Tech League Review

Written by JimmyDee on June 13 2022

Sadly, my tech team didn’t swap guernsies for the round. Not sure how I forgot to manage the team for the week but I think because I had State bowls titles over the long weekend I was suitably distracted into thinking I changed them at the end of the previous round as I usually do, but NO!

A paltry 762 from 6 players might read good average but it does not help in the overall where I have dropped to the bottom eight. If there’s an upside I have 24 players available if I’m lucky at the selection table. Probably won’t happen as I’m not a SC Gods favourite.

The next lowest was a high def score (1080) from Hazza’s Heroes who has been on the podium a couple of times in these write ups. Altogether lower scores prevailed with another nine coaches not reaching the 1400 mark, and the majority in the 1400 and 1500s.

Top score and first time podium goes to Ashley’s Mr Plow(man) with the only 2000 (2007) of the week. Runner up Gumbies _TT with 1938 was the closest and the consistent Bombers SCTTL (1929), Romo Tech up there again with 1911 and Lost Lands finishing the top five with 1897.

Nothing changed at the top with Techiewannabes holding a decreasing lead of 241 over the fast finishing Romo Tech, with Jomo seemingly timing a late surge to the top. How many trades do these guys have? Can Glenda hang on, or can Jomo surge further. Will Amir’s Ninjas fight back from his worst score of the year to stay in reach, and will the ever consistent Ninius and Bombers maintain the positive trend toward pulling off the W.

With the one bye left, how are you looking. Is this your best bye week, do you have trades left to continue the upgrade process or do you want to buy any of my 16 trades and three boosts for the right price?

  1. Wow Jimmy Dee, fielding 6 and scoring 762 is a fantastic result!! But seriously, am sorry to hear about the mishap, we’ve all done something similar at some point of our SC careers I’m sure!

Ninjas had a tough R13 with only 16 on field but should have plenty of bodies for R14 and 6 trades to finish things off over the next 2-3 weeks (SC Gods willing) – nailing the C will be super important for me from here as well as avoiding injuries.

Not sure yet the plan for this week, will see if Parish is okay and Preuss gets named (surely he does right) before making trades.

Great work to those Tech Coaches with 1900+ this week – I’ll be aiming for that R14 then pumping out 2400++ after that !!!!

  2. Wow, a tough break there JD.
From a fellow bowler, I hope the bowls was more successful to salve the wounds.
You’ll have to update us on how you went

  3. I’ve definitely been chasing hard so nice to be in second but I’m down to 8 before making any trades this week. Definitely doing 2 or 3 this week and Parish might force a fourth. Gonna have to hold on for dear life down the stretch.

  4. Had 1819 this week, which was finally a decent score for Tech Difficulties. This had Oliver as captain and had 18 playing, with a couple of those 18 being Owens and Parish

  5. Wow, top spot for the week is nice. Makes me feel better given my Tech Team has been outscoring my regular team recently. First season doing the Tech league and a massive learning curve, good fun though.
