SCTTL – Round 8 Review

Written by JimmyDee on May 7 2023

Looking at the top ten this week you wouldn’t know this was the Tech league. All of the top ten scored above 2400 with Barrie’s Wet Dogs showing us that last years high finish wasn’t a flash in the pan with a humungous 2535. His lowest scoring unique was Adam Treloar with 82 and the majority over the ton.

Paul, sorry to say, could have topped 2500 as well except for poor coaching, or inattention to detail (or whatev LoL) His MBuzz pathetically choked and stalled on 2499. Still, despite this system “glitch” Paul has definitely established this team firmly at number one, and clearly the one to chase.

In the run down third spot on the podium was Zac’s Lathaz SCTTL with a pretty spiffy 2476, keeping him ensconced in the top six at this point.  Haydo’s Heros (2469), YeeterTECH (2443), Maxismen (2432), Liam Jones&theSix tied for seventh with FD’s Nuns (2416), David Johnson Rules (2414) and Cripps Walk rounded out the top ten for Ash with 2402.

Needless to say that is exceptional scoring in round 8 of a Tech League, and though I feel deeply in the shadow of these coaches, I must happily report my top score for the year (2337) despite using three trades to snaffle Cogs. This is not to abuse my reporting privileges for a “good brag” as Motts would say, but merely to note my prediction of last week that I would get off the bottom, and I did, leaping gloriously up to 47th.

Nearly everyone kept our starting ruckman, Marshall, but we wouldn’t be too pleased he did not appear in quarter four after tonning up. Do we keep him? Two polls below, one for a week, and one for two weeks. Let us know your thoughts.

If RoMo is out for one week, do we trade him ?

  1. How could you miss the Ninjas in your write up Jimmy Dee? Had 2,436 this week , almost as good as my actual team 🙂

18 trades left, no boosts and totally screwed if Marshall misses games….

    1. If it’ll make you feel better Ninja, the BomberBoys , whom the Wet Dogs smashed on Sunday, only has 17 trades left….. with Marshall and Grundy……..

  2. OMG Amir, my really, really bad. Sorry !!!

I took the scores from game day and I guess must have assumed all those in bold were winners and because MBuzz was bolded I missed you as his opponent. Most unprofessional to the “SuperCoach” in third spot in the group.

A shout out to sixth overall this week.

  3. I have Marshall and Grundy and no back up as I dumped the Rat last week. 20 trades but at least I’m climbing the ladder – only 47 spots to go. Long way to go in the season, right??

  4. Hey Jimmy Dee
Yeah , slightly disappointed not to score 2500 but after l took score of Wilmont , l thought to myself what if Zieball was a late out . l would have scored nothing with no bench cover .
Great scores and comp and starting line up at start of year Jimmy Dee .
Good luck for rest of season SCT Tech team.

  5. Just keep sliding, hoping my more conservative strategy pulls me back, it’s a long season and I’m preparing for some carnage
