He will miss the Crows’ round one clash with St Kilda.

Callum Mills is set to be sidelined until Round 4 (after Sydney’s early-season bye), with scans revealing a tear in his plantar fascia.
“Callum had been managing his plantar fasciitis well, however he required follow up imaging with the results last night revealing Callum has sustained a tear of the plantar fascia,” Raper said.
“After consultation with our medical team, we believe the best course of action is to spend two weeks in a boot, before reassessing Callum’s return to play program.
“Unfortunately, this means he will be unavailable to play prior to the club’s Round 3 bye.”

Western Bulldogs not concerned and as a precaution ensuring Bont is right for round 1,
Zak Butters has undergone a successful arthroscopy to tidy up a loose body found in the knee since last Friday’s pre-season match.
The injury was likely a result of a heavy knock to the knee, which also caused some bone bruising.
Zak Butters is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
Western Bulldogs:
Marcus Bontempelli set for scans on his calf
Bailey Dale will play VFL next weekend
Ed Richards with a calf concerns is touch and go for R1.
Marcus Bontempelli ruled out for the next six weeks with a calf injury. AFL
Western Bulldogs: Marcus Bontempelli out for at least the next six weeks with a complex calf injury.
The 29-year-old underwent scans in Melbourne on Friday afternoon, which have revealed more extensive damage than first thought.
Bontempelli has now been ruled out until after Gather Round at the earliest.
“While the Club was optimistic of a positive result overnight, scans have revealed a complex injury with tendon involvement,” the Bulldogs’ medical boss Chris Bell said.
“Unfortunately, the structures involved with this particular injury are prone to having recurrent issues so we will need to follow a conservative management timeline to give Marcus the best chance of a successful season.”

St Kilda: Injury report –
Mitchito Owens has received “promising” scan results on his injured shoulder but will need further assessment to determine when he’ll be fit to return.
“Mitch’s shoulder joint is stable, but his AC joint copped a knock in the incident,” Saints footy boss Dave Mission said.
“The scans this morning were promising, but we’ll seek further advice from specialists to help assess the best course of action from here.”
Cooper Sharman, who will require surgery on a fractured thumb.Timeframe for return not known.
Rowan Marshall and Jack Sinclair trained fully as they look to prove their fitness for the round one game.

Gold Coast Suns Injury List – Monday, March 3, 2025
Touk Miller has overcome a knee injury and has been declared fit to face Essendon.
David Swallow is expected to miss eight weeks after sustaining a PCL injury to his knee in the AAMI Community Series fixture against Sydney.
Mac Andrew (chest), Lachie Weller (hamstring) and Charlie Ballard (ankle) are all listed as tests for the Opening Round after the trio left the field early in last Friday’s pre-season match.
The trio will look to train this week in order to be available for selection.
Sam Flanders (back) has been unavailable for both pre-season practice matches and won’t feature in Opening Round, with the midfielder one to two weeks away from a return.
Leo Lombard has undergone surgery on his shoulder which was injured in match simulation against the Brisbane Lions and is expected to be sidelined until mid-season.
The AFL is expected to postpone both Opening Round matches scheduled for Queensland amid Cyclone Alfred fears.
The two Opening Round games in Queensland have been postponed due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Brisbane’s match against Geelong at the Gabba on Thursday night and Gold Coast’s game against Essendon at People First Stadium on Saturday afternoon will now be played later in the season, with those details yet to be determined by the AFL.
Sydney and Hawthorn will open the season at the SCG on Friday night before Greater Western Sydney will host Collingwood on Sunday.
Well that makes it interesting now if lions don’t have 2 byes. Should I try to squeeze in Neale and Zorko?
TU you’d be crazy not to!
TD nah their best is in the past move on…
Do we know if they wont have two byes? AFL site still has then having a bye in round 3
The AFL have not issued a new schedule for the postponed games.
The general consensus is that obvious solution for the Brisbane v Geelong game is to transfer it to round 3, where both clubs have the bye,
The main issue is the Gold Coast v Essendon game?
Many permutations are being considered. It is a complex situation which may involve multiple clubs having their schedule altered. All speculation at the moment.
Will update when the AFL make an announcement regarding the fixture.
Fremantle: Nathan O’Driscoll
“He adds flexibility to play inside and out for us. In the second half, especially that last quarter, his run was really important to us. A lot of guys were stopping. He had a lot of energy.”
Justin Longmuir
Incidentally,
OPENING ROUND
is an anagram of
POURING – NO END.
Not my quote, just borrowed. lol.
when is this weekends lock out now?
No lockout this week. R0 doesn’t count. It is a rolling lockout starting in R1. We can make unlimited changes to our team from now until Thursday night. After Thursday nights game starts you can’t put any Carlton or Richmond players in your team, but you still have unlimited trades for players from other teams. This progresses game by game. The final lockout is before the WCE v Suns on Sunday night.
Does that still apply to 12 team leagues, where first round of competition starts in R3?
Yes it does
With the AFL potentially playing Essendon Gold Coast after round 24 ie after the SuperCoach grand finals. This would mean having zerrett Andersen etc a waste . A lot of water to go under the bridge yet but this scenario has been tossed up.
Playing them after Rd 23 is the same as playing Rd 0. Scores won’t count either way. They’d still have the same byes.
Only change is that they would miss a price change, because Rd 0 scores still account for price changes.
Hi..please join our league #791743
**BEGINNERS ONLY PLEASE**
Could someone please help me on the first round of head to head s.c.games..is it round 1 or round 2 or just commencement date.
I think it might depend on how many teams your league has?
Individual leagues depends on how the commissioner has set it up. These are default options:
H2H – 20 teams, starts Rd 2, top 8 finals Rd 21 (9th-16th Minor Finals, all teams play each other once)
H2H – 10 teams, starts Rd 3, top 8 finals Rd 21 (all teams play each other twice)
H2H – 10 teams, starts Rd 3, top 5 finals Rd 21 (6th-10th Minor Finals, all teams play each other twice)
There is also a custom setting for those who want to get fancy. You would need to view each leagues settings to find what you are looking for.
Thank you for replying.
Sydney: Two debutants for Friday night’s game against Hawthorn at the SCG –
Tom Hanily MID $119k

The AFL has rescheduled both of Queensland’s Opening Round fixtures after Tropical Cyclone Alfred forced the postponements of games in Brisbane and the Gold Coast this week.
Brisbane v Geelong to be played on the Saturday of round three at 6.35pm AEST (7.35pm AEDT).
Gold Coast v Essendon game will be played in R24 with both clubs to play two games in same round given their existing matchups against Port Adelaide & Carlton. The league will confirm its floating fixture down the track but will maximise the breaks between games for Suns and Bombers as best it can between the existing game, this game and the first final.
Wonder what that means for SC. Guessing the second Ess v GC game in R24 gets taken out otherwise there will massive trade in of players from those teams for that round. ?
AFL Fantasy have released an update on the two postponed Opening Round fixtures after they were rescheduled.
– Round three: Brisbane v Geelong will count in Fantasy
– Round 24: Gold Coast v Essendon will not count in Fantasy
I would imagine that Supercoach will be the same
it is quite usual to have Double game weeks in EPL fantasy (usually due to european games and FA cup). always a bonus to load up on players with a double game for the round. would have been interesting to have that happen in AFL.
BBL too…..
Toby Bedford to tag Nick Daicos.
“I would think that’s likely. Nick’s probably the best player in the competition so he’s an outstanding player, he’s a great contributor to the way they want to play, he’s super important to them so he’s certainly one that we’ll look very closely at,” he said.
“Toby’s the obvious one to go to him.”

GWS: Tom Green – “We were expecting to see him after the bye. Now it’s looks more likely that he’ll be right next week. Clearly there’s a bit of work to do still.”

1 match and Toby Greene has already copped 2 fines.
Footy season is back!!
The only thing for sure in AFL is Toby will get suspended at least once
Can’t fit both so which one to pick
TU Lalor
TD o’Sullivan
in my backline i have Lachlan ash, is he going to be a sustainable pick getting 100 plus each week or should i trade for a different 500k or less player for back, open to suggestions?
Would someone be able to give me information on what rookies to keep and what rookies to go, as some of my rookies were only getting 30 such as Sheldrick from Sydney.
We are all thinking the same thing, pot luck for rookies at RD 1. Basic rules keep the ones that are playing and get rid of the ones that aren’t
Essendon have confirmed debuts for –
Isaac Kako 149.5k MID/FWD
Jaxon Prior 169.2k DEF
Finn O’Sullivan (199k MID) to debut for North Melbourne.
Gold Coast :
Lachie Weller and Charlie Ballard will be available for Sunday’s game against WCE.
Sam Flanders (back) and Mac Andrew (chest) will both miss.
Looks like Bo Allan will miss round 1 with Illness.
He might still be worth starting to offer a DPP loophole round 1 as WCE play late
