  1. Apologies for the delay on the AAMI Series CBA’s, kick ins and reports, everyone.

Taking longer than expected to write up, trying to be as comprehensive as possible and had some real life stuff come up.

Will be up first thing tomorrow [Saturday].

As you can see, I can’t decide on which Fwd mid pricer is going to be Ziebell this year.. potential to downgrade early and upgrade ruck if necessary

    1. Great team, Fos.

Glad to see the Ryan pick starting to build, I’ve been hot on him for a while.

Yeah, Cogs can be played as an F3 no problems.

Marshall and Witts as rucks can work (Witts looked great the other day) but you need to have supreme confidence in both. If something happens to either (post-plantar fasciitis and ACL players), then you’re f*cked.

Otherwise, I like it. Great to see a team holding fat with 5x MID premos.

      Good luck.

      1. Thanks GD! Appreciate the feedback. Was you who swayed me on the Ryan pick, Crisp has been sitting in that position all preseason for me.

100% agree with you on the ruck sitch – I’m usually a G & G purist, but I don’t have a great feeling about either of them. Can’t be convinced on Darcy so may as well take a flier and spend on my defence.

  5. Good evening community been a while since I’ve posted my team but here is what I feel is locked in til carnage hits when the teams all drop.. it’s pretty cookie cutter but I feel the balance is right.

DEF: Lloyd short Whitfield Hewett gibcus McCartin (O’Driscoll Skinner)

MID: Macrae Steele Miller Neale Rowell JHF Daicos Ward (DStephens DStephens Soligo)

    RUCK: Gawn Darcy (Hayes)

FWD: Dunkley Butters Cogs Brodie Rachele Durdin (de koning Dixon)

    Bank: 15k.

My defence I feel is reasonably locked. Not sold on Hewett but rookies are forcing my hand here and with the extra 5 trades I think it’s worth starting him he should be good for 95 a cash rise and trade up eventually.

I’ve ran teams with English at R2 to free up 160k with the intention of swinging him forward when Grundy or Darcy drop in price. But gee it’s a gamble. If English is named solo ruck I may just do this! The 160k would be used to go Cooper Stephens to berry and ward to the bench. Feel free to comment on your opinion on this move….

I also have the big 3 of Macrae Steele and Miller I can’t bring myself to drop one but I want Brayshaw so god damn bad ha ha there fixture is so juicy and this is Andy’s breakout year I believe him to go 115 and that makes him value at his current price. If I need an extra 90-100k for a glaring hole I will pull the trigger on this. I owned Brayshaw last year so I have FOMO of missing his uber breakout.

not alot to say about my forwards I think it’s similar too everyone you see these days. Brodie looked solid pre season, is he a trap? Possibly… Could turn into xerri is he’s named starting ruck.

    Would love some feedback ☺️
    Thanks in advance team.

    1. Nice team, very similar to mine. I am also facing the quandary of how to fit Rowell into my team.

Without knowing how much you have left in the bank, you could possibly look to bring in Sicily for one of Short/Whitfield and/or switch Gawn for Darcy.

      Good luck.

  9. G’day SC’s,

Does anyone have any intel on Jed McEntee from Port Adelaide? He scored 58 points in the AAMI CS match against Adelaide but I am not seeing him in many teams. Whereas Holland (same price and also mid/fwd) is featuring a lot and he didn’t get a gurnsey in the practice matches and is apparently doubtful for round 1.

    Cheers

  11. Hey all, one of many drafts that I have made so far but first time posting it on this thread. Will most likely change drastically when lineups are announced knowing me.

DEF: Lloyd, Short, Ridley, Whitfield, Hewett, McCartin (Gibcus, De Koning)

MID: Macrae, Steele, Neale, Rowell, Berry, JHF, Daicos, Ward (D.Stephens, Macdonald, Tsitsas)

    RUCK: Darcy, Grundy (Hayes)

FWD: Dunkley, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Xerri, Rachele (Martin, Dixon)

    Bank: 20k.

    – Couple things I’m stuck on currently are firstly selecting the right mid priced forwards as there seems to be 5 or so decent choices that could possibly make us money. Xerri and Brodie both scare me but I feel if things go sideways I could correct them to the likes of Ralphsmith, Curnow, McGovern etc.

    – Another thing bugging me is only having 2 out of the 4 uber mid premos as I can’t see a way to get in 3 without taking out Rowell or going shorter in the backline.

Any feedback on things I can improve is appreciated!

    1. Hey Jordy,

I am running a similar mid structure as I think the defence needs to galvanised (4 premium or to be premium IMO). The points will be made up here for not having a fully loaded midfield. Also allows more cash generation from the rookies (and Berry) which is where most of the potential talent sits (in the midfield).

My team is far from perfect but I’m comfortable with my structure and cash generation strategy.

Lower priced rookies are bound to change come team announcements for round 1. Absorb advice but trust yourself.

My team as it stands ATM:

DEF: Lloyd, Crisp, Short, Whitfield, McCartin, Sinn (Boyd, Voss* def/fwd loop)

MID: Macrae, Oliver, Neale, Rowell, Berry, JFH, Daicos, Ward, (D. Stephen’s, McEntree, McDonald)

    1. Got the big 4 mids & 2 set rucks- that costs big money. Agree need to beef up down back, even just by trading Stephens down to a cheap 102 k rookie- who you can use to loophole- make them a mid/fwd, then you’ll get an extra 50k to help down back. Need at least one premium back there- especially as they’ve all been injury prone in the past.
Then again they all might play the first 10, and you’re number one in the country.

      1. Hi Kota

Research I did was interesting. I into a sheet teams from Gumboot Alta Chaos Danes Abs Fantasy Freako SC Mum to mention a few. Interesting

Only 1 picked Parish Obrien Heaney Treloar Thomas McGovern
Maginess Witts Mitchell Wines A Bradshaw Preuss

only 2 picked Ryan Ridley Crisp Rowell Martin Xerri
        Ralpsmith Brodie

        Only 3 picked Short Hinge.

Only 4 picked Lloyd Hewitt Sinn O’Driscoll Miller Oliver Gawn

THese figures surprised me, especially looking at the 7 above were in my figures.
I’m not too sure of the relevance but certainly made me think with my selections.

  16. Hey again, this is a second side I’m also considering that is similar to the one I showed earlier but with a slightly different structure. Interested to see which is gets better feedback.

DEF: Lloyd, Short, Ridley, Whitfield, Hinge, McCartin (Gibcus, De Koning)

MID: Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Neale, Rowell, Berry, JHF, Daicos (Ward, Macdonald, Tsitsas)

    RUCK: Grundy, Witts (Hayes)

FWD: Dunkley, Butters, Coniglio, Xerri, Ralphsmith, Rachele (Martin, Dixon)

    13.8k cash in the bank

    Bank: 13.8k.

    – Obvious question mark with the squad is the Witts pick and whether he is a solid enough pick to shy away from the set and forget ruck structure. With this team I would have to hope Witts averages at least 90 to reach around 500k and then bring in whoever looks the best out of Gawn and Darcy.

    – Using Witts as R2 and downgraded Hewett to Hinge its freed up the cash to go from D. Stephens to Oliver leaving me with a pretty deep and solid midfield but now fielding two defensive rookies.

Thanks all for any feedback as I’m interested which of the two teams is preferred.

Settled on this as my team pending rookie selections. Only guy I’m uncertain will be named is Sinn, but I’m optimistic we see him play round 1. Cooper Stephens is the other, but I liked what I saw in the AAMI game, and as a cats fan I’m bullish on his chances of getting named right out the gate. Like everyone, it ultimately comes down to team sheets next week.

Main guy I think I’m missing but just can’t fit in is Berry. Came down to deciding between he and Rowell, but the slight chance that Matty boy averages enough to be an M8 for the season, and therefore a keeper, is too hard to ignore.

Neale and Whitfield are the other two. Neale I don’t totally trust, and am happy to pay the extra 100k to see it first. Also hard to pass on taking 3 of the 4 big dogs, as I think all of Macrae, Steele, Miller and Oliver will be a tier above.

Whitfield has become my anti-pod, and just happens to be the guy I’m going to have to bet against. He’s burnt me in the past multiple times, so it would be only right that he punishes me for ignoring him this year. Hewitt is the other guy down back I’m happy to bet against, seems very trappish to me and I’m far less concerned bypassing him.

The guys I feel make or break the team at this stage are Sicily and Heeney. Both guys I’ve owned in the past, and I just have a gut feeling both are in for big years. Feels to me like the pair are great chances to average 100+.

Happy to hear thoughts and opinions, cheers.

  18. TU: Ridley & English R2
    TD: Hewett & Darcy

English will eventually swing forward and grab a cheaper Grundy gawn or Darcy.
Will Ridley outscore Hewett by enough.

    9

    8
    1. Dunno that Ridley will outscore Hewett at all. It’s pretty lineball. Ridley without the kick ins will rely on a lot of intercepts.

Hewett if left to play a midfield game will probably outscore Ridley. He’s potentially a 105 point player, and I think that’s around Ridley’s ceiling without getting the vast majority of cheap kick in points.

The risk is that Carlton will collapse after a couple of injuries and Voss will play defensively and use Hewett for lockdown.

Knowing what we’ve seen of Voss he’ll be loathe to do that, but he’s still a first year coach of the club. He’s got some leeway to change game plan, but after years of “rebuilding” without actually going anywhere much there won’t be the typical amount of rope given to a new coach of a non finals playing team.

A string of big losses will force a defensive mindset which will tank Hewett’s scores.

I feel like I have 4 defensive keepers, 105 avg is the target and all have achieved it before. I am not happy with Hinge/Gibcus and hope to find a cheaper option that wont be a slow burner. Probably McCartin swings back and upgrade one of those two to Xerri or Brodie.

I am happy with the mids at the moment. I feel like the M4-M8 are all good money makers and Rowell could be a top 15 mid and slot in at M7/8 by years end. Jye Caldwell is the one mid-pricer I have wanted all off-season but can’t see how he is a better option than any that I have selected and would result in Ward and Stephens being expensive bench rookies.

Rucks only work if Marshall gets 1/2 the season as sole ruck and gets made a Ruc/Fwd DPP player. I think his likely average is 105 which would be good in the forwards, but lags behind expectation of the Gawn/Grundy alternative by 15 points.

Forwards are more promise than durability – Butters/Heeney/De Goey rotate daily in that spot.

How should I spend the $130k?
    Marshall > Gawn/Grundy
    Durdin > Xerri/Brodie
Hollands > Caldwell (Ward & Stephens on bench)

Plenty of movement to be had here but this is where I’m at. Willing to take a risk on Crippa and Gresham. There’s a sense of rejuvenation at the Blues and who knows, Crippa may return to his ways. Integration of Hewett, development of Dow and those guys, may just release the pressure on him a touch. As for Gresham, I dunno…hope he gets MID exposure… has 40 and 5, scores 200 and sets up a -100 BE or something like that before upgrading him to a premo by round 4/5 🙂

Wanted to pick premos who are fit and ready, no injury clouds, no interrupted preseasons or coming back from long term injuries. So Avoided Sicily, Whitfield, Darcy, Heeney, Butters, Mills, Cripps, Duncan & Stewart. Also Avoided the old fellas as well like Danger, Dusty and Pendles.

If a Butters, Heeney, TT, Bailey is killing it in the start, I can easy go Taranto down if his forward time is real.

Think I’ve managed 12 good solid premo picks plus 2 undervalued potential premos with Coniglio & Rowell.

The other 8 including Berry, Brodie & Preuss I count as expensive rookies, plus the bench. I may have to swap Brodie for Rachelle to grab some cash.

English will play at R2 in week 1 to cover Preuss.

    1. Derek.

Just for your information , Butters , Heeney , Whitfield and even Cripps and Sicily have all been injury free since last year and have had uninterrupted Preseasons.

I’m still unsure on Cripps, although he looks the fittest he’s been in years. The other three are well under priced and a big chance to finish top 6 on their lines. Of course they still come with some risk but that’s always the case with discounted players. I wouldn’t be writing these guys of just yet.

It also seems a little hypercritical to start Pruess at R2 with a highly interrupted preseason, and the worst injury history of any other player you mentioned. Then fade guys like Whitfield because they may get injured . Please explain ?

      7

      0
      1. I tend to agree with Derek on the non selection of the 3 you mentioned FREO but also think PRUESS ‘selection, given his history ,needs an explanation also I don’t like any DEREK?

        2
        1. Fair call DD

I’m not trying to sell Heeney etc. I’m just unsure as to why you would avoid these guys as injury risks then start Pruess at R2 ?

Surely if you are so worried about injury risk, you start Gawn and Grundy ?

          5

          0
          1. I know Derek and believe me Freo he knows his stuff Rank 76 says something a few years back and always well up the ranks . Derek will have an explanation well thought out . I personally agree GG is the go and Derek has had this setup

            4

            0
            1. Hey DD

Don’t get me wrong , I don’t have a problem with Derek’s team. More his explanation as to why he’s fading Whitfield etc..

Starting Pruess at R2 takes a leap of faith, I can’t personally take. Derek does have English as cover and his structure is very sound. The cheap R2 really helps get the good rookies and strengthens other lines. Something we are all looking for. I’m not yet sold this is the way to do it.

I guess worst case Pruess needs to swapped for a Xerri type, and English is R2 until he can find someone else. My problem with English is, can he hold down the number one ruck spot ? I know Martin is on his last legs . Maybe Sweet gets a chance ? English also has Melb first up and he most likely still has PTSD from getting beaten up in the grand final. Long term he may work but I can’t seeing him starting on fire.

I guess there’s many ways to put a team together and maybe mitigating risk on other lines like Derek has done, allows for a punt on Pruess. I’m still happy to lock in a couple of the top Rucks and work around that.

              1. Thanks for feedback FT

Last year was my worst year playing SC, and it was on the back on injuries to my keepers. You name them last year I had them, and in hindsight the Cripps, Neale, Adams, Heeney type picks were asking for trouble and I should have seen the injures coming.

The years were I have done well, it has been on the back of avoiding injuries. Picking Selwood, Pendles, JPK and leaving Fyfe, Sandilands, Rockcliff, Sloane types alone.

I thought if I start with no-injury risk premiums I can then take an injury risk or two on other players, such as Preuss.

I agree Cripps, Sicily, Whitfield and Butters are all looking great in preseason, but so have other injured players in the past and in hindsight we should have seen it coming. Agree, anyone can get injured, Max did straight after I got him a couple of years ago.

Those 4 I mentioned above could end up in my team. I’m considering all: Short to Whitfield; Daniel to Sicily; Oliver to Cripps; Taranto to Butters. I may do one for cash if the cheap rookies don’t appear (butters most likely). However I can easy use one trade down to any of them if they fly out of the gates and look a must have by round 3, easy to go down than up.

As for Preuss, I always start a risky R2, I don’t like locking in a whole line at the start. Look for a cash increase and a get my R2 cheaper. I had Flynn last year but I didn’t see the Mummy thing happening. I even started Lobbe one year and still finished in top 100.

The days of easy cash from rookies are over, bless the Suns, GWS and Essendon days. As a result, it is important to look at not losing money on players. Gawn or Darcy could easy drop $150k if they have a couple of bad games, money saved is money earned.

As for old guys, even without an injury past, it’s not that far away and getting closer.

Preuss injury has made me look at English, and I’m happy it did, F3 was causing me issues, had Rayner there for most of the preseason.

I’ve rambled too long, thanks for your feedback, love your comments and the help you give everyone.

              2. I am completely in agreeance .No doubt Derek will end up G G
always does after flirting with a non descript R2. English has improved but we only have limited data Pruesse has never been a great pick let alone a ruckman I set and forget rucks then work around that. Always you will find holes like defence Going to D 4 warm bodies is a must Forwards is full of cheaper warm bodies and mids has plenty of playing personal So it becomes obvious that defence is where the spend needs to be I tried going 3 deep and with the crap rookies available it doesn’t work All the best in supercoach my friend NDD

I might think of Macrae because I already have Dunkley, English and Daniel from Dogies, but Macrae looked very good last week.

              1. Hey Derek

Thanks for your detailed explanation. You have certainly given me bit to think about with both Whitfield and Ryan in my back 6.
The rookies are looking thin there so I may have to adjust and get in Short. I also tend to agree, although we make an argument for guys like Cripps and Heeney being under priced. They really need to be keepers and although they performed well preseason , we still don’t truely know what we are going to get. Even with the extra trades starting too many could end badly. Time for a serious risk assessment. As a side note I don’t own Cripps.

Thanks again for your wise words, Have a great weekend. Let’s hope it our last footy free weekend for few months.

                Cheers.

                1. Cheers FT. So easy to react to an AAMI game. Day after I woke up and found Cripps in my team lol

I have a feeling one or both of Butters and Whitfield might be in my team round 1 if I need cash to sure up my rookies.

Taranto might go straight to Whitfield (similar price) and Gibcus becomes Rachelle, start 5 deep in defence is an option.

Preseason is a fun time working through all the options

                  1. Yep . Fun indeed. My current team scheduled for Monday ( spoiler alert 😉 ) has Chapman at D4 Rowell at M5 and a 3 Premo forward line.

There seems to be a few potential ~$200k Forwards that may match Chappys output for up to $50K less. I may drop a Forward and move Chapman up to a Premo defender.

                    Could be the right move.

    1. Good team. I’d have JHF ahead of Ward, but I don’t think you have the cash to spare looking at your bench

      What cash left.

Don’t know if we will get many of the very cheap rookies for our bench. Rowell or Cripps might have to become JHF or Berry to have cash to beef up your bench. Best to have cash now than trying to find it next Thursday

    1. Nice team Nateo.

Cripps at M5 leaves the forwards a little thin. This could certainly work though. I am a little worried about fading JHF , I have mucked around with my team to fit both Berry and Rowell in but it just don’t feel right. Of all the first year rookies JHF is the only one to play in the SANFL against men last year. His body is ready and god do North need him. He should also get Forward status at Round 6.. I’m finding it really hard to pass on Horne Francis. That midfield does look killer though.

      Best of luck in 2022.

    1. Might need to help out that defence Artee. I’m pretty sure Hinge hurt his shoulder again and this might be trouble. The mid line is killer but your going to bleed points in defence with Chapman at D3.A mid may need to go (n downgrade to JHF ) to bolster said defence. If your set on keeping these mids , I would consider dropping Dusty or Heeney to Xerri ( or another $200k option you like ) and getting a reliable defender Short / Ridley or at least Hewett. In for Hinge.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

    1. Great team! I wish I could trust Chapman.. I have Crisp instead of him, and Witts instead of Gawn. I want gone, but hoping I get him as my first upgrade as a forward. I feel Chapman will be such a low burn, at least I know Crisp won’t Mia games and will be top 3/4 defenders, if not first

a very different draft from the last posted one, Bontempelli out to bring in a few of the 160-200k rookies, and Bailey.

    1. I from the thumbs up it looks like I could mistaken, but I thought we could only see other SC teams when league games started in Rd3.

Am I right or have I got that wrong?

      2

      1
      1. Dave, I think its R1. Some leagues actually start r1 so it would be difficult to have different rules for different leagues. I think in game day, you can select one of the other teams in your league and have a match up with them just for fun.

  43. Hi All, More changes. Torn between these two Teams:

TU: Def: Lloyd, Crisp, Short, Chapman, Gibcus, McCartin (DeKoning, Worner(loop) )
Mid: Macrae, Oliver, Neale, Cripps, Rowell, Berry, Daicos, Ward (D. Stephens, MacDonald, Hough)
    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Hayes)
Fwd: Dunkley, Heeney, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Rachele (N. Martin, Dixon)

    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Hayes)
Fwd: Dunkley, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Xerri, Rachele (N. Martin, Dixon)

Balance vs Keepers. Not sure which way to go. Wish I knew if Xerri was going to play long term.

    1. Hewett or Cripps. Rowell role is set, the Carlton boys is up in the air with Walsh coming back. Cripps has a high ceiling, but don’t think he’ll be consistent. You want both to be keepers and I don’t think either are close to top 6/8

  44. Dear brains trust,
I’m new to this and I’m still pushing this team around.
Nothing too adventurous here but general feedback/advice/issues I’m not seeing would be much appreciated.

    DEF: Lloyd Crisp Whitfield
    Lukosius Gibcus McCartin
    Bench: De Koning / Uwland

    MID: McCrae Steele Oliver Neale
    Rowell JHF Daicos Ward
    Bench: Soligo/Tsitas/Nankervis (loop)

    RUCK: Gawndy
Bench: Hayes (loop though he may not start as one?)

    FWD: Dunkley Butters Coniglio
    Rayner Rachele McGinness
    Bench W Kelly/ J Williams

Obviously, rookies are subject to change on the basis of R1 selections but I’ve absolutely no confidence selecting these kinds of players.

    Couple of Qs:
    1) Am I right in thinking the loop in MID and Ruck gives me greater flexibility?
    2) I have basically no $ remaining (risky, I know) but feel I may be missing some potential money making loops options… Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Hey, Gulp.

Just go for the one loop hole. The best one being Ned LONG from the Hawks at 102k with MID/FWD DPP.

On rookies, you’ve got a couple who won’t play so just be prepared to pay up for those named Round 1.

Also, don’t pick Lukosious. Set to play as a forward this season.

Otherwise, good stuff and best of luck.

Macrae Steele Miller Neale Rowell Berry JHF Daicos (D Stephens C Stephens Hough)

    Grundy Witts (Dixon)

Dunkley Butters Coniglio Brodie Xerri Rachelle
    (Martin Hayes)

Added a premo into that backline with the lack of cow like objects, that midfield has been set for a while. Would love Ward but he’ll be riding the pine, and along with Dylan Stephen’s that’s a lot of cash on the bench.

Hopefully Xerri can get ruck status, and Gawn will be one of the first upgrade targets if he gets that DPP status.

  57. I’ve Given the Preuss at R2 plenty of thought, and the Flynn disaster of last year is still painful to think about, so this is my GG team

Lloyd, Crisp, Ridley, Short, Daniel, DeKoning (O’Driscoll, Boyd)

Macrae, Steele, Neale, Rowell, Berry, JHF, Dacois, Ward (MacDonald, Long, Stephens)

    Grundy, Gawn (Hayes)

Dunkley, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Rachelle, McCartin (Dixon, Martin)

    $1k left.

I’m not locked on Ward (Newcombe ahead of him for midfield time) and prefer Sinn if named to save cash plus have a DPP.

Not 100% on Brodie, there are a few around that price (Curnow, Xerri, Ralphsmith, Raynor)

Butters is an injury risk, but also highly owned (42% and rising) but is value. Might still become Cripps.

Happy for now with my set and forget ruck team

    1. Great creative team Derek

Only 2 of the big four but you bat very deep down back. I think some of those cheaper forwards could be the way to go. Its just a minor thing but I would swing MaCartin back to D6 and then pop Martin on field forward. If he plays most likely plays wing or high HF should out score SDK quite easily.

That Ruck line should let you sleep better anyway.

      Best of luck in 2022.

      1. thanks FT.

5 Deep in defense seems ok, especially when all 5 feel like they will be there abouts the top 6

I deliberately had McCartin & DeKoning at different ends to have that swing-set, i just had it set up that way for round 1 where Boyd plays first. it will still move around a bit, especially if Sinn is named

thanks for your feedback, i guess we’ll see if i go team A or team B

looking forward to seeing your team tommorrow

      2. I’m just not liking the Butters pick.

        Not liking Cripps either.

of the 3 risky ones of Whitfield, Butters or Cripps I’m more comfortable with Whitfield at D5 than the other 2.

        Lloyd to Whitfield

        Butters to Rookie

        Berry to Oliver

        Team:

Crisp, Ridley, Short, Daniel, Whitfield, DeKoning (O’Driscoll, Boyd)

Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Neale, Rowell, JHF, Dacois, Ward (MacDonald, Long, Stephens)

        Grundy, Gawn (Hayes)

Dunkley, Coniglio, Brodie, Rachelle, Baldwin, McCartin (Dixon, Martin)

  58. Playing for league (Not overall)

Just really thinking about stacking the Midfield. Seeing Bont and Parish cruise to 100+ scores in the AAMI games in 3qtrs has me thinking that the game is really separating with overall vs league. If the elite mids start pushing 750k you just won’t be able to get them and new rotation rules have them spending more time on ground.

Yet if you’re playing for value/overall 2 mids + Neale is the way to go. With Berry, Rowell and 3 Rookies at M4-8

    Currently sitting with.

DEF: Short Whitfield McInnerny Chapman Gibcus McCartin: Wilmont Cox
Mids: Steele, Touk, Oliver, Bont, Parrish, Neale, Daicos, Ward: Stephens, Mcdonald, Hough
    Rucks: Darcy, Grundy, Hayes
Fwds: Dunkley, Cogs, Brodie, Rachelle, Baldwin, SDK, Martin, McEntee

The only important mid that’s missing is Mcrae but his price is already high and has been a stable scorer over the past few seasons. So it should be possible to get him around rd 6 with a trade boost.

    1. Hey Adam,

Not trying to bed rude or anything but i just counted 6 players you have in your starting line up who seem very doubtful for round 1. Plus numerous players on your bench. If i were you i’d wait till the teams come out this week and make sure every single person in your side including the bench is playing in round 1. good luck mate

  64. Word of warning: not hearing good things about the likelihood of some very popular rookie defenders lining up in Round 1. Keep some cash in the bank for last minute changes!

      1. Looking at the guys with >10% ownership:

        DeKoning: unlikely (unless Stewart misses)
        McCartin: 50/50
        O’Driscoll: nope
        Kelly: nope
        Sinn: unlikely
        Gibcus: tick
        Skinner: nope
Hinge: unlikely (possibly replaced by Milera?)
        Uwland, Gould, Dean: no chance

I can see guys like Chapman and Hewett suddenly becoming very popular on Thursday night

              1. Can play at either end. They would’ve played him forward last week when Durdin got hurt. Not best 22 at this stage though, either way.

                1. Started forward with Durdin.

It was the two of them with Owies.

Probably too small a forward line, you’re right. Defense of half backs as well.

                  JS dicey indeed.

      1. Hi Dan,

Personally I would look at getting at least one of Grundy/Darcy/Gawn into your team and if I had to choose one it would be to replace Draper. If you need the funds I would be looking to drop Taranto (Will be playing mostly forward until Greene returns). I also am not a fan of both Rayner and Cockatoo, options for those two include Brodie, Xerri, Ralphsmith.

Mid and defence seem good to me, just the ruck and forwards i would say are the reasons behind the downvotes.

At the end of the day it’s your choice who you go with, good luck.

  67. T/U – Cripps and McCartin
    T/D – Rowell and Chapman

Not really sure here. on the one hand, cripps could easily outperform Rowell and end up as a budget M8, and McCartin could end up with 175k+ cash gen, but on the other hand, they could hold just about even and Chapman and Rowell could end up being late trades

  68. Running two teams and I am so split between them! Would absolutely love some feedback here…

    TU:
DEF: crisp short Ridley Whitfield Sinn McCartin (O’Driscoll de koning)

MID: Macrae Miller Neale Rowell Berry JHF Daicos Ward (MacDonald DStephens )

    RUCK: Gawn Grundy (Hayes)

FWD: Dunkley Heeney Butters Cogs xerri Rachele (Martin Dixon)

    Bank: 72k.

    TD:
DEF: crisp short Whitfield Hewett sinn McCartin (O’Driscoll de koning)

MID: Macrae Steele Miller Neale Rowell JHF Daicos (ward macdonald Soligo)

    RUCK: Gawn English (Hayes)

FWD: Dunkley Butters Cogs xerri McGovern Rachele (Martin Dixon)

    Bank: 35k.

It’s basically Steele, English, McGovern and Hewett 35k VS ward, Grundy, Heeney and Ridley 72k

I hate losing an uber in the midfield but it really strengthens my side down forward, back and ruck….. English FYI would eventually swing forward he’s not my season R2

  69. My team is pretty much set at this point, I have two versions I am toying with, would love to hear any thoughts/advice on which to choose.

    1. I’ve put Xerri in my team from two reasons…
      1) Had a great pre season and North really stating he’s being given time to develop as number 1 ruckman over the preseason. With north having a young side why not develop a young ruckman at the same time- Goldstein won’t be there in a few years when list develops.
      2) In a year where DPP will really change the game- with both Xerri and Gawn becoming forwards, really great options going forward… if all goes to plan!

  72. Have two teams i like and can’t decide between which one to use. both have <2k left. Mostly playing for league. Think TU has a chance at overall if risks go right.

    TU. Midprice Madness
Def: Crisp, ridley, Short, Whitfield, Mcinnerny, Chapman: Mcartin, SDK
MID: Steele, Touk, Neale, Rowell, Berry, JHF, Daicos, Ward : Stephens, Mcdonald, Hough
    Rucks: Darcy, English: Hayes
FWDS: Dunkley, Butters, Cogs, Gov, Brodie, Rachelle, Baldwin, Dixon

Plan is to bring in Pruess/Xerri as a correction to swing around 3 playing rucks to cover for injury/Covid. Hopefully a non playing R3 to loop out English's odd Dud Score

    TD: Set and Forget Mids
Def: Short, Moore, Mcinnerny, Jones, Mccartin, Gibcus:
Mids: Steele, Touk, Oliver, Bont, Parrish, Neale, Daicos, Ward:
    Ruck: Gawn/Grundy
FWDS: Dunkley, Cogs, Brodie, Xerri, Rachelle, SDK

    12 Permos 8 captains, 1 injury risk .
