  3. Hewett out. Where the the f*ck did that come from.

Highly doubt D’Ambrosio makes the cut to cover.

2 trades left but I cannot bear another donut, goddamn.

    12

    1
    1. Talk about it… and you can guess which line I don’t have cover on. To cop a donut or make a trade grrr

      0

      2
    2. Hewett out really hurts!
The question being asked is whether he needs to be traded or if he can be dealt with for a week?

      6

      1
      1. Would have been a lot easier if it was next week as Stewart back would be an obvious choice

        10

        0
        1. Ryan or maybe even Lloyd.

Both have decent 3 round averages.

Pendles is the other one , but the Pies have a pretty tough run home.

          3

  4. It’s a nightmare GD.

I’m in a very precarious position to make finals in most of my leagues ranked 7th-9th and even on points. I really need to win to ensure I make it.

I have both Wehr and Mass on extended benches but not overly confident they get up. I will wait for confirmation but am looking at Hewett to Himmelberg as my Hail Mary trade late . Will leave me with 2 trades ( planning on Stewart next week )

The Burg will at least give me nice swing cover with Paddy Mac if I pull the trigger.

    Any timeline on Hewett ?

    5

    1
    1. Hi FD,
      No timeframe as yet.
      From Carlton
“Hewett reported back soreness on Thursday, so was withdrawn from the side for this weekend’s game.”

So nothing new, but as always I will endeavour to find out more and post in the Coaches Box and here.

  5. Aaron Hall an emergency?!
Surely North are playing tricky buggers and bring him in late, because if he is fit he would have to be best 22?
Considering he could have played last week but went conservative given his history

    6

    0
    1. ???
      From Collingwood website –
      IN: Taylor Adams, Isaac Quaynor
      OUT:

Lists Carmichael and Ash on extended bench.

      UPDATE:
      From Collingwood twitter account-
Sorry for the confusion all – Ash and Josh have not been listed as emergencies, they’re on the extended interchange. Final team selected tomorrow. TGI(nearly)F

        1. So that probably tells us what Collingwood are going to do!!

Looking at the 8 man Collingwood bench, it was hard to see how Josh Carmichael and Ash Johnson were going to get a game.

Surely Quaynor, Ginnivan and Bianco play.

Which only leaves one more out of:

          Oliver Henry
          Tyler Brown
          Trey Ruscoe
          Ash Johnson
          Josh Carmichael

And with no De Goey this week – so the job security of Johnson & Carmichael is probably not great 🙁 🙁

Maybe Cumberland this week (or Elijah Hollands or Culley next week) is the way to go for any downgrades if we need some cash?

          2

          0
        2. Yeah, Nato, I got that.
That is why I posted Collingwood’s apology for their error.

No worries and thanks for keeping the community updated.
          Cheers.

  6. Have Parnell and Khamis, thankfully Carton play Sunday so will have two cracks at a tolerable cover score.

    6

  7. Cripps worth hanging onto for one more week with Hewett out? Currently have him traded out to Mills…

    11

    0
      1. Alright well in that case, I’ve got 7 trades left. Hewett out for Sinclair? Got a league match-up I’d love to win…

        9

        0
    1. I’m not trading out Cripps, he’s likely to perform better with Pittonet back and not having to ruck part time

      3

      2
  8. Hewett out = OUCH!
With 5 trades left – replacement options-

TU – Doc (one trade only)
TD – Sinclair (two trades required, 2nd probably Cumberland to give me M/F cover).

    19

    8
  9. Bearing in mind that when Hewitt did a corkie in r6 and missed 2 weeks . Is it worth me going early on my Bont trade in, switching up my entire game plan for finals but I want to do it, leaving me with 3 trades
    Tu: go for it
TD: save trade ,take Parnell score

    15

    2
    1. Vossy if you are listening, please please please do not ruck Cripps against Preuss this week

Quite literally anything could happen with Preuss wandering around Marvel Stadium this Sunday 🙂

      18

  10. Oh geez looks like with Hewett out I can look forward to having Hough’s 20 odd points come into my team again …..

    5

    0
    1. I imagine they just wanted to reward the team from last week for finally getting the job done but I’m definitely hoping that he can be a late in or even medisub and might get a run to stop me copping a doughnut

      2

      0
      1. Hey Johnno

They could also possibly looking easing him back in as the Medi sub. I never want to hope for injuries, but I hope he gets a run for your sake.

        7

        0
        1. Yeah, reckon medi sub is super likely but I hate cheering for someone to get hurt. Hopefully he can get the run without anything serious

          6

          0
      1. Yeah GD.

Maybe even Battle, he has that handy D/F dpp and could be swung forward to cover or get in another defender at some stage.

        3

        0
  11. Thats a tough one Smurgs.

How many trades do you have ?

Is it just to cover this week and then be D7 ?

Theres no one really reliable at that price point. Getting a rookie and spending that cash on upgrading another underperforming Premo maybe a better play.

  12. Both my wife and my SC teams are burning in the dumpster and all I have left of this season to redeem my self-esteem is my Survivor comp.
4 teams left in my bag, and as you would expect, all heavy underdogs this week. HELP!
I’ve got Essendon, West Coast, WB and NM. Leaning Essendon. I don’t know why. Oh wise ones, guide me. 😉

  13. Tom Green :

“Tom’s form’s probably been on the decline.”

“I think that’s off the back of a big pre-season, young player, inside contested player, gets hit hard every week, can be tagged. He wins a lot of his own ball and we rely on him a lot in that area. Probably over the last month it’s just started to get to him a bit so I’ve chosen to freshen him up.

“He’s disappointed obviously but we’ve got to be smart in the way we approach this. I want energy towards the end of the season.”
