Polls: Post-Bye Strategy

Written by The Salamander on June 23 2021

We spent a lot of time thinking about how we were going to navigate the byes over the last month or so… but have we thought about what comes afterwards?

Most teams don’t seem to be at full-premium yet. Most of us have also burned through a lot of trades. I think most of us know by now what sort of carnage lies ahead towards the end of the season (hint for first-year coaches: it’s bad. Very, very bad).

Given the time of year, at what point is it time to stop trying to upgrade, and just hold on for dear life?

Assuming you’re going to keep on upgrading, would you rather go top-heavy, and make sure you’ve got the top scorers, even if it means leaving a couple of rookies or mid-pricers on the field, or would you rather get all the rookies off the field, even if it means taking in guys who will only average 90 to 95 for the rest of the year?

Assuming these were your only options, which way would you go?

Finally, what should we do about active (playing) rookies left on the bench? What’s the right balance between extracting cash and having cover?

What to do with active bench rookies?

    1. For the same reason I wanted to keep Poulter, but it is looking like I need his cash to get the last couple guys in that I need.
He would have been brilliant cover fwd/mid.
