SCTTL: Tech League Week One Review

The round started with just three players not named, not a bad effort for a side that has to be named before teams drop. Chayce Jones, I thought would get the nod for that wing defence role, but sadly no. Finn Macrae doesn’t seem to get it as easy as his big brother and I thought Bailey Laurie showed enough in the trial to earn a guernsey.

However, that leaves us with food for thought this week. Do we replace them straight off the bat for a seemingly obvious Milan Mulder, or do we look at corrections early? Are we happy to look at another week for the likes of McKercher, McAuliffe and Rivers, or can we strengthen elsewhere first. Let us know.

We started the round with 48 teams, a pretty good effort given the shorter lead in time this year, and finished it with just 35. Apologies to those who were excluded at the end of the round but your team was obviously not themed as the team I provided. Of the 36 teams left, Wayne’s ChamTech, Kerries Make Adelaide GA and Nick’s Shedda Tech all chose the correct blend of rookies and put the “V” on the highest scorer for the week, Caleb Serong. Well done on grabbing the early lead.

The spread from first to last is 112 points, which in this format is peanuts, so happy trading and good luck to those of us left standing. Let us know your trade thoughts without giving too much away.

  1. Thanks Jimmy.

A couple of us have already replied on Hutto’s Tech League Trade Talk, so in respect to your wishes nobody should read ‘em. LOL

With the best 18 for the bye rounds IMO the hardest decision is to decide whether to use trades before we see the one week wonders perform again.

That’s what will be the test or do we feel lucky and crack?
