SC Racing – Round 5

Written by Motts on October 28 2021

Round 4 of SuperCoach Racing has been run and won and we have a new leading stable for our group with Alan’s stable AirBNB Cleaners. Alan’s stable is sitting just 3 points ahead of our previous leader in Way with their stable Dancing Madman@sct. Well done to both Alan and Way with both being ranked inside the top 200! Mark (MJ, is that you?)’s stable TheBigShort@SCT topped the scorers for the round in the group with 211 in what turned out to be a tricky round. We have 7 stables ranked inside the top 400 so it is a very competitive group.

Derby Day is the best day on the racing calendar all year round bar none. The best of the best will go around on Saturday at Flemington and we also have some high prizemoney races up in Sydney to complement them as well. See below my thoughts on Group 1 races in Melbourne as well as the SuperCoach Racing classified Group 1 in Sydney. For anyone that hasn’t joined yet please feel free to join the group code 392619 (or league as they call it in SC Racing).

As always, note that the below is purely based off SuperCoach value and SuperCoach options and is in no way shape or form a betting preview of the races.

Flemington – Race 5 Group 1 Empire Rose

The smallest (just) of fields of the group1’s this week and we have some pricey options at the top of the market. Like all races on a day like this it is a wide open race but would be narrowing down my selections between Colette ($475,000), Mystic Journey ($400,000) and Tofane ($500,000).

Flemington – Race 6 Group 1 Victoria Derby

Three year olds assemble here for the Derby and in SuperCoach Racing this means we will have some decent bargain options to select from here. Forgot You ($150,000) and Gunstock ($100,000) look to be the best of the lot.

Flemington – Race 7 Group 1 Coolmore

We have a large field of three year olds assembled here for the Coolmore and as always this looks like such an intriguing race. In The Congo ($150,000), Paulele ($225,000) and Extreme Warrior ($200,000) look to be the pick of the bunch

Flemington – Race 8 Group 1 Cantala

Always such an open race and as such think it is hard to recommend too many here but also hard to rule many of them out so best result here is to back yourself. Having said that think Mr Brightside ($175,000) looks tremendous value.

Rosehill – Race 7 Group 1 Golden Eagle

Very large field assembled here and the two at the top of the market look to be the best options with Private Eye ($275,000) and I’m Thunderstruck ($250,000) standing out in an even field

Good luck to all for this round of SuperCoach Racing. Let me know in the comments below your thoughts on your stables for round 5 and don’t forget to join the group.

Cheers
