Does anyone have news on extent of Yeo injury?
I am thinking Motts Manoeuvre should Cowan score well if Yeo is likely to only miss one game.
Meanwhile I need to think about life after Yeo.
TU: Roll out the Motts Manoeuvre – Yeo will be back next week
TD: Yeo isn’t the bloke you want to take a chance on
Was thinking the same Baz- but calves are ‘old age’ injuries and can be a bit persistent. Was relatively quiet in practice match- compared to talk of earlier pre season- where he was explosive & ‘the old Yeo’!
Didn’t like to do it- but he’s out and yep- it really mucked up the side!
Anyone willing to take a punt on Daniel Rioli? With Short spending more time through the middle I’m thinking Rioli could really grow into that half-back distributor role nicely! Am i crazy??
So, Melbourne selections McVee, Laurie and Chandler – all rookie priced – but I haven’t seen any mention of them in the pre-season.
Are they just filling holes to cover injury or do they have serious prospects of job security?
Any Melbourne supporters out there?
Of the three, I think Chandler might be the best chance. I am thinking his scoring potential may be better than Greene, who is on all our benches.
Maybe JS is less clear, but I think is worth a punt. My personal bias is to favor rookies who have been in the system for a little while. So, Chandler did catch my eye.
If you have Davey at F8, Chandler might be a better pick. I think when Tippa is ready, he might claim that spot.
I think I just talked myself into that pick!
My God the panic is real.. I’d love some help below
Some real carnage last night when the teams dropped and a few question marks over other players.
I have what I believe they avg in brackets.
TU: brayshaw (115) & H.Clark (85)
TD: Dawson (110) & Callaghan (75)
I’m so bullish on Clark he played midfield in practice game and had 14 CPs it was only his DE% on a day where it was windy as hell that hurt his score.. and named on the ball again Sunday. If he plays there an swaps to half back he can do 90 average imo. At 300k I’ll take that.
Last decision – who to include in my side: Day or Callaghan?
TU: Will Day – would be playing as my D2, meaning my defensive line is stronger but less ITB ($31k), and would see Chesser on my midfield bench.
TD: Finn Callaghan – would play onfield in my midfield (pushing Mackenzie to the bench), but would mean playing Chesser onfield in defence. Potentially greater cash generation plus more ITB ($149k), but weaker onfield squad for now.
Do they score similarly (or at least similar output for 120k less), or can we expect Day to be the better onfield asset?
All the preparations thrown in the bin following Yeo’s problem!
Now i have to decide on which of the following is a better solution:
T/U Macrae & O.Allen, or
T/D Kelly & Flanders
The talk of Kelly having a better role is tempting and the hype about Flanders seems to be legit, but Macrae seems safe.
With Sunday’s teams in, now thinking I would rather Phillipou for fwd bench, rather than Chandler. But will need to trade out McKenna for Michalanney for the cash to do it.
TU – Keep McKenna and Chandler
TD – Trade them out for Michalanney & Phillipou

Dekoning is interesting? Baggers prefer the dekoning/sos ruck duo?
So the sub-23 comes from the emergency list? And the emergency can be activated anytime?
Does that mean Pittonet could be the sub?
Any ideas about Uwland? Never heard of him but could suit my structure as I jig about Yeo.

I actually looked at it as a blessing in disguise with a bit of cash itb……..took both Mclean and Yeo out, got an extra rookie plus an extra keeper.
Bowes would be a better choice … only seems to have a minor calf injury and expected to be available next week.
Anyone willing to take a punt on Daniel Rioli? With Short spending more time through the middle I’m thinking Rioli could really grow into that half-back distributor role nicely! Am i crazy??
He’s a good user of the footy, so I could see that happening, but I haven’t watched any matches to know if that’s the way they’re leaning.
Thought about him earlier in the year but passed! Looking mint atm!!
this post aged very well! I hope that you picked him.
I did thank you – about time I start a season off on a good note
Trade up Jack mcrae
Trade down jack steele
Anyone know if caminiti from the saints is gonna get picked or not
Will be be but won’t score heavily
With yeo and mclean out I was happy to get Flanders in but also took a risk on Clark am I crazy?
Howdy fellas long time no talk been MIA for a few years how we all been?
Is Flanders legit?
Re. Carl v Rich. How much is Heath Scotland going for, he’s having a ripper game

Thanks Phil,
What you say about Davey makes sense but I have the same fear about Fritsch.

Thank you, Daniel Z, for posting the teams.
I was without internet connection and wasn’t able to update post. Very frustrating to say the least.
Much appreciated that you kept the community updated.
All the best for 2023.
Cheers
CT
No worries – this site has given me a lot over the past few years, and I know it works best when we all pitch in.
What are peoples plans with Phillips?
G’Day guys,
Yeo’s omission has prompted a rethink on my backline structure.
Currently: Doch, Daicos, Jones, Cole, Ginbey, Constable Cowan
(I know Daicos is a tag risk but I’m a mad Pies fan and I’m being obstinate)
I’ve got one spot and $550 odd to fill it.
TU: I. Cummings
TD: J. Ridley
TIA
Hey guys,
Josh Kelly
or
Jack Steele
For my last midfield spot.
Cheers

No phillips or mclean named. Oh how i love SC
