Round 2 is over and it brings our 1st price changes for the year. Only some with a lot more coming this week.
It’s an important week to get your trades right especially if there’s some rookies you missed or a fallen premium you just need to get. Each line has a ranking except the rucks for our current crop of rookies that are on the bubble (changing price after their next game). Based on a few factors but at this early stage a lot of it is a flip of the coin.
Players on the bubble are marked with an asterisk*

Good: Bice wasn’t the sub this week and had a great score. He had 14 touches at 93%, 3 marks, 4 tackles, 5 intercepts and a goal. A potential option after his bye. O’Sullivan played very well especially in the last quarter with the game on the line. He had 15 touches, 7 marks, 3 tackles, 9 intercepts and 8 one percenters. He played 93% game time which is a real positive for his job security.
Bad: Trainor failed to back up his Rd 1 score, he had 10 touches and 2 marks with 4 clangers adding to the poor score.
Sub: Woewodin was on pretty early with 56% TOG. He had 10 touches at 90%. Smith also came on fairly early to have 7 touches and 3 marks from 49% TOG.

Good: O’Driscoll did it again with 25 touches, 3 marks, 4 clearances and over 500m gained. Looks like a must have. Hall wasn’t named at selection but came into the side and played well. He had 15 touches with 14 contested, 3 tackles and a goal.
Sub: Sheldrick played 14% of the game for 3 touches. Draper got the role again and had 9 touches and 4 tackles from 28% TOG. Long came on extremely early as he ended up playing 75% of the game. He had 13 touches and 9 tackles. Moraes came on very early with Lukosius getting injured. 17 touches at 94% with 6 marks made it a nice debut.

Good: Dewar started the game on fire kicking his 2 goals in the 1st quarter. He ended up with 20 touches and 7 tackles. Clohesy was the sub but was on early in the 2nd quarter to finish with 57% TOG. He did more than play a role kicking 2 goals from 16 touches with 6 marks and 4 tackles. Powell-Pepper bounced back nicely with 16 touches, 9 marks, 10 score involvements and 3.2 in a purely forward role.
Bad: McInnes unfortunately did his knee in the 1st quarter.
Sub: Menzie played 27% game time for his 3 touches.

Leaderboard After Round 2
N. O’Driscoll – 3

X. Lindsay – 1
Tsatas with a broken finger apparently, will miss at least one week. Not sure if I’ll trade or not, but him down to Murphy Reid will be tempting.
If it’s only one week I’m holding. Best 18 rounds make it easier and I have more pressing problems in my team anyway.
One week plus the bye.
Does anyone know which finger?
I’ve only seen broken hand as his injury. With best 18 I would suggest to hold him. He had a good game and should come straight back. Parish will probably be back also but I don’t think it’s worth a trade when he has good job security even if his role changes a bit.
“Tsatas will have surgery for his finger on Monday afternoon. With the Bombers’ bye scheduled for round four, (he’s) only expected to miss one game and will look to Gather Round in Rd5 for an expected return to play.”
Essendon FC
These are all great points, thanks all. Unfortunately I do need to find money to upgrade Flynn (R2), in the next two weeks, but I’ll play around with trades and see!
My backline rookies are patton, reid and trainor. Was leaning towards just waiting till next week to move patton on for bice but would you guys think it’s worth also moving on one of trainor reid for O’sullivan?
Nah it’s probably not worth it. Moving Patton to O’Sullivan this week may be the best option
You’d go osullivan over Bice? Is that because of job security?
Yeah it is. Sydney have more injured players coming back in the next couple of weeks and could push Bice out. He has been good so could hold his spot but I have more faith in O’Sullivan with Geelong having less injuries and less players to take his spot. Let’s hope Stanley stays out of the team and doesn’t push SDK back.
Oh man if Stanley came back that would suck as I chose SDK over freijah as my Perryman replacement last week
Also is it worth moving on FOS for Henderson from the demons? Or just persevere with him and save the trade?
That is tough and I am in the same situation but I am leaning towards holding. If you have NOD, Lindsay and Ashcroft I think you can let him sit there and hope his scoring increases
Because it’s a Sunday game makes it even harder.
If we get the word early (LOL) that he’s going to be sub/sub’d then trade him.
That’s why I might trade, save on the stress medicine LOL.
Currently ranked #357. My teams in a pretty good spot with money in the bank and no must trade outs.
I know the Tsatas injury shouldn’t keep him sidelined long, but is it a good move to downgrade him to Henderson, and trade out FOS to bring in Callaghan?
TU – Yes
TD – No
