Connor Ballenden $146.1k FWD – 17 disposals (15 kicks), 9 marks, 3 tackles and 4 rebound 50s – 79 (100/4)
Nakia Cockatoo $123.9k MID/FWD – 8 disposals (6 kicks) and took 4 marks – 33 (45/3)
Tom Joyce $123.9k FWD/MID – 34 disposals (15 kicks), 6 marks and 4 inside 50s – 99 (99/1)
James Madden $123.9k DEF/FWD – 18 disposals (12 kicks), 3 marks and 4 inside 50s – 58 (71/3)
Brock Smith $123.9k DEF – 21 disposals (15 kicks), 5 marks and 4 rebound 50s – 81 (69/4)
Ely Smith $123.9k FWD/MID – 7 disposals (3 kicks) – 25 (39/2)
Harry Sharp $117.3k DEF/MID – 3 disposals (2 kicks) – 16 (51/4)
Henry Smith $117.3k RUC – 16 disposals (6 kicks), kicked 3.0, 4 marks, 3 tackles and 6 hitouts – 84 (49/3)
Carter Michael $102.4k MID – 32 disposals (20 kicks), 12 marks, 5 inside 50s and 5 rebound 50s – 125 (96/4)
Verdict: Michael and Joyce were among the best with over 30 touches each. Ballenden could be a chance this week with the injuries to the Lions back line but Fullarton has been quite for his standards for a couple weeks but H. Smith had his best game of the season with 3 goals but would be low down the pecking order. Sharp injured his ankle early on and will be out for 12 weeks

COLLINGWOOD
Sydney 12.14.86 def. Collingwood 8.5.53
Will Kelly $135.4k FWD – 9 disposals (8 kicks), kicked 1.0 and took 5 marks – 48 (50/4)
Finlay Macrae $126.3k MID/FWD – 20 disposals (9 kicks) and laid 5 tackles – 77 (83/2)
Trent Bianco $123.9k DEF/MID – 18 disposals (14 kicks), 3 marks, 7 tackles and 6 inside 50s – 86 (106/2)
Jay Rantall $123.9k MID – 14 disposals (8 kicks), 4 marks and 3 tackles – 62 (84/3)
Verdict: Macrae was good again as he tries to get back into the AFL side with Bianco among the best in his 2nd game back. Heard he got 23 touches but the stats I have say 18. Could be in line for a debut so one to keep an eye on
ESSENDON
Essendon 12.11.83 def. Frankston 10.8.68
Ned Cahill $161.2k FWD – 21 disposals (12 kicks), kicked 1.0, 3 marks and 5 tackles – 86 (85/4)
Alec Waterman $148.4k FWD – 25 disposals (13 kicks), 4 marks, 5 tackles and 6 inside 50s – 91 (73/3)
Tom Hird $123.9k MID – 19 disposals (16 kicks), 5 marks, 5 tackles and 5 inside 50s – 90 (64/4)
Nick Bryan $123.9k RUC – 11 disposals (9 kicks) and had 42 hitouts – 76 (85/3)
Verdict: Cahill continued his good run with 20 touches and a goal. Hird played his best game of the year with Bombers fans licking their lips at the thought of a Hird returning. Waterman had a great game only kicking the 1 point it could have been even bigger
GWS GIANTS
Richmond 19.9.123 def. GWS 3.8.26
Conor Stone $162k FWD – 14 disposals (8 kicks) and 4 inside 50s – 40 (50/2)
Nick Shipley $123.9k MID – 24 disposals (15 kicks), 4 marks and 4 tackles – 92 (85/4)
Zach Sproule $123.9k FWD – 18 disposals (11 kicks), 5 marks, 5 tackles, 5 rebound 50s and 5 hitouts – 87 (87/4)
Jacob Wehr $117.3k DEF – 19 disposals (15 kicks), 5 marks and 5 rebound 50s – 73 (65/4)
Will Shaw $102.4k DEF – 14 disposals (7 kicks) and kicked 1 goal – 48 (40/4)
Verdict: Shipley, Sproule and Wehr were all among the best in their big loss. They have all strung decent games together and are pushing their case to get back into the side or in Wehr’s case to debut
GEELONG
Casey 7.15.57 def. Geelong 8.8.56
Ben Jarvis $139.2k DEF/FWD – 9 disposals (7 kicks), kicked 1.0, 5 marks and laid 9 tackles – 82 (73/4)
Oscar Brownless $123.9k FWD – 14 disposals (7 kicks), 3 marks and laid 9 tackles – 81 (71/4)
Sam De Koning $123.9k DEF – 10 disposals (4 kicks) and kicked 1.0 – 31 (58/2)
Max Holmes $121.8k MID/FWD – 13 disposals (8 kicks), 5 tackles and 6 inside 50s – 61 (70/2)
Nick Stevens $117.3k DEF – 18 disposals (14 kicks), 4 marks, 7 tackles and 4 rebound 50s – 92 (75/3)
Verdict: Jarvis, Brownless and Stevens were all good in their narrow loss to Casey but hard to see them coming in and stringing games together. Holmes was the sub for the AFL side and didn’t do anything to force his way in when he backed up in the VFL
GOLD COAST
Gold Coast 8.13.61 def. by Brisbane 19.7.121
Alex Davies $102.4k MID – 18 disposals (5 kicks) and laid 7 tackles – 71 (63/4)
Aiden Fyfe $102.4k DEF/MID – 17 disposals (13 kicks) and took 6 marks – 69 (74/4)
Joel Jeffrey $102.4k DEF – 18 disposals (16 kicks), kicked 3.3, 9 marks and 4 inside 50s – 103 (47/4)
Hawego Paul Oea $102.4k MID/FWD – 23 disposals (15 kicks), 6 marks, 6 tackles and 4 inside 50s – 104 (75/4)
Verdict: Davies and Fyfe continue with their solid seasons while Jeffrey and Oea had their best of the season although Oea did his hammy and will miss 4 weeks. Hard to read with Sexton, Fiorini, Harbrow and Brodie performing well in the reserves who you would imagine to be next in line but they could be out of favour
BOX HILL HAWKS (HAWTHORN)
Box Hill 23.12.150 def. North Melbourne 6.6.42
Finn Maginness $195.6k MID – 14 disposals (7 kicks) – 46 (60/3)
Conor Nash $193.4k FWD – 12 disposals (8 kicks), 6 marks, 3 tackles and 5 inside 50s – 56 (67/4)
Josh Morris $145.1k FWD – 16 disposals (11 kicks), kicked 5.1, 6 marks, 3 tackles and 6 inside 50s – 105 (54/4)

Connor Downie $117.3k MID – 13 disposals (7 kicks), kicked 1.1 and had 4 rebound 50s – 44 (45/4)
Jack Saunders $102.4k MID/FWD – 12 disposals (9 kicks), kicked 3.0 and took 5 marks – 74 (43/3)
Verdict: Morris had his best game of the year kicking 5 goals while Jeka continued his good VFL season with 7 shots on goal for 3 goals. Downie looks to be a bit of a low but consistent scorer and Brockman didn’t play but he could have been a travelling emergency for the AFL side
CASEY DEMONS (MELBOURNE)
Casey 7.15.57 def. Geelong 8.8.56
Neville Jetta $198.6k DEF – 22 disposals (11 kicks) and laid 3 tackles – 66 (77/4)
Toby Bedford $137k FWD – 12 disposals (9 kicks), kicked 1.1, 6 marks and 3 tackles – 70 (81/4)
Deakyn Smith $102.4k DEF – 16 disposals (10 kicks), 6 marks, 3 tackles and 4 rebound 50s – 72 (61/4)
Verdict: Jetta and Bedford continue to perform well at VFL level but hard to see any inclusions with their AFL side still undefeated
NORTH MELBOURNE
Box Hill 23.12.150 def. North Melbourne 6.6.42
Will Phillips $204.7k MID – 15 disposals (5 kicks) and took 3 marks – 44 (44/1)
Atu Bosenavulagi $175.5k FWD – 13 disposals (7 kicks) and took 4 marks – 46 (46/1)
Eddie Ford $117.3k FWD – 16 disposals (12 kicks), 8 marks and 4 inside 50s – 74 (51/4)
Verdict: Ford has been the mainstay of the rookies in their VFL side and produced his best game of the season. Phillips was an unused sub last week and backed it up the next day, he was okay with 15 touches but failed to lay a tackle and Atu not forcing his way back in either
RICHMOND
Richmond 19.9.123 def. GWS 3.8.26
Callum Coleman-Jones $161.2k RUC/FWD – 19 disposals (14 kicks), kicked 5.1, 7 marks, 4 inside 50s and 16 hitouts – 128 (106/4)
Thomson Dow $146.1k MID – 27 disposals (16 kicks), 6 marks and 5 inside 50s – 97 (69/2)

Maurice Rioli $117.3k MID/FWD – 13 disposals (7 kicks) and 4 inside 50s – 35 (55/4)
Samson Ryan $117.3k RUC – 13 disposals (8 kicks), kicked 2.2, 6 marks and 12 hitouts – 77 (55/4)
Verdict: Great games from CJ, Dow and Martyn in their huge win. Not sure they will come in or for Martyn to come back in just yet but ones to watch
SANDRINGHAM (ST. KILDA)
Sandringham 13.9.87 def. Williamstown 11.12.78
Darragh Joyce $186.4k DEF – 19 disposals (16 kicks), 3 marks and 7 rebound 50s – 66 (74/2)
Paul Hunter $134.3k RUC – 14 disposals (8 kicks), kicked 1.0, 6 tackles and 30 hitouts – 99 (92/3)
Leo Connolly $123.9k DEF/MID – 18 disposals (12 kicks), 3 marks and 5 rebound 50s – 58 (75/4)
Verdict: Solid games from Joyce and Connolly but with Geary returning he would be next in line. Hunter continues his good year and with Marshall injured he is small chance to return
SYDNEY
Sydney 12.14.86 def. Collingwood 8.5.53
Logan McDonald $251.3k FWD – 13 disposals (8 kicks), kicked 1.0 and took 6 marks – 62 (57/3)
Joel Amartey $195.6k RUC/FWD – 18 disposals (13 kicks), kicked 3.3, 8 marks, 3 tackles and 5 hitouts – 106 (86/4)
Matthew Ling $163k DEF – 21 disposals (13 kicks) and took 10 marks – 86 (64/4)
Will Gould $123.9k DEF – 16 disposals (14 kicks) and took 4 marks – 64 (65/4)
Marc Sheather $102.4k FWD – 17 disposals (12 kicks), kicked 1.0, 5 marks, 5 tackles and 5 inside 50s – 87 (57/4)
Verdict: Gould and McDonald were okay without being great while Ling had a great game with 10 marks. Unsure if any of the players above will come in with the more experienced R. Clarke, Stephens and L. Taylor all having great games

Great work Alza!
I heard Waterman played in the midfield on the weekend for the Bombers VFL team which contributed to his high disposal count.
Maybe he’s learnt that if he wants the ball he’s got a better chance of going and getting it himself…….
….or it could be part of a training assessment program ie he’s moving from the goalsquare and 50 metre arc to outside 50 metres and into centre square radius…….
Which one should we tell Wighty TDA???
We will tell Wighty Waterman played deep in the backline and took 15 kick outs playing on 12 times!
Yeah,…..I’ve got Ridley too……
I heard he was sharing ruck duties !!! An absolute must get if/when named.
Ummm I forgot I already have him warming my bench…….doh !!
Thanks TDA!
Yeah I did think that as it was a huge jump in touches and only 1 shot on goal. Hopefully he can come in and play a role similar to Langford
