Welcome back for Round 19. 4 weeks of SuperCoach finals to get through now and good luck to all of those that made it in their respective leagues. Back to a smaller week as the SANFL and majority of the VFL was postponed due to COVID restrictions. Still plenty of players going about their business but with only 4 weeks to go it gets less and less likely for players to debut which isn’t a bad thing for SuperCoach.

BRISBANE
GWS 11.20.86 def. Brisbane 8.11.59
Jaxon Prior $222.8k DEF – 19 disposals (14 kicks), 7 marks, 4 tackles and had 4 inside 50s – 92 (97/2)
Connor Ballenden $146.1k FWD – 11 disposals (7 kicks), kicked 1.1 and took 6 marks – 54 (81/10)
Nakia Cockatoo $123.9k MID/FWD – 13 disposals (8 kicks), kicked 2.0 and took 3 marks – 64 (52/8)
Tom Joyce $123.9k FWD/MID – 24 disposals (13 kicks), kicked 1.0, 7 marks and had 5 inside 50s – 97 (85/7)
Connor McFadyen $123.9k FWD – 13 disposals (8 kicks) and took 3 marks – 42 (65/8)
Brock Smith $123.9k DEF – 27 disposals (19 kicks), 8 marks and had 10 rebound 50s – 97 (73/8)
Ely Smith $123.9k FWD/MID – 18 disposals (10 kicks) and took 6 marks – 66 (53/4)
Carter Michael $102.4k MID – 18 disposals (10 kicks), 4 marks and had 5 rebound 50s – 62 (77/10)
Verdict: Prior was again very good in this game and is on the fringes of a return. Ballenden was a bit quiet as he returns from injury, Cockatoo backed up being the sub in the AFL with a decent game kicking 2 goals and could finally make his Lions debut. Joyce and B. Smith were among the best having great all round games, with the Lions depth they may not play this year but ones to watch in 2022. E. Smith and Michael were solid with 18 touches each
ESSENDON
Southport 11.9.75 def. Essendon 10.11.71
Alec Waterman $231.1k FWD – 13 disposals (8 kicks), 4 marks, 6 tackles and had 5 inside 50s – 71 (73/4)
Ned Cahill $163.2k FWD – 13 disposals (7 kicks), kicked 0.2 and took 4 marks – 52 (72/9)
Tom Hird $123.9k MID – 15 disposals (12 kicks) and kicked 1.1 – 65 (63/10)
Nick Bryan $123.9k RUC – 11 disposals (7 kicks) and had 32 hitouts – 66 (83/9)
Verdict: Waterman was solid here with team high 6 tackles while Cahill was a bit down on his usual impact. Hird was his usual self with a goal and 15 touches and Bryan was good in the ruck with 32 hitouts but didn’t capitalise around the ground
GWS GIANTS
GWS 11.20.86 def. Brisbane 8.11.59
Zach Sproule $185.6k FWD – 26 disposals (18 kicks), kicked 2.4, 10 marks, 5 inside 50s and had 4 hitouts – 128 (81/10)
Nick Shipley $123.9k MID – 19 disposals (7 kicks) and had 5 inside 50s – 53 (79/10)
Jacob Wehr $117.3k DEF – 16 disposals (12 kicks), 4 marks and laid 3 tackles – 62 (67/9)
James Peatling $102.4k DEF/MID – 17 disposals (12 kicks), kicked 1.0, 5 marks and had 6 rebound 50s – 72 (94/11)
Verdict: The Giants had a few Sydney players to share the ball with this week as some filled in for them in the VFL this week. Sproule was dominant in this one with 6 shots on goal and is every chance to return to the AFL side. Shipley was quiet as he only laid the 1 tackles this week while Wehr and Peatling were solid down back as usual although Peatling was a bit down score wise
GOLD COAST
Aspley 6.8.44 def. by Gold Coast 19.8.122
Jy Farrar $236.9k FWD – 17 disposals (12 kicks) and took 5 marks – 65 (70/4)
Elijah Hollands $180.3k MID/FWD – 19 disposals (12 kicks) and had 4 inside 50s – 65 (59/3)
Malcolm Rosas $130.8k FWD – 27 disposals (13 kicks), kicked 1.1, 3 marks, 7 tackles and had 4 inside 50s – 112 (70/6)
Aiden Fyfe $102.4k DEF/MID – 17 disposals (9 kicks), 7 marks and laid 3 tackles – 77 (74/7)
Joel Jeffrey $102.4k DEF – 15 disposals (11 kicks), kicked 9.0, 8 marks and laid 3 tackles – 131 (60/9)
Hawego Paul Oea $102.4k MID/FWD – 18 disposals (14 kicks), kicked 2.0, 6 marks and had 7 inside 50s – 80 (68/7)
Ned Moyle $102.4k RUC – 15 disposals (9 kicks), 3 marks, 4 inside 50s and had 15 hitouts – 60 (75/3)
Verdict: Farrar, Hollands and Fyfe were solid in this one with a fair bit of the ball each with Fyfe the more rounded game. Rosas was among the best in his best game of the season in what looks like a midfield role. Oea was good kicking the 2 goals along with 18 touches as was Moyle who is holding his own since the mid-season draft but all eyes on Jeffrey here who was BOG kicking 9 goals. He kicked 3 goals in their last game a couple weeks ago and would be very likely to debut
SYDNEY
Some players filled in for GWS’ win against Brisbane
Braeden Campbell $235.8k MID/FWD – 12 disposals (8 kicks), kicked 1.2 and took 3 marks – 57 (87/2)
Logan McDonald $212k FWD – 15 disposals (11 kicks) and took 8 marks – 70 (73/6)
Will Gould $123.9k DEF – 13 disposals (10 kicks), 3 marks and had 4 rebound 50s – 50 (56/10)
Marc Sheather $102.4k FWD – 19 disposals (12 kicks), kicked 1.1, 9 marks and had 5 inside 50s – 81 (58/8)
Verdict: A few of the Sydney lads filled in for the GWS VFL side this week and a lot of them had some impact in the win. Campbell returned from injury which is good to see although I’m sure coaches have traded him out. McDonald was solid with 8 marks as was Sheather who was good all round. Gould was decent but nothing to push for a debut
WAFL
PEEL THUNDER (FREMANTLE)
West Perth 12.10.82 def. Peel Thunder 8.10.58
Stefan Giro $170k MID – 8 disposals (5 kicks) and took 3 marks – 30 (67/10)
Nathan O’Driscoll $117.3k MID – 19 disposals (13 kicks) and had 4 inside 50s – 63 (61/12)
Verdict: Giro was quiet in this game only getting the 8 touches while O’Driscoll found enough of it but didn’t impact much defensively
WEST COAST
East Perth 13.12.90 def. by West Coast 14.8.92
Luke Foley $197.1k DEF – 25 disposals (17 kicks), 4 marks, 3 tackles and had 6 rebound 50s – 92 (74/10)
Bailey Williams $191.7k RUC/FWD – 13 disposals (6 kicks), kicked 1.2 and had 10 hitouts – 62 (65/7)
Ben Johnson $123.9k DEF – 22 disposals (11 kicks), kicked 1.0, 4 marks and had 4 rebound 50s – 75 (61/10)
Isiah Winder $117.3k DEF/MID – 19 disposals (7 kicks), kicked 1.0 and took 3 marks – 68 (59/4)
Verdict: Foley continued his great run of form with a great all round game as well as Johnson although I don’t think he’ll debut this year. Williams was solid as a backup ruck and Winder had a decent game with 19 touches and a goal

Thanks Alza. Considering Jeffrey or Peatling if selected to get some cash and have a playing bench player for coverage.
