This blows me away how it’s so one sided.. I’m actually in the camp of trading Grundy swinging Jackson to R1/2 and grabbing Martin. It sounds like that’s what your doing?
I’ve kept Lyons for this long and he’s not named again. Should I stop holding on to hope and just trade him out?
I’m honestly not sure why we started the year with him in the team. Can still find the ball and use it OK, so will score well wnough when named, but is a prime sub risk even if he makes the 23. Probably only likely to play if Neale or Dunkley are rested/injured from this point on.
If this is my only week to afford Nic Martin (potential top 6 Def + nice DPP), is cashing in McKercher worth it?

He already missed a game due to injury, hasn’t actually gone above 130 so far, declined from 122 to 110 last year and, oh, he was subbed off last week with an ankle injury.
I would not be bothering AT ALL.
Maybe not as mind blown as you GD but absolutely agree with the sentiment. Had a shoulder early in the year, missed a game, then subbed out with an ankle last week. Hold off for a couple more weeks to see if can get back on track.

Think it’s pretty bold to assume all your upgrades will be accomplished with just 2 trades. Personally I’m holding both Pink and Wilson so I can actually make some money from trading them out and wouldn’t be burning a boost to move weither on right now. Sharp is a lot to pay and even if he gets to $400k, that’s the same cash gen as Clohesy getting to $250

I’m trying to think of a realistic situation where 2 of Georgiadis, Comben and Ramsden need to be brought in next week, and I am really really struggling.

RoMa is already averaging 10 pts p/game lower than English and Ross has floated that Campbell will come into the team at some stage soon so that Marshall can have a rest and/or play forward so you could be locking in a 20pts p/game loss by not getting english.
English l/y had 3 sub 100 scores and he also had 13 games at 130+
For Comparison RoMa had 7 scores sub 100 l/y and only 6 games 130+
If you exclude players with less than 3 games english is ranked 11th for overall ave RoMa is ranked 21st.
You need English Marshall is not in same league

I don’t think you should. He might have a bad few weeks and make you regret it and want to trade him again, don’t get burnt twice.

Everyone seems to be jumping off Grundy. I have him (with Gawn) and as much as I don’t plan on him being my R2 all season, I was thinking I’m ok to hold him for now, even though I could upgrade him to Marshall this week, and keep Jackson as my F1 (resulting in one extra premo on field this round).
I was thinking whilst I still have rookies on field, I’d much rather work towards upgrading them first, as trading Grundy now seems more like a luxury trade, not a must do trade (he’s not injured). I’d be very interested in a poll or some thumbs up/thumbs down to the question –

I traded Grundy to Gawn because I started him & Xerri and expected both to increase their ave by 30pts+ Grundy doesn’t look like doing that so he can go now to correct the not starting Max mistake .
$102k price dif at start and $159k this week, I don’t want to continue the loss in points and $
I’m not sure why I’d upgrade Grundy so early. I feel it is a 20-30 point difference compared to upgrading a 60-70 point rookie to a 110+ premo
Grundy has 2 byes in the next 8 weeks. Difficult fixture, fundamentally ass player who should’ve become a local barista in Adelaide somewhere. Grundy’s cash allows you to facilitate an upgrade this week and set yourself up to ping English at his lowest in 2-3 weeks or ping Marshall now at likely his basement price.

It’s between Cook and Berry I’d say on who is sub. Not sure they’d want to have a key fwd, def or Crouch as sub.
I’m guessing Cook is sub after 56% TOG last week and Berry almost outscored him in less time
I invested the $100k this week to upgrade Grundy to Marshall. Fix the problem now. Gawn is my 2nd ruck and I will keep Jackson as a forward (and ruck cover as required – as he will end up in the top 6 forwards for the year). No need to cash him out.
My top end rookies are, and I hope they keep scoring relatively well, making good $ for the next 3-5 rounds, then it’s upgrade season. I only need 50% of them to go 90+ to stay in the game, which they have to date.
Steele (Mr Consistent) was one I considered to upgrade instead of Marshall, but Marshall has a higher ceiling and might just hit his straps and go large consistently.
I am also keeping the byes in mind to field the best performers week in week out for long term. Having 20-22 on ground for best 18 rounds provides better odds on my return for SC scores each week.

The news of taranto out for an extended stint makes baker a little more relevant, with DEF/FWD DPP with a locked in mid role?
Since going into the midfield 2 weeks ago bakers gone 140 and 93 and this news can only help… I think he’s a serviceable F6/D6 for a long while. Handy if you still have one of Fisher, buku or comben next week.

Grundy to meek banks 150k pray meek makes 100-150k. In the meantime English drops 100k and we trade meek up to English for peanuts … I’m desperate for cash generation after missing sharp, dempsey, carroll and massimo.
