Rookie Review – Round 13

Written by Alza on June 11 2024

2 weeks of the byes are over and the rookies have dried up. McMullin is one of the best options although is a regular sub. Dowling will be heavily traded in this week but has only played 1 game and has a bye to come but options are slim.

With the options so limited it is likely that we will be bringing in a rookie early. At this time of year it isn’t so bad as teams are close to complete but bench cover is still necessary. Dowling is the best option to go early at the moment as he should be locked into the Crows 22 and has DPP. Worth reminding that it will be 3 more weeks before Dowling and Kreuger increase in price with both having a bye.

Players on the bubble are marked with an asterisk*

The Bad: Dawson was heavily traded in this week but was subbed out very early with a shoulder injury without a touch.

The Good: Macrae played his best game in a couple of years with a fair amount of mid time. He had 16 touches, 4 tackles, 5 clearances and a goal. Morris made the most of his low 57% TOG. He had 12 touches, 5 marks, 6 score involvements and a goal. Garcia had a great game but it could’ve been even better with 5 clangers and just 1 mark and 1 tackle. He also had 23 touches at 74% with 11 contested, 8 score involvements and a goal.

The Bad: Wilson struggled in this game and was stat less at half time which is a shame for the coaches that were holding until his bye. Ended up with 10 touches, 2 marks but 4 clangers.

    1. Should be pretty good with Cox out for a while and Mihocek out for a couple of weeks. Good cover also if you have a loop at R3 and can switch between F8 and R3
