GWS GIANTS
GWS Giants 10.13.73 def. Port Melbourne 7.13.55
Braydon Pruess $204.7k RUC – 21 disposals (14 kicks), kicked 1.1, 4 marks, 3 tackles, 41 hitouts, 7 clearances, 6 inside 50s and had 4 frees for – 123 (123/1)

Cooper Hamilton $102.4k MID/FWD – 8 disposals (4 kicks) – 33 (33/1)
Verdict: Pruess dominated in the ruck and should come in soon. Not being available Rd 1 could be a blessing. If he scores really well in his first 2 games in the AFL this year we can bring him in on the bubble after getting a free look. Callaghan led the way in touches with Stein and Wehr racking them up and also taking plenty of marks down back as did Aleer.

Oliver Dempsey $102.4k FWD – 15 disposals (9 kicks), kicked 3.2 and took 5 marks – 80 (80/1)
Verdict: The Stephens, Stevens combo were great in this one leading the way for the rookie priced Cats. If it wasn’t Geelong they’d be in contention but it could be hard for them to string enough games together. Knevitt making his debut was very good in the middle as well.

Blows me away how comprehensive both your rookie pieces are each week, Alza. Tremendous work once again.
Hobbs set to maybe debut this week, Baldwin stiff to be dropped in the first place and should return at some stage, Giants will eventually unleash Callaghan and McComb might even get a gig.
Going off of what you said, they’re the 4 I’m watching rn.
As for Gould: I’m convinced he doesn’t exist.
Thanks GD, appreciate the kind words. Baldwin very stiff after only 1 game but should come back in the next couple of weeks and Hobbs hopefully does debut although if it wasn’t for another couple that would be ideal for SC. The Dogs losing definitely helps McComb’s case and Bevo gave opportunities to a few last year.
Gould will remain a mystery until he runs on the field I think, real enigma
Hopefully Gould will be back at Glenelg next year, or another club who’ll utilise his talents
Hey Alza,
