First time doing SuperCoach so I’m sure there’s heaps I could improve on. I’d really appreciate it if you make a suggestion, including why that’s a better option so I can learn 🙂

    I’m a pies supporter so I’m also playing around with (P.Cripps J.Horne-Francis) vs (P.Lipinski J.Berry)

    1. It’s evident that leaving the number 1 player (and most expensive player) of each of the main three lines has given you the ability to stretch your team out.. but if all three go about their business you’ll be behind very quickly and trying to find ways to bring them all in.

BUT that’s the best thing about this game. Anything can happen, overall I like it!

    2. Very strong in forwards, whereas but light down back- need another premium-especially with Coleman down.
Caldwell didn’t get much mid time so agree with other poster- bring in Berry.

  2. Hello! Nice to have another pies supporter here! Team looks good but keep eye on rookies coz hollands and skinner may not start round 1. Also I would swap Caldwell for berry (nearly same price) coz berry looks a much better choice. Also move some guys around and maybe sacrifice Martin and look to bring in Dunkley in FWD line coz he’s just a scoring magnet . Good luck this year .

    1. Like the team but not sold on the rookies, especially down back. Maybe Stephens for Mead, Gould for Sinn and use the leftover to correct come round 1. Also not a huge fan of Marshall. Darcy and Gawn have a much higher ceiling, much more consistent and likely wont be playing too much forward time. Other than that very solid team. Great premium selections with Crisp, Ridley, macrae, Oliver, Miller, Grundy Thomas Butters etc.

  4. I notice that a lot of teams have Jarrod Berry in them and looking at his scoring history he averaged 97 in 2020, but then only 49 last year. Can anyone explain why his scoring fell off a cliff last year and why he is worth selecting this year (Why are we expecting last year to be a blip in an otherwise solid scoring history).

    Thanks.

    1. He seems to have a strong Midfield role and has been performing well in the AAMI games and the intraclubs

      6

    2. He had a bad year in 2021 due to injuries and then couldn’t find form in the last stretch of matches for the year. Is fit and looking in good form this year and should easily achieve 85-90 points average based upon historical output which makes him a bargain

      1. Warne passing has thrown me for a loop.

I can’t believe it. Used to remember watching him bowl when I was a kid.

  5. Value for dollar, Berry is capable of 90 just hope it is this year. Maybe good for making $$ for an ungrade later in the season.

  6. This is looking like my final team now, minus must have adjustments from the AAMI games or rookies.

Defence – Crisp, Ridley, Whitfield, Sicily, Sinn, O Driscoll (De Koning, Mcdonagh)
Midfield – Macrae, Steele, Neale, Cripps, Berry, JHF, Daicos, Ward ( D. Stephens, MacDonald, Uwland)
Ruck – Darcy, Grundy ( Hayes)
Forward – Dunkley, Heeney, Butters, Coleman, Coniglio, Rachele ( Hollands, Parker)

    11.7k in the bank.

Obviously not feeling safe at all with Cripps, Sicily, and Heeney all in the same team. Outside of that feeling pretty happy though, so got to take some risks on them. All very high ceiling players.

    9

    2
    1. Heeney has a higher ceiling and has proven himself as well. Even if he is a bit of a risk, still pick him up over bailey

      6

      2
  7. Heeney 2021 stats:

    Av: 83.5
    DNP: 3 games
    Over 100 points : 5 games
    Ceiling: 135
    80 -96 points: 6 games
    19 – 79 points: 7 games (including 19, 42, 44, 52, 54, 55, 67)

10 games for below 80 sc points last year (a decent rookie could achieve that plus 3 DNP – 13 games, over half season wiped with minimal return and coverage issues. Always big wraps in the market movers from Sydney intensive pre season but they play a cumulative (balanced) game – not SC friendly.

I have stuck with Heeney previously but not this year.

    1. T Rex…

Heeney hardly trained in 2021 and only really played hurt and Forward.

Heeney now has had a full pre season, and has been training exclusively with the Midfield. Check out Gunboats 2022 Breakout forwards article . He takes a deep dive into Heeney and reveals some great stuff. He may even change your mind…

      I dream of Heeney !

  8. Backs: Lloyd, Ridley, Whitfield, de koning, Skinner, Dean, Gould, McDonough

Mids: McRae, Oliver, Mitchell, Neale, Berry, jhf, daicos, Hollands, Rachele, Driscoll, tsitaa

    Rucks: Gawn, Grundy, comden

Forwards: Dunkley, Taranto, Heeney, butters, cogs, Butler, Kelly, Parker

Feel like my team doesn’t have many PODs, which I was sucked into too many of last year.

Feels light on the premo mids, but not sure where to change it up.

    Any feedback would be great!

    1. Bit light down back- especially when the last 4 rookies named probably won’t get a game.
Mids & rucks strong, and forwards strong, but feel you’ll need to strengthen down back.
Will Kelly & Sinn- would help down back, and add a premium if you can

      3

      0
        1. Unfortunately Yu- think we’ve all got to throw the magnets in the air down back! So many rookies down back won’t get a game- so I’m thinking will need to strengthen… even players such as Sinn, O’Driscoll look unlikely, and with Coleman, etc, gone, options are limited.

  9. TU- Hewett
    TD- Whitfield

Just wondering if the extra $100k in the bank from Hewett will be handy- especially if they both average the same… thoughts?

    1

    12
    1. Whitfield has shown a much higher ceiling than Hewett.

If Whit can stay fit I’m expecting a much larger average than Hewett.
It’s just the durability concerns that has everyone worried.

      3

      0
    2. Definitely spend up. Hewett’s role won’t be supercoach friendly when Walsh is back, and by then you would only be sidewaying to someone like Whitfield anyway. Waste of a trade

      1

      2
    1. So devo, thought he was going to be gun. I’ve moved De Koning and O’driscoll to the back, then Coleman down to Butler, then used the cash to go up from Laird to Macrae.

I’m trying to remember your team, but it’s tough to sideways Coleman in defence. Basically go down to a rookie and upgrade a midpricer elsewhere

    2. GGG.

I didn’t really see enough from Bowey especially with Salem out.He has dropped way down my Watchlist.

Hinge ( Def $180.900 ) named on a wing for Adelaide. I’m unsure on JS with Seedsman, Dawson and Milera sidelined. He was named R1 last year before injury.
I will be watching him closely. If he plays R1 we may need to pay up and lock him in.

My other very left field Watchlist is H.Chapman (Def: $275.200 ) for Freo. He is a second year player that also had some injury issues last year. Super competitive and very skilful and athletic for a 193 cm. He has bulked up a bit and looks very at home in Freo’s back 6-7 He looked great in Freo’s last hit out ( even got forward for a goal. ) but so did almost everyone. He’s one I’m watching very closely this weekend. Priced at only 56, he could push 80+ with a stroke of luck and Freo’s pretty soft early draw.

The only other one I’ve watch listed is Kyron Hayden , He’s been in the system awhile but only managed a handful of games. He has scored a 107 in 2020. I’m hoping he gets a game. North Melbourne could be one of the hardest teams to judge this year. I have no idea what there best 22 looks like yet. Looks like its now or never to break into the side for Hayden.

There’s a few to keep an eye on anyway…

      1. FT

Thanks. I was looking at someone like Bowey or Chapman myself. I will probably end up going with someone like Hinge and then looking to upgrade around the rest of the team with the leftover cash. Another option is I might end up switching him forward and bringing in someone like Brodie into the team and switching Heeney to Treloar or Ridley to LLoyd

        1

        0
        1. Not yet sold on Brodie. I will need to see his role with Mundy back.

Treloar soft tissue history makes him quite a risky starting pick and although Heeney’s isn’t much better, he is cheaper and I’m already starting both Dunkley and Macrae. Treloar looked amazing, but I’m still with Heeney at this stage.

I don’t mind Ridley to Lloyd if you have the cash. I think his consistency will make him much harder to recruit than Ridley later in the year.

Best of luck whatever you decide..

  10. Agree Abs.

Even Hewitts best case is probably 10-15 points behind Whitfields.

Whitfield is also very highly owned, so this reduces the risk somewhat, if he gets injured you are not alone. He also is easier to turn into a short / Dale type if something happens early. This could be a problem with Hewitt, as there’s very few $400K options.

I would have Whifield all day.

    7

    0
    1. Agree with this, and the extra 5 trades this year reduces the risk even more.

Whitfield has frustrated me a lot over the years, but he easily has the highest ceiling of all defenders this year and is priced unders. Worth it, IMO

  11. Dale gone, went up to Stewart who I’ll be keeping an eye on this practise match. Injury concern but will challenge lloyd for best defender if fit.
Dusty down to Treloar for now, which freed up cash for Laird back up to Macrae (can’t believe I didn’t have him in).

I would start Treloar forward if you start him. It’s way better to have a mid rookie on field than say DeKoning. Maybe ..Motlop out ( Treloar forward ) and Stephens / Ward into mid line.

Constable injured already so go to JHF. I would also look at Dixon or J Hayes ( over Parker). with the R/F DPP to match up with Comben. This will give you the ability to move English Forward at some stage.

You also have some serious depth problems in your defence. D4-8 are all unlikely to play ( Dean and Uwland already ruled out. ) You really need to find some $$ to fix this.Havew a play around and see what you can come up with..

      I hope that helps somewhat..

      Happy planning .

    1. Its very hard for me to say this but I would prefer Cripps over Crouch.

Crouch hardly trained this Pre season and will be managed, The Crows are rebuilding and destined for bottom 6.
Cripps full preseason and a team seemingly on the rise. he is much more likely to recapture form than Crouch.

      1. I’d avoid Brodie for the reasons FT has mentioned.

And Finn I doubt gets an extended run at this point.

Mitch has a decent SC role playing down back, intercepts and kick ins.
Dixon I do agree, wouldn’t want him starting

  15. 2 questions,
1- will Hayes and Dixon get game time (both 1o2k r/f) and will they make money.
2- If Brodie scores 80 every week, what’ll he be worth at the end of round 4 and 5.

  17. With the lack of good backline rookies and mid pricers and heaps of good midfield and forward rookies in ward, JHF, Daicos, Stephens, Rachele

Am I crazy in thinking about a 5/3/2/2 premo structure with Macrae, Steele, Neale in the middle and Dunkley and Butters up forward?

    1. Finn

Yeah could work but who are your starting 5 defenders ?
Are they all likely to finish top 6-8 ? You only leave room for one upgrade..

Its probably safer to go a tad more balanced with 4/3/2/3 Cogs at F4.

Looks like we will get Gibcus (or maybe Hinge.) and Sinn at D5-6.

Its good to have few options anyway.

      3

    2. Nope. I’m thinking 4 and Hewett may well be the way to go.

Unless Paddy McCartin puts in a good one today. In that case I’d say 3 and Hewett McCartin Gibcus

    3. Really difficult to balance down back… Sinn and O’Driscoll probably squeezed out round 1… so I’m thinking Hewitt D5 might be the option, then swap him to mid premium in a month or so when we get some idea on Defence.
Concerns on Hinge- looked good- but had shoulder finished his last season and yesterday already a concern.

What’s people’s thoughts on Hawks Mitchell with a groin issue? I had him as M3 and was hoping his form after buys last year continued but ‘groin’ issues can really limit output.

  18. Cant decide whether to have macrae or steele M1 feel like Steele has the bigger ceiling but is overpriced but macrae has the consistency and wont get him much cheaper than current price at any stage. Unfortunately cant fit both at the moment. Leaning to Macrae

Defensive rookie crop as it stands isn’t looking all that well unless you pay up.

  22. Not exactly 100% happy with this team, but it’s the one I’m most comfortable with. Coleman and Dean getting injured has really put a lot of people in a pickle.

DEF: Lloyd, Crisp, Short, Bowey, Gibcus, Sinn (McDonagh, Uwland)

I’m a little stumped on what I should do for D4. Do I upgrade, keep Bowey there or downgrade him to someone like McCartin? I don’t mind the look of Bowey, but I don’t how much money he’ll make in the long run. I know a few of you will probably suggest downgrading a forward premo, but I’m even less comfortable with even doing that XD

  23. hey coaches im relative new to this and just wanted some feedback
im sure i can improve so dont hold back

    def – Lloyd – Sicily – Whitfield – Hewitt – sinn – odriscoll ( De Kon & Gould)
    Mid – Merrett – Brayshaw – Dunkley – Neale – Cerra – Serong – Rowell – JBerry ( daicos – Uwland – Horne Francis)

    1. Gidday Daniel!

Backline looks pretty solid tbh. Other positions though will need some working on, which I can try helping you with the best I can 🙂

      My suggestions:

      – Get rid of Cerra and Serong at least (maybe Rowell too), bring in a couple of players out of Ward, Stephens, Ralphsmith, Maginness, etc. And upgrade one of them to a Macrae, Steele or Oliver. You’ll make a lot more money out those guys throughout the season, and it also frees up a lot of money to splash in other positions. But if you’re set on wanting someone at that same $400-450k price, I’d definitely trust someone like Patrick Cripps more than Cerra and Serong. Particularly Cerra, who will be affected heavily when Walsh comes back into the side.

      – Get rid of Taranto and put Dunkley in as your top forward, he has a much higher ceiling in terms of scoring. In Dunkley’s place, put in another $600k+ premo in the midfield. If you don’t want to move Dunkley, I might even suggest bringing in Treloar for Taranto. A tad cheaper, but again has a higher ceiling for scoring. Just hope he stays fit for your sake if you do pick him

      – Ruck wise, I think you should have two $600k+ rucks. But if you can put in at least one of them, it would be good to have your other ruck be someone like Marshall or Reilly O’Brien.

      – I’d downgrade Cockatoo to Comben in your forward line, who looks to be making a Rd.1 appearance. Again, he should make you more money in the long run.

Hopefully this all helps, and good luck!

      3

    2. Having Daicos and JHF on the bench is probably too much midfield depth. They will play and score pretty well no point having that money on the bench.

You should turn two mids into bench rookies and go back to the Super premium rucks.

Aside from that pretty good team. More risky then average but pretty good

      1

      0
      1. Hi Daniel so I did some more thinking about your team.

The main weakness with your midfield is too many mid priced players. At the end of the season you ideally want 8 of the top 10 mids all worth over 600k

Given you’ve said you want to go deep in the midfield (because that’s where the points are ) you would be better off starting off with 4x600k midfielders + Neale + Rowell(you can sideswap down to berry if he’s performing better and bank the cash for upgrades/rookie corrections) + JHF + Daicos and then 3 123k or less rookies.

That will give you close to 900 points in your midfield and it should be there all season. (A full keeper midfield is about 1000 points so you’re only 100 points off that at the start which is also good.

Add 2 premium rucks and that’s two lines virtually fully set.

Now from here you are going to have to scrimp and save. Any DPP player should go in either D or F.

Since you had Dunkley start him at F1 have Cogs in there somewhere and go as cheap as you can. You will need the money for your defence. Given the strength of your midfield (and the money you will have to spend on defence due to lack of rookies) you can be okay aiming for a FWD line that will get around 400-450 points

Dunkley will get you 100+ so you just need some good 200k players (or less) who will give you over 60ppg. Cogs, Ralphsmith, Brodie. Rachelle should also be on the field.

You will hopefully have enough for 3 real defensive premos. Go with the value, take Whitfield and 2 others who are below 550 aka Ridley/short or cheaper tier.

That should then give you enough cash for 3 players in the 200-300k range for if rookies don’t show up. If they do bank the cash or upgrade to a Lloyd/crisp type

        An example team.

Def ridley, short, Whitfield, Krueger, gibcus, mcCartin, sinn, Gould

Mid: McRae Steele took, Oliver, Neale, Rowell, JHF, Daicos, odriscol, Hollands, Sam butler (117k rookie)

        Ruck: Gawndy + Hayes (102k R/F)

FWD Dunks, Cogs, Brodie, Ralphsmith, rachelle McGuinness Kelly Martin.

        Cash left 36k

Hope that structure helps you a bit.

        4

      2. Dunkley to forwards via Hollands DPP, and then Hollands to mid bench for JHF or Daicos solves half that problem. But that doesn’t fix the Rachele on the bench as well issue.

Draper worries me a bit, the way they played him with Phillips neither is going to be supercoach relevant.

If you lose one of the midfielders, you’d easily be able to upgrade a ruck, and you can use the remaining cash to fix what’s starting to look like a perilously thin defence based on how players were named.

Kelly and O’Driscoll as emergencies only doesn’t bode well, and we havent heard anything of Gould at all.

    3. 2 things I’ve learnt over the years…

      1) Captains are essential for scoring BIG!
      2) Set & Forget Rucks means lot less trades.

Good start Daniel – reckon you need 2 premium mids to give solid Captain scores- remember you double their score- so you might be doubling a Merrett at 115, whereas I’m doubling a Macrae at 135.
      Pay up for the Captain.

I looked at doing rucks like you last year and lost trades and scores… at least have one premium ruck, if not 2.

      Good luck!

    1. Seems to be Ridley vs short.

Could ditch Cripps for one of the 360k or less midpricers

      One of Gawndy to Marshall.

If I were you I’d look to move hewett down to a mid pricer. You already have 12 keepers that’s heaps with the extra trades.

Find a Def mid pricer who’s going to actually make you 150k and spend that extra 100k on more expensive rookies/breakouts

    1. Similar in structure to mine. 5 serious defenders is an understandable tactic, and affordable with the 2 sub premium rucks who both looked more than ok.

If there’s any injury doubts over Grundy or Darcy this week I’m seriously considering downgrading one for a complete rejig.

At present I’d put Rachele on the field over Maginness.

I do see with that many players in that low/risky premium range it’s going to be a lot of trades to get a full “best 22”. You’ve maybe got 10 or 11 guys in that category (if English eventually goes forward and keeps developing). But it could easily be as low as 7 or 8.

Then I look at my team and I realise most of us are stuck with the same problem. About 11 guns, a couple of might be guns, and a chunk of well, at least they should make money and you might get lucky.

Lets hope for some luck in 2022.

  26. Here’s where I’m at after another day of carnage

D: Lloyd, Short, Whitfield, Hewett, Gibcus, McCartin (De Koning, O’Driscoll)
M: Steele, Mitchell, Neale, Cripps, Rowell, Berry, Daicos, Ward (Stephens, Maginess, Long)
    R: Darcy, Grundy (Dixon)
F: Treloar, Heeney, Butters, Coniglio, Ralphsmith, Rachele (Comben, Hollands)

    24.4k left.

    The why?

Basically injuries and questionable security of the 123k rookies at this stage.

Most of the high priced rookies are punching out good numbers , and have floated in and out of my team all season. Most of the potential 123k or lower rookies coming off bench or not playing at all.

Cash generation requires game time, after all.

Sinn looked no certainty starting off the bench, had 1 quarter out of 3 good. Coleman injured.

Mayes looks like an R1 only and I telegraphed days ago I was waiting for Dixon to be named anyway. De Koning over Kelly is basically a Rnd 1 teams call anyway.

Thomas to Treloar basically because the cash was there and Treloar if fit has proven history at this level.

Crisp hasn’t really done anything wrong yet but Short has been on fire in multiple games and the cash was needed elsewhere to upgrade rookies.

JHF to Ward because Ward looks more likely to have a SC friendly role. If Stephens fails and JHF has a blinder things get a bit messy.

There is cash enough to upgrade a 102k rookie or maybe Maginness to Erasmus. I might also look at Nick Martin in place of Maginness via Hollands dpp for extra cash for a rookie upgrade, either bringing back in Sinn or maybe JHF.

This looks like another one of those seasons of mad scramble before the R1 Saturday games start.

    1. Looks pretty solid HH, but I think going around Macrae and Dunkley this year will be costly – they are both in great form. Is Steele still a lock after dawdling around a couple of trials?

      1

      1
      1. Steele has underwhelmed.

I mean I could go Miller, but I’m hanging on to Titch as Sunday captain, so I really need an early captain option.

Macrae would be the obvious replacement.

        3
        1. Guys what do you mean ???

You don’t jump off Steele after a trial game. That’s crazy talk…

Unless he’s copped injury ,I would take his form with a grain of salt. Steele’s A game is tackling , not a huge feature of Preseason games.
Coaches also play around with midfield rotations to give a few kids a go. Steele will be there when the whips are cracking R1. Pass at your peril…

          5

          0
          1. Agree on the soft contact of preseason games (although they obviously don’t tell Maynard).

But is it really jumping off when it means you’re getting a more expensive midfielder with a more reliable scoring history in Macrae instead?

If the rookie situation means that I can’t cover the extra for Macrae I’d happily come back to Steele. It’s not like I’ve gone off him. This is the first time all preseason he’s been out of my team.

It’s just deciding between which starting pairing of Steele and Titch plus rookie versus Macrae and Miller with a cheaper rookie, to maximise cash utilization.

All 4 definitely should be top 8 midfielders. You should plan to get all of them in by the end of the season.

The only question is the order in which you get them. I have gone through the entire preseason with a plan of ensuring I have one of Titch or Miller to give me a Sunday captain.

Titch not playing this week is probably smart play from Hawthorn, but it does create lingering doubts for us as to fitness and form.

If I can’t just swap Titch for Miller with my remaining cash then it has to include at least a rookie downgrade. But any rookie I can downgrade to another potential playing rookie frees up enough cash for the Macrae upgrade of Steele, and a 3 way swap for 2 more expensive midfielders.

            1. HH

I would drop Cripps and Hewitt and turn Titch into Macrae Get a proper Defender at D4 and another Mid rookie. Macdonald maybe.
              Stephens on field.

If you’re happy with Hewitt at D4 .Get Dunkley instead of Treloar. Trust me you’ll sleep better.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

              1. Also why structure your team around a Sunday Captain ? I don’t think it’s really needed. Just pick the all the Rookies and the best 12- 13 Durable Premo’s ( likely to finish top on their lines) . Then fill in the gaps with a mid pricer or two and you should be fine.

I think we overthink it sometimes.

                1. I work long and odd hours, nearly every friday night, saturday and sunday.

Access to phone is in some pretty narrow designated breaks that have nothing to do with football.

Most weeks I don’t get the choice of waiting until a match is over to look at scores and decide if I’m changing my captain.

Having captains likely to play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday gives me options. Having captains where one starting a match 20 minutes after the other match finishes does not.

    1. Hey, Ric.

Probably a little short on keepers and a few too many selection issues.

Lloyd, Stewart and Short are all sensational picks, no problems there. McInerney did indeed look fantastic today and will be a premo some day, but at 411k are you backing him to increase his average by 15 points on last year’s 75 and end up a D6 keeper averaging 90? If so, then that’s fine. Just seems like a pick based on pre-season game against North.

None of Kelly, Uwland or Skinner will play. Replace them with Hinge, McCartin, Boyd and De Koning (all should play). You’ve already got Gibcus, tick.

To the MIDs, Zerrett’s use and CP rate mean he’ll be a solid 115 player for the rest of his career. Nothing wrong with that, makes him a great upgrade target. But when starting premos look for those who can do 120+. Spend 30-50k more and you’ve got a guaranteed Top 8. Could even straight swap to Parish looks set for another capital season. Point being: Zerrett not worth starting. Similarly, Wines not a Top 8 MID. Did 112.5 his Brownlow year. Would take a major leap for him to put 8 points onto his average. Plays a contested, crash and bash style and butchers it. Look elsewhere.

Brayshaw and Neale are great. The Cripps pick is another one that personally baffles me due to his body, poor decision making and few other deficiencies but if you think he can do 105~, then that’s a good investment. Anything less and he’s got to go. On MID rookies, you NEED N. Daicos and Ward. MacDonald and Stephens also look like they’ll get Round 1 gigs. McComb and Hollands won’t play. Also, swing Rachele FWD.

Preuss looked good today but should definitely not be at R2. Such a risk. If something happens to him, you’re f*cked. Preuss R3 is the play if you liked what you saw today and think him and Flynn together is sustainable.

Finally to the FWDs. Would probably merge two of the midpricers into a Heeney/Butters/De Goey/Thomas. Gresham playing mostly forward, so he could go first. Personally not a fan of the Dusty and Rayner picks, but that’s up to you. Not sure which McDonald you’re referring to but can’t see how any of them would be relevant?

Also, 200k is far too much to have ITB.

      To recap:
      – DEF: Decide whether you think McInerney is a keeper and it’s critical you pay up for the rookies
      – MID: Invest in Top 8 120 averaging premos, pay up for Daicos and Ward and base the Cripps pick on whether he can do 105
      – RUC: Get a premo R2, Preuss R3
      – FWD: Probably another premo

      Best of luck.

  43. What do people think about Heeney after the practise match? Got a big score, kicked a bag and looked really dominant but my problem is that he played almost no midfield time. I understand this might change when buddy and papley come back but does anyone else have any opinions?

    1

    0
    1. Yeah. It’s tricky, Finn.

He had 6 CBAs behind Rowbottom, Parker, Florent and Mills – ideally we’d have liked him in double digits like he was last week.

Can score well anywhere when fit, but those starting him (myself included) really want the upside and consistency that’d come with an OB role.

Think they just needed a strong marking presence up FWD yesterday. Papley and Franklin back (even one of them) allows him to reclaim that MID role.

Been training with the midfield the entire preseason, surely they don’t throw that away?

      1

      0
      1. Yeh good point you make there just depends on a lot of things like papley and franklin being fit and of course Longmire will keep us guessing but he has a ton of upside providing he can stay fit

  44. Tristan Xerri looked to have play as main ruck over Goldy yesterday and did pretty well with a solid 96.

Is he looking like he’ll take the No.1 ruck for the Roos this year, or will he play more down forward while Goldy stays up the middle? Also, does this mean that Comben’s JS for an early debut is in jeopardy?
