There’s 1 league with my workmates in particular that i really want to win. That said, I’d like to improve my overall ranking at the same time.
The age old question. For me it is somewhere in between. Rank is important but it doesn’t mean that much unless you’re right at the pointy end. Where as winning a league with mates where there is $$$ involved means a hell of a lot more.
I’m in no cash leagues so overall rank is most important for me.
I figure that if I focus on overall rank , leagues will take care of it self.
Having said that as I am generally aggressive in trading I don’t have trades left by semi or grand final and having ultimate coverage over rd 15 bye week with no head to heads that round will ultimately cost me a few finals as well.
I’m still undecided. Which is making this week so bloody hard. Never have the strategies for both been so different re: next week when leagues have a bye but overall continues.
Currently ranked 900 so I really want to come home strong and try and crack the top 500. Bit of prestige and opens up applications for top leagues next year such as LoEC, etc.
However, I’m definitely out of the running for any cash so should I just concentrate on leagues? I’m in a couple of very competitive ones so would love to be on top of the banter over the summer.
Really need to decide very soon as it has an impact on whether to trade out Neale or not.
Personally, unless those leagues were cash leagues, I’d be all about overall rank if I were in your position.

League this year as i’m way to cooked for overall
I am in 3 very competitive leagues and I want to win for the money and banter. I was aiming for overall and cracked the top 500 but few bad moves during the condensed period and top 500 is now out of the windows. So, since the byes fixtures have been announced, I am focusing on leagues wins and therefore in my trades strategy, I dont have to worry about R15 bye.
However I know it wont (6 premos out R15) but if that helps my overall, that’s a bonus
As someone mentioned above I’m playing for overall & league results will hopefully go my way. Seems to be working as I’ve finished top 2 in all of my leagues this year.
Hoping to get in top 1k in overall to make in 3 out of the last 4 seasons.

But, I am having my best ever overall year. Was just in the top 1000 2 weeks ago, need to get back but won’t care if I win the comp!
A bit of both. I’d prefer overall, so if I can finish in the top 1000 this year after last years disaster I’ll be happy. But at the same time I’ve got one league in particular that I’ve been in for 10+ seasons that I like to go well in. I’ve finished top 4 every year except for 1 and haven’t won it yet lol. So frustrating. I’m minor premier this year…
