If I was rapt that my Tech Team was ranked inside the top 1% for the round with 2068 points, then Brad’s SC Gulls with 2175 was surely sitting right towards the pointy end of star coaches for the week. Ranked 48th for the round is an extraordinary feat given Brad is playing with a team supplied to him at the start of the season. Could have been 6th overall had he not left Jai Serong sitting on the defensive pine. Oh SC you’ve done it again!
Selective trading in this case has lifted The SC Gulls to the top of the Tech League after four weeks of play. The Bont was brought in to captain the side, and Big Max as back up. Added to these is defensive shore up in The Magician (Zorko) and The Muppett (Houston) along with the after bye swap to Max Holmes in the mids. Well played Brad.
Second for the week is Wayne’s Cham Tech scoring 2148 putting him into 142nd spot for the round. Fantastic effort also, using the imported Bont to skipper the side, and including new recruits Worrell, Jackson and Holmes, but sadly missing Naicos due to that late out, and another choosing to omit Serong from the squad.
With 2137 and a top 200 for the week is Amir’s Ninjas, using initial squad member Butters to get the double points, despite having the Bont in the side. Amir’s other recruits include Zerrett, Zorko, Short and Gawn. In a tale of what coulda, shoulda, there was a very valuable 103 extra points sitting on the defensive bench with a massive 126 from Serong and a handy 90 from Grlj, which would have elevated The Ninjas into fifth spot for the round, but with The Bont as captain, just three points from top spot. Cest La Vie.
Rounding out the top five are Make AdelaideGA with 2115 including a great, if not slightly biased, Crow POD in Wayne Milera, and with 2110 Lost Lands. Both of these coaches used The Bont to double the points and both were placed inside the top 500 for the week. Great effort folks.
Four rounds in and the changes are starting to show. How hard have you gone in the trading yard. Let us know in the poll below, and let us know in the comments if you have any moves up your sleeve, or any regrets at this stage. Thanks for reading.
Also left Serong and Grilj on the bench in what turned out as a costly mistake. Big trade in of English is the ultimate summary of my season in both Tech and Classic so far. It would be nice to use trades to upgrade and not just replace injuries ir suspensions
Hi Jimmy,
Thanks for rubbing salt into my Serong sized wound! I was not a happy chappy. But, very much a first world problem. Looking to build this team as it’s absolutely demolishing my other. Not sure in trades at this stage…..so many options.
This season has been brutal, sometimes self inflicted, sometimes not.
I’m just looking for a week to not use trades to deal with injuries.
Hearing you TT, three of my seven tech trades have been for Injury or suspension, now have English as well because he was my Xerri replacement, using the extra cash to get Bont in.
Not as horrific as my classic side that sits 79k places lower than this tech team. All seven of my trades there were to replace (In order). Young, Petracca, Rozee, Gulden. Xerri, Rivers and now English. Not much chance to fix the failures let alone grab the cash cows.
