After agonizing over Macrae, Bont, Satan, Gawn and Racca all as potential VCs, I did an Allen Ginsberg and went “first thought, best thought” with who I had penciled in after SC opened last weekend: Macrae.
Looped Jordon and Weightman, will take both.
A premo or two behind on the rest of the comp due to my rigid guns and rookies starting structure, but drilling the VC should help me keep pace this weekend.
When you say you’re a premium or two behind the rest of the comp, I’m interested in how many onfield rookies you currently have GB? I still have 5 and can’t see that I will ever get to replace them all, won’t have enough trades unfortunately due to all the forced injury trades.
Started 12 keepers + Clark D4, but no F3 and no Ziebell, Impey or Daniher. Paid up for the big premos, including 5x 620k+ MIDs in Neale, Macrae, Satan, Bont and Zerrett.
So behind teams who astutely started 200k midpricers that turned in premos.
Other than Grundy, (who I think will do a Gawny ie less ruck challenge, but ops better mids,) what other options do you think you have?…..although now that I’ve just said that, no Duncan and a sus Guthrie Hmmm….nah still Geelong atm…
I’m taking Gawn score over Grundy. You don’t know if Grundy gets injured early in game and scores 5. All you going to gain if Grundy scores 120-130 is 10-20 poiunts.
And those 10-20 points could be the difference between winning and losing 😉 He hasn’t missed a game in his last 3 seasons so I’m not too worried about him getting injured. I back him especially at the G where he has a great average. Also coming up against a team that doesn’t have a proper ruckman.
VC on Gawn so will have to think about keeping that or going Grundy. Most opponents had VC on either Macrae or Oliver. Had the emergency on both Jordan and Weightman. Will definitely loophole Jordan’s score and relegate RCD to the bench. But unsure about Weightman
TU – take Weightman’s score of 53
TD – Run with Waterman
608/6/VC Satan
Unfortunately my only loophole option is Brockman who is an emergency and plays after Grundy. So?
TU: Back Grundy
TD: Wait til final teams tonight, if Brockman doesn’t play loophole and take Satan’s score. If Brockman is a late in C Titch or Merrett.
To make cash for the byes, do I trade out Warner for Madden? Madden will then be onfield with Weighman. Otherwise don’t do the trade, and Warner stays at F5.
TU: Keep Warner & miss out on Madden & cash boost
TD: Trade out Warner, won’ t be making much more & ready to go, & bring in Madden
Another sub-par weekend coming up. Will be lucky to break 2000.
Guthrie a late out. Daniel, Grundy, Titch, Green, Daniher, Ridley and CJ all poor.
Laird, Dusty, Lloyd, Heeney and Warner to come.
Got greedy and didn’t take Bont’s score so missed out on 49 crucial points. Also fielded Poulter over my initial choice of Dev Robertson and I had Highmore on field instead of Jones.
Poor performances from Daniel, Impey, Taranto and Mcgrath were more than offset by brilliant scores from Zorko, Steele, Oliver, Josh Kelly and Hall.
Laird, Short, Dusty and new recruit Mills to come, hoping for 2300 and that overall ranking doesn’t drop too much!
How hard is it for all 22 of my players to play well??? I’m not asking for much! So happy with Steele, Zorko, Mccrae, Bont but then I get Ridley and highmore and now I’ve gotta hope ROWE goes big to post a decent score!! Lol
1569/15/Vic Gawn
Was tracking at projected 2350 ish
Until Impey/Kosi screwed the pooch on me.
Still projected 2247 with
Doc-cripps-martin-boak-Fyfe-laird-mills
To come
I think with Cripps (66) and Martin(80)
Projections there’s a fair chance they’ll score more than that,
So hoping for a reasonable Sunday ahead.
No one on field in the last game, so barring scaling that’s what I get. Projected 7/10, but a couple of them are really close so it could be anywhere from 5/10 or 9/10
Yeah, I lost to you by 15 and 37 to Nathan for 8/10. Not having Macrae is killing me.
Well, 20% killing me at least.
Good game, went down to the wire. At half time with Fyfe around 40 I thought I’d be a chance to steal that one off you, so well done coming home with the 4 points.
917/6/Macrae
Good start.

Great start GD. I think you are a premo behind because you missed a week of upgrades due to RoMo and Bowes.
Great way to start the round GD
Cheers, Luke.

Morning, Lisa.

Fielding 6 rookies this week; two on each line.
675/4 Macrae
T/up – take Gawns score
T/down – Stick C on Grundy
Other than Grundy, (who I think will do a Gawny ie less ruck challenge, but ops better mids,) what other options do you think you have?…..although now that I’ve just said that, no Duncan and a sus Guthrie Hmmm….nah still Geelong atm…
My other options are either Steele, Merrett, or Mitchell. However, Grundy has a good average against the Cats

Did not age well
…..yeah, so many options. If he’s scoring 120 against Geelong consistently, probably keep him.
Note this is a reply to the midnight message…..
390 / 3 / Bont VC.
Bont and Gawn solid.
Macrae awesome on debut, Weightman (E) not so much.
He can stay as emergency as I want to back in Warner and Poulter.
So do I stay safe and take Bonts 125 as Captain ?
T/U 250 is a solid Captains score.
T/D Roll the dice on Grundy he should go 140+
Thanks in advance 😉
VC on Oliver. Dow has now been substituted for RCD into my team as captain as I had a sneaky emerg. vest on Jordon. 628/3
Isn’t RCD playing?
Off topic but which should I do;
Tu; Bergman > Heeney
Td; Bergman > Madden (will have close to 300k for next week to upgrade)
Cheers!

Weekends over Grundy gawn…..
And now with Highmore on the field….

Good luck tomorrow everyone.
I’m barely going to scrape past 2000 and probably be my lowest scoring round this year. 8 scores between 48-76 yuckers!!!

Martin, Short, Laird, Butts, Lloyd, Heeney, Warner, Boak and Jones to go.
Could really go either way.
2321/22/Grundy
Pretty stoked considering I was greedy and didn’t take my VC and rolled the dice with grundy.
2265/22/ VC Oliver
No one on field in the last game, so barring scaling that’s what I get. Projected 7/10, but a couple of them are really close so it could be anywhere from 5/10 or 9/10
Looks like Fyfe just got me over the line in our H2H. Damn close.
