There are some great options playing in the reserves at the moment so let’s hope they can get a decent run in the AFL to give us some downgrade options and some cover for the upcoming byes.

McPherson was among the best with 29 touches and 12 marks in a great game. Dowling played well again with 22 touches and 8 marks as did Nankervis with 17 touches and 8 marks with Borlase taking 10 marks with 16 touches.

Jackson backed up last week with another good game with 23 touches, 10 tackles and 5 clearances. Visentini was decent with 9 touches, 8 tackles and 30 hitouts.

Lohmann had a great game with 17 touches, 8 tackles and 2 goals. Smith played his first game after being injure and kicked 1.3 from 10 touches.
CARLTON

Carroll played well with 21 touches, 6 marks and 4 clearances while Binns also did with 24 touches and 4 marks. Cowan played his first game in the VFL and had 13 touches, 5 marks and 4 tackles. Mirkov had 38 hitouts from 9 touches.
COLLINGWOOD

Macrae is in great form after another good game of 26 touches, 11 marks and 8 clearances. Ryan played well with 23 touches and 4 marks. Begg returned from injury well with 11 touches, 1 goal, 7 clearances and 22 hitouts. Draper also played his first game and had 21 touches and 4 clearances.
ESSENDON

Bryan played well again with 14 touches, 7 tackles and 46 hitouts. Montgomerie also did with 24 touches and 11 marks. Baldwin played his best game with 19 touches, 2 goals and 7 marks. Wanganeen kicked 2 goals from 15 touches.
GOLD COAST
Gold Coast 17.10.112 def Casey 13.14.92
Moyle was excellent with 42 hitouts, 7 clearances, 6 marks and 19 touches but will remain a backup to Witts. Constable keeps getting it done with 31 touches, 5 marks, 5 tackles and 10 clearances and can’t really do much more to push his case. Burgess kicked 3.2 from 14 touches and is having a good season as is McLaughlin who had 16 touches with 3 goals.
GEELONG

Willis backed up his great game with another, he had 21 touches, 6 clearances and kicked 3 goals. Clohesy played well also with 12 touches, 8 tackles and a goal.
GWS

Fleeton was great again with 31 touches and 10 marks to really push his case. Fahey was decent with 23 touches and a goal and Gruzewski played his best game after having 12 touches and 10 marks while kicking 3.2.
HAWTHORN

Mackenzie backed up last week’s great game with another with 30 touches, 6 marks, 8 tackles and a goal and surely that is enough to return this time. Ramsden returned after 1 game in the AFL very well with 22 touches, 5 marks, 11 clearances, 35 hitouts and kicked 2.2. Long was good with 21 touches and 7 marks as was Butler who kicked 4 goals from 17 touches.
MELBOURNE

Laurie had another good game with 24 touches and 7 marks as did Woewodin with 24 touches and 5 marks. Adams played his best game with 17 touches and 8 marks.

Phillips played his first VFL game this year and played well. He had 25 touches although just 7 kicks with 7 tackles. Harvey had a great game with 17 touches and kicked 4 goals as did Ford who kicked 3 goals from 23 touches.

Gould returned to the VFL nicely with 20 touches and 9 marks. Rankin played his best game with 18 touches with 7 tackles. Warner had a decent game with 19 touches and a goal. McAndrew is also having a good year with 16 touches, 4 clearances and 33 hitouts.

McLean returned to the VFL and had 24 touches but only 8 kicks with 5 clearances. Busslinger played well with 17 touches and 11 marks.

Henry had a great game with 28 touches, 6 marks and 5 tackles as did Sturt returning to the WAFL with 24 touches a goal and 7 marks. Worner was solid with 23 touches. Kuek played his best game with some ruck time with 17 touches and 9 hitouts.

Quiet games by all here with Baker having 12 touches and 4 marks.

Dew was also asked about Charlie Constable .
He said: “He’s been close. We started him at half-back. We’re still exploring that, obviously because of our midfield depth, we tried to explore another avenue for him to play AFL footy. He’s been close a number of times in that half-back role. Every now and then in the VFL we’ve put him into that midfield spot. Brayden Fiorini has got that midfield spot just ahead of him and he’s relishing a little bit of extra responsibility with Touk out. We are still exploring that secondary role.”
