about Graham to make a spot on prediction however
I’m wary of Ramsden being only used as a tall forward, can’t see him usurping Meek or Reeves, and Mitch Lewis back in a couple weeks… JS is shaky…?
I’m trying to think of a realistic situation where 2 of Georgiadis, Comben and Ramsden need to be brought in next week, and I am really really struggling.
Port with a tough fixture. See how Georgiades goes v Freo.
Comben needs to go atleast 75 to justify bringing him at 230k as North player.
Ramsden just needs to play.
If all three get shoved down our throat, I’d honestly go there.
Is it too late to go on Dempsey?
Grundy to;
TU: Nic Martin
TD: English
Nic Martin probably the sensible play considering his low BE. Can swing Jackson into R2.
Reeves named an emergency.
What are the odds this kills plans re Meek? Was only looking at him as a R2 for the next two rounds to cover Grundy/Gawn (holding both) then back out with some money made.
TU: Meek out of the equation

He’s an emergency, which he was last week. He wasn’t ‘named’ and brought in or anything.
Meek fine if you’re going there.
Meek will be fine..

trade
pink & mckercher to clohesy & martin (traded out martin round 1 but hard to pass up)
T/U – worth it
T/D – hold off
extra q
T/U – mckercher to martin
T/D – mckercher to JHF
Martin or Crouch?
T/U: Martin
T/d: Crouch
Thanks
Leaning to bringing in Meek as I’ve missed the Sharp & Dempsey cash gen.
Thinking of Jordon to Meek, so I can hold Grundy as cover for Max next week. Downside is booking an extra trade of Grundy or Meek (if he bombs)
T/U – Jordon & Lazarro to Meek & Clohsey
T/D – Grundy & Jordon to Meek & Clohsey
Strategy question
Grundy to
Thumbs up – Marshall ( keeper R2 )
Thumbs down – Meek ( make cash get English later )
RoMa is already averaging 10 pts p/game lower than English and Ross has floated that Campbell will come into the team at some stage soon so that Marshall can have a rest and/or play forward so you could be locking in a 20pts p/game loss by not getting english.

Need to facilitate Steele in for Jordon.
Which trade that unlocks that move appeals more:
TU) LDU -> Nic Martin
TD) Carroll (if sub) or Clark -> Will Graham
Looking to use my first boost this week.
Trades so far: Grundy to Marshall
Jordan to Clohesy
TU: upgrade dambrosio to Green/any mid
TD: lazzaro to Sharp for cash gen
Cheers
Trading Martin in for.
T/U McKercher
T/D Carroll
TU Merret
TD Rowell
Have 35 trades and 4 boosts
TU: Worth using a boost for:
Jordon, Grundy, Wardlaw -> Steele, Marshall, Ramsden
would leave $23,000 in hand
Next week cash in 2 of Sexton/Jhye Clark/Howes for Clohesy and the best of Comben/Georgiades/Graham
TD: Don’t use boost
Wardlaw, Grundy -> Meek, Steele
Leaves $44,500 in hand
Trades already locked in….
Howes -> Clohesy
Jordon -> N. Martin
TU – J. Clark -> N. Graham (14,400 ITB)
TD – Grundy -> Meek (95,400 ITB)
Thanks everyone!
TU. Steele
TD. Martin
Grundy to Xerri . Hoping to move Xerri to English or Marshall in a few weeks
McKercher to Martin. Undecided on this one. Could wait a week and get any of Whitfield, Houston or Miller.
T/U Do the trades
T/D Wait a week on the Martin trade
If going for a low priced ruck to generate cash, you’ve gotta go Meek over Xerri. Doesn’t have to do much at all to make more cash
Can you bring back in Martin after you dumped him 2-3 weeks ago?
TU: don’t do it to yourself.
TD: yep everyone makes mistakes, get him
I don’t think you should. He might have a bad few weeks and make you regret it and want to trade him again, don’t get burnt twice.
I would target a falling premo like TStew who could provide value at a similar price in a couple weeks.
Lazzaro straight swap to Darcy for cash gen and someone actually playing?
Everyone seems to be jumping off Grundy. I have him (with Gawn) and as much as I don’t plan on him being my R2 all season, I was thinking I’m ok to hold him for now, even though I could upgrade him to Marshall this week, and keep Jackson as my F1 (resulting in one extra premo on field this round).

IF you have Grundy, are you holding or trading this week?
TU: Holding
TD: Trading
And if you have Grundy and are trading him this week –
TU : Trading up to English / Marshall
TD: Trading down to Meek etc for cash grab
I traded Grundy to Gawn because I started him & Xerri and expected both to increase their ave by 30pts+ Grundy doesn’t look like doing that so he can go now to correct the not starting Max mistake .
$102k price dif at start and $159k this week, I don’t want to continue the loss in points and $
I’m not sure why I’d upgrade Grundy so early. I feel it is a 20-30 point difference compared to upgrading a 60-70 point rookie to a 110+ premo
Adelaide’s bench:

Berry is sub again for sure isn’t he?

*Watch TDs role in thick and fast* lol
I either have to go early on Comben or bring in Lazzaro. Who should I pick? Who do we think has the better JS?
TU: Comben

Happy to back in the Grundy > Meek > English play. Bank 150k let Meek make 150k then jump on English with loose change. But doesn’t come without risk.
I think I’m going to do the same on the Grundy-Meek trade mate! Too much value in a couple weeks time with Trac and English not to make a play at it.
Captain;
tu – butters
Td – Serong
Or Luke Ryan?
Has anyone got an updated percentage for Sam Darcy’s ruck time after last nights game?
Boosting LDU to Steele. I’ll save the thesis. Wonder how the others on the site view that move.
TU) Good move, Steele is Uber, LDU is a 105-110 at best
TD) Waste of a boost/trade
Upgrade rookie to Steele worth a boost. Sideways underperforming premo, worth a trade but not a boost
If your captain is not in your best 18 (English 58) do you get your vice scoring..I have a feeling its going to be nt the answer i’m seeking!
Is Flanders worth the cash to buy in now ?. Would definitely do it if he was playing in the midfield but off half back might see his scoring drop.

Hi,
TU Take D. Wilson’s 61
TD Roll the dice with S. Campbell vs WC
Thank you.

Sam Walsh?
