Hey GD, yes great to be back for another season. Can’t wait for kick off Thursday night.
Yeah I’m a bit worried I’m too light in the forward line but something has to give way.
Thanks for all the hard work u guys put in. I Dont know where u find the time for it all. Massive effort.
Now where I go for groceries there is both a Coles and a Woolworths right across from each other. This means that every time I go shopping I can always hit up the specials. I love my value for money, and that’s what this team is all about.
In my opinion every player in this team is going to go score above their price (Except Laird who is fair value but someone needs to steer the ship) while having only 4 rookies on the field
Do I hade too many mid pricers? Am I too light on in the backline? Will some of these come back to bite me because I’ll have to make a lot of trades to get full premo?
No because every season I always use all my trades up by about round 7 anyway.
(If you came up against my team in a real game good luck getting a clearance)
I just dropped Laird & Flanders for Sicily & Bruhn. Mainly to get Phillips onfield and wilmot off!! Smart move or not? Not having Laird gives me real anxiety but points onfield is optimised. Let me know what you all think
Just waiting on teams now, any feedback welcomed. Henry is my main gamble but I have faith in him, if it looks no good its a simple swap to Sheezel before round 3.
Not seeing many teams with Neale, with the news coming out of Melbourne about rotating more player through the middle is anyone concerned about starting Oliver? With this in mind who would you take out of the two?
Tossing up this or swapping Gawn for Grundy and Libba for Satan. Thoughts?? I think Gawn will remind us he’s still the best ruck in the comp and slap on goals to go with it. And libba more trustworthy with CBA’s after the Satan Half back rotation talk?
Can someone tell me why Jack Steele is being overlooked and not spoken about much?Underpriced at 604k, was injured last season. Has shown multiple times can go 120+
Role was fine in scratch match and practice game, laying plenty of tackles and moving freely. If he had scored another 10-15 points in the practice match against Essendon I feel like he would be in a lot more sides, although I try not to look too much into premium scoring in pre season if that makes sense.
Think I’m almost there. Have a few combos I’m considering at D2/F6. Appreciate any feedback.
* Cumming/Worpel ($23k in bank)
* Dale/Callaghan ($49k in bank)
* Ridley/Setterfield ($1.5k in bank)
I’ll preface this by stating Ben is one of my favourite and most courageous players over the past 10 years.
However, the fact is in his 11 fullish seasons he’s only averaged 100 twice. Turning 32 this year I fear that as FD would say, “the beer truck is fast approaching.”
The other downside for him from an SC perspective is that Clarko’s clear narrative is to be using his initial period at the ‘Roos to get playing time into the kids (check today’s article.)
I also think that represents a risk in picking Ziebell.
I am pretty happy with my team, however I still have $218,000 in the bank and feel there is too much money left in the bank for me not to use.
Happy with my premos (11 counted) and pretty confident the rookies have JS, will make money and are setup to maximize structure and DDP flexibility. Where I am stuck is with Hopper. Understand he is great value but I feel he is one dimensional for his scoring output and since I have money to use, why not go up to a premo. Team is below. Do I make some changes to maximise starting money? Or stand pat with the money I have as I may be in an advantageous position to make earlier moves than others who need to rely on cash gen? Any advice is helpful. Cheers!
I presume you are counting Green as one of your 11 premiums? If so, this is a big stretch. He’d have to improve his average from last year by 25ppg to become a premium/keeper.
Whilst his CP style is very SC friendly, he will have to improve his DE% drastically to become a 115ppg player.
I suggest you consider using your cash to upgrade him to a known premium/keeper.
Yep counting him as a premo (keeper till end of the season) however it is a stretch I agree and if I have money/trades to use before or at finals, might upgrade green to a bonafide. For now I will keep him but leaning towards upgrading hopper to a premo to give me that 11 known premium/keepers to protect myself if Green doesn’t reach those heights.
I would say fair amount of people who have Green are counting on him to be a keeper/premo or else don’t see the point of having him (can’t justify him being a stepping stone at that price). For me his a SC friendly undervalued breakout contender.

Nice side. The Setterfield plus Hopper selection feels like it is putting pressure on other areas of your team.
Comparing your team to others on this site, you are running 2 defenders and 2 mids you are expecting to step up to top shelf. By taking Setterfield down to Baker, you could put 100k on Titch to a Brayshaw/Steele/Macrae/Zerrett type, plus you could bring Cumming or Ridley up to a Doc/Sicily/Dawson/Stewart.
I know this means you will end up looking like many of the other teams on here. Then you have to decide whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
Thanks mate, definitely something to think about.
Just had a play and theoretically then I’d do:

Look at his average before his indiscretion last year. When he came back he was pretty average but then again, it’s very hard to play elite footy with a dry nose. No Dunkley also means he should get more CBAs.

Both good combos. Purely a matter of how you want to play the game.
Steele and Sheezel safe, Jelly and Flanders more speculative but clear upside.
