    TU: Ryan, Sharp & D’Ambrosio

  3. OUT: Coffield, Young, Sexton

Will take another look at Darcy and Brown this week before bringing them in and correcting Reid down back.

    TU: Sounds reasonable.
    TD: Start again.

  5. I need some help.

I was originally wanting to trade
    Option 1:
    Young > Sheezel
    Martin > Powell (via DPP)
    Coffield > Pink

However, if i go the below trades instead i can can get in Heeney who i missed out on last week due to lack of funds
    Option 2:
    Young > NWM
    Martin > Powell (via DPP)
    Sexton / Berry > Heeney

So my question is, it it worth going NWM over Sheezel to afford Heeney and also missing out on Pink before his price rise?

Or do i secure Sheezel and Pink and just cop missing out on Heeney and hope his moved back forward when Adams and Parker come back?

    Please vote on:
    TU – Option 1
    TD – Option 2

    Cheers in advance.

    1. To continue on from above .

If I go the Berry route I’ll likely just go Wines to touk, Dawson (BE 190 this week) or someone of that calibre next week.. probably not as lethal as butters this week but gets me a good cash cow in carroll or sharp and cash generation is key with no good midfield rookies on the horizon these two looks must haves.

On the other hand If I go wines to butters this week I get the rolls Royce in butters before he sails off into the sunset and is 700k and just deal with Berry and Bonner another day and pray more decent cows come…

    2. 380k sitting there is way to much. Boost it into something or, honestly, just do both.

      Wines -> Butters

      1. This is my 3rd trade option GD.

My first two trades for the week were:
        Gibcus – d’ambrosio
        N.Martin – powell

        2

        0
        1. Why not do Berry to Powell instead of Martin then? Use the cash and get another week to assess Martin

  8. Have done gibcus and young to massimo and powell already

For a boost trade this week

    Jordan to M Crouch/Steele + 75k/45k

  9. Would love coaches’ thoughts on my trade plans. I’m thinking:

Grundy, H Young and Sexton out
Sheezel, Mckercher, Powell in (via L Jackson DPP)

Like the idea of getting Jackson into the ruck with plenty of good fwd options (Sam Darcy next week) but don’t love missing out on Pink and bailing on Grundy and Sexton early. But this feels like my best option for getting on Powell and setting up for Sam Darcy or even a Reef Mcinnes next week.

Anyway would love some thumbs up, thumbs down or even better some comments! Thanks coaches

    1. Yeah. That’s tremendous, Harry.

Sheezel and Kerch are must haves and Powell is a move I’m also making.

      Good stuff.

      1. Most will be trading him in as need a rookie replacement if coaches like me have Gibcus, Z Reid & Coffield all injured, and not many other rookie defenders on the bubble (only Hore I think?).

        9

        0
      2. Good point I think. I can see Pink playing lock down this week with a 40s score. I am more inclined to pick Brown (Rich) next week (I think he has only played 1 game, FanFooty has the P plate on him but I think that’s to do with playing last year??).

        4

        2
        1. Does anyone know who is playing Gibcus’s role?? Is it possibly Brown? Or if anyone knows what Brown’s JS is like.

          0

          0
          1. Yeah, Brown now playing as a key defender with Gibcus and Young out. They originally went Young over Brown.

            0

            0
        2. Doubt Pink is capable of locking down on McKay or Curnow both are way too fast and mobile for Pink I’m tipping one of them to bag 10 but then Pink might luck out and become the seagull behind play

          1

          0
  10. In isolation is Grundy-Xerri wise? free’s up cash, negates Grundy Rd 5 bye.
    T/U good trade.
    T/D Waste of trade.
    Cheers.

    1. I’m doing it for the scharole to finance Powell but Kiwi’s point worries me. Just having West Coast alone gives me pause.

That said, Grundy is not going to be a keeper. Too much between him Tingles, RoMo, Maxxy and solo Jackson. You’ll want to finish the season with a combo of them.

I canned Xerri all PS. Gotta give him credit for tonning against GWS and Freo the first two weeks. Briggs and Jackson physical and work you and then *maddone* GWS and Freo are two strong ass engine rooms.

      Big decision.

      1

      0
      1. Really liked Xerri and had him at the start of last year, then he went down with injury. Had him penciled in with Grundy but when Grundy faltered in round 2, I got a bit gun-shy and went up to English. If only Grundy hadn’t smashed Gawn in round 0, I probably would have ended up with Gawn or English with Xerri.

      1. Very true, Windhager has previously tagged so this may be a risk.

But I watched Windhager play a very solid inside Mid role last Fri night, effectively replacing the injured B Crouch (now out for 6-8 weeks). So I’m tempted.

  14. OUT: Young, Gibcus, Sexton
    IN: Bramble, D’Ambrosio, Powell

First three trades of the year. This feels wrong but I’m kinda ok with it. If I’d known what I know now I might have started all three of the midpricers.
And Young was always a punt.

    T/U or T/D?

    9
  18. TU: H Young, N Martin, O Wines -> L Ryan, I Heeney, T Powell

TD: Coffield, Mannagh, Sexton -> Pink, Carrol, Powell

I’ve been sucked into all the midpricers and have too many problems to fix. Do I dump them for genuine guns now at the expense of some rookies or leave them as shorter stepping stones to premos and maximise cash gen?

    11

    1
  19. Advice please – after other trades have around $130 000 in bank – third trade

T/U use money to upgrade Sexton to Powell for onfield scoring potential ($3000 left) or

T/D do Sexton to Carrol via dpp (and have $180 000 left)?

    9

    1
    1. I don’t think it matters. You are going to want to get both. And they have the same bye (the best bye) so that is a non issue. So maybe get the one playing the weaker teams earlier.

      2

      0
  20. Out: Naicos, S.Berry, Grundy
In: Bramble, Serong, Powell (Jackson to R2)

Something I am toying with due to the extra trades.

Naicos is looking to drop significantly in price, named on the wing, but will probably just throw out a 150 to annoy me. Will look to get him back after his bye.
Berry may make some coin if he plays, but doesn’t have the role we were initially sold.
Grundy was always a cash cow stepping stone, but seems to have skittled that. If he stops giving away frees, maybe could be in the top 4 rucks and will likely destroy WC before the bye.

Bramble playing a very friendly SC role and set to rise 50K, but Mr Magnets scares me.
Serong is on fire and it may be now or pay $700K+ later, but has a tough run comming up.
Powell benefits from Simpkin easing back in to the game, so does it last or does Simpkin and Phillips returning eat in to this?

Definition of high risk and high reward! Let the thumbs fly!

  21. Was planning on bringing in Lyons all week but that plans not happening anymore. Young and S Berry to NWM and Powell is the go now but do I:

TU: Use the boost to trade Windsor to Windhager
TD: Use the boost to trade Short to Stewart

    Comment: Hold the boost

  22. Is Milera the best defender to get between 400and 500k (compared to say a McGovern, Clark etc)? Why? Is he just a better long term prospect?
    Any thoughts would be appreciated

    5

    0
    1. McGovern and Yeo both score well when on the park but I think on a thread here GD or someone mentioned they’ve only averaged 11 and 9 games a season each over the last few years so durability is a question. Clark has been able to put up these scores while he’s been at Freo but always puts up a couple of stinkers.

NWM has a lot of potential and a few people highlighted him as a breakout candidate so confirmation bias kicks in a little. He’s also just a very good kick of the ball which is always good in SuperCoach (although Hayden Young is meant to be a great kick). Also don’t underestimate that NWM hasn’t let anyone down yet so there’s no bad blood while most of the others in this price range have been on a couple of teams in the past years and not worked out for different reasons. Finally, he scored well even with Sinclair back in the side which was the major worry and why I didn’t start with him (traded him to short an hour before the first bounce in round 1 ).

One at the higher end of the $400-500k range that could be another pod is Harris Andrews. Always a good defender and mostly scores really well but as a KPD, will occasionally get a lockdown role and score like crap. If you can hold off a week, Sam Taylor’s also in this range and between rounds 16-20 last year averaged 118.6 I think but has the same issue as Andrews of bottom scores when he has to lock down on someone properly

Yeo and Gov you have to have started. Can’t be jumping on given their injury profiles and our high performance department imo.

  24. Trade NIC MARTIN or not?

IS MARTINS DPP IN 3 WEEKS WORTH THE HOLD? POTENTIAL DPP WITH DAICOS AND BONNER IF HE LASTS TIL THEN… Martin still has the role just hasn’t out it together yet

    TU: trade martin
    TD: trade wines

    3

    6
    1. I’d trade Wines. I mean, I’d actually trade BOTH but if you’re set on holding one, I’d hold Martin.

Idc what anyone says about his scores actually being good. Two 90s against West Coast and Richmond is a joke. Needed to be 120s.

Martin will push closer to a respectable D6 than Wines will to an M8.

      5

      6
    2. Would honestly prefer trading Bonner out over either of those two. They’re putting up respectable scores, I’m really concerned about Bonner now that Sinclair’s back

  27. Only made the single trade last week (Lazzaro to T.Berry) to gauge Massimo and co. The Coffield injury and Young’s horrendous form adds salt to the wound.

DEF: Daicos, Houston, Sheezel, Young, Gibcus, Howes (Reid, Coffield)

MID: Bont, Dawson, Butters, LDU, Serong, Roberts, McKercher, Sanders (Sharp, Clark, Mannagh)

    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Livingstone)

FWDS; Fisher, J.Jordon, Fyfe, Reid, Windsor, Wilson (Sexton, T.Berry)
    $58,100 ITB

Leaning towards Young, Coffield > NWM and Mass. But don’t know if I should use a boost.
Open to any other feedback or advice!

    1. Very solid JJ.
Not sure I can offer much advice I like your trades and that team looks great… are you not interested in Tom Powell?

You haven’t got many avenues to him but I’d probably boost to get fyfe to Powell but I am quiet aggressive in my approach so this may not be for you.. fyfe has already been subbed and has a tight back.. Powell is a fit young bull with the role to be a potential keeper..

    May affect Jack Carroll

    6

  31. I think I’m pretty well locked in on these trades unless Berry is dropped tonight or looks to get the vest then I’ll re-assess

    NMartin -> Powell
    Wines -> Butters
    Gibcus -> d’ambrosio

I’ve been playing 2 of Mckerch, roberts and Sanders on the bench and bleeding points. These trades allow a restructure and gets all 3 onfield going forward and 2 potential keepers in butters and Powell if he holds his role and CBAs going forward.

This is my worst start in 5+ years it was not the year for a MPM structure with all these best 18 rounds. I’ve bled too many points.

    5

  32. Trading Grundy, moving Jackson into the ruck and looking for a forward keeper.

    TU – Harry McKay
    TD – Powell

    0

    15
    1. Key forwards are rarely keepers but good to get on when they’re in a hot run of form, with a low break even and about to make tons of cash. McKay could be worth picking up purely for cash gen and short term points but you’d kinda have to bring him in knowing you’ll trade him out later so I’ve voted Powell just cause the inside mid role is way less volatile but I doubt he’d have the same upside that Harry will

  33. TU: Ryan, Serong, Darcy – $10k ITB

TD: Serong, Dambrosio, Powell – $200k ITB

Not really sure which way I want to go!
Chase the big scores, or chase the cash generation with money ITB?

    2

    13
  34. Which would you rather

TU : T Berry or Sexton to Powell with $152,300 ITB
    or
TD : Gibcus to Pink with $283,100 ITB

Worth knowing that I have all 3 of Gibcus, Coffield & Z Reid to deal with. The TD option deals with one of these. The TU option leaves them to be a problem to deal with another week, as not too keen on Pink, but worried about what other defender rookies we have coming through. Thinking the growth of Powell is more important?

    7

    4
  35. Trade 1 is Gibcus to D’ambrossio.

    Tossing up between

TU – ZReid or Coffield to Pink.
Pros – This will cove me some bench cover and some cash gen in the def
Cons – I have 6 on field this week and is something that can be fixed next week.

TD – Grundy to Powell via Jackson DPP, One of Lazzaro, Windsor or Sexton to Carrol or Dempsy
Pros – Correcting an underperforming rookie, Don’t think Grundy will be a keeper. Plan on running Tingles and Jackson in the Ruck
Cons – Sideways trading is a bad idea. Hold Grundy unitl his bye.

    * Pull the pin on Sexton early to allow for Powell to come in this week. Coffield to Darcy next week via DPP.

    Gawn, Grundy – Livingstone
Jackson, Flanders, Fisher, Jordon, Fyfe, Reid – Cadman, Sexton

Travelling okay I reckon but got minor headaches so i’m not too sure what to do.
Is Sexton a must trade? Not really feeling NWM and can’t get in both Clark and Powell. And basically no DPP.

Looking at trading Young + Sexton so far.

    t/u NWM + Dempsey
    t/d Jordan Clark + Dempsey
    comment Young + Sexton + Coffield > Houston + Dempsey + E.Phillips

  39. Only using 2 trades this week.
One is Young to Sheez, which of the below should be prioritised:

    TU: Newcome to Steele
    TD: Coffield/Reid to Pink

    14

    2
  40. T/U – Gibcus, Lazzaro & Grundy to Massimo, Powell & Xerri – $30k in the bank – focus on cash gen and give Young another chance

T/D – Gibcus, Young & Lazzaro/Sexton to Massimo, Houston & Carroll – $59k in the bank – keeps structure and focus on points on field

Leaning to A as I think Powell & Xerri have the potential to make serious coin whilst scoring well

    2
  41. Unfortunately tight for cash, effectively NWM vs. D’Ambrosio (+ cash)

    TU:
Coffield, Young, Newcomb > NWM, Pink, Serong

    Appreciate the input!

    2
  42. I am moving Young but still have Reid, Coffield, Gibcus to deal with. If I get Ryan then my D4-D6 is weak. I can strengthen D4 with D’Ambrosio but I can only afford NWM instead of Ryan.

TU: Daicos, Sheezel, NWM, D’Ambrosio, Williams, Howes (Coffield, Reid)
TD: Ryan, Daicos, Sheezel, Williams, Howes, Pink (Coffield, Reid)

    Thanks Coaches

  43. I’m pretty set on my first two trades:
    Young -> D’Ambrosio
    F. Macrae -> Powell

For my first boost of the year, I’m trying to get as many quality / cash-generating rookies as possible. So I have a two-part poll – first part is who to trade out:
    T/U: Mannagh (GEE)
    T/D: Clark (GEE)

    7

    3
    1. Second part is who to trade in. I’ve faded Carroll because the Blues have a few to return from injury, so I think he may be squeezed into a sub role. So that leaves:
      T/U: Sharp (FRE)
      T/D: Dempsey (GEE)

If you can think of a better option, let me know with a comment. Thanks coaches!

      5

      3
      1. Dempsey kicked 3 goals in his first game which I just don’t know how consistent that’ll be. I think Mannagh probably averages 50 from here while the other 3 go around 60-70 but I don’t know that we’ve quite seen enough to know which one will be which just yet. Maybe I’ve got the wrong read but I’d hold both

  48. ABORT TRADES!!
Sam Berry has been dropped so plan B is in motion..

Ill no longer be going N.Martin -> Butters
And now have to prioritise going Berry -> Rookie for cash generation and I’ll chase touk, steele Flanders or even Dawson next week.
So whose the go to rookie now. I worry about carrols JS with Holland’s named and Walsh back shortly.. but I don’t usually like wingers SP which is Sharpe’s role.

    TU: carroll
    TD: sharp

  49. Wines Vs N.Martin

Wines has had a very underwhelming start to his season but has that very easy fixture and run of home games ahead his low TOG is a concern..
Nic Martin also been very underwhelming even more so as he’s lacked the consistency putting out a 50 in Round 1 but has the role.
    I can’t decide 🙁

    Trade out:
    TU: NIC MARTIN
    TD: OLIVER WINES

  50. With Gibcus, Coffield & Reid in my backline, is it more important to replace at least one of them this week, or get in a Powell, Dempsey, Carroll etc before they increase in price?

TU : Deal with one of the rookie defenders and miss out on a rookie increasing in price (inc Powell)
TD : Get in a Powell or rookie increasing in price this week, & deal with rookie defenders next week

  52. Hmmm When you put it like that it does sound bad. But it gets me out of a bad midprice into a good cow? And 350k for potentially a double upgrade next week
    Hmm I don’t know now

    1. Well, there’s 11 votes and none of them think you should do it (there may be some overlap between the two posts, but the point remains).

I’m curious what you were expecting from Wines, considering he’s averaging 96 so far. If he spikes a 110-120 (or two), then you’ll be able to easily move him up to one of the elite mids coming off an early bye (with one rookie trade-down). I can’t think of a reason to trade him out now, unless you thought he’d be a keeper???

  55. I hate trading out players I had marked as keepers but considering Young to either Stewart or Ryan and Grundy to Powell. Jackson would become R2.
I don’t have the money to upgrade Young if I don’t trade Grundy.

    T/U yes do it

    T/D hold the faith

    1. I wouldn’t be trading out Grundy just yet way too early. Consider trading Young down to Bramble, a D/M ( BE -26 ) and then use the funds to upgrade elsewhere as needed.

  57. This week locking in:
    Young -> Ryan | Grundy -> Xerri | Wines -> Powell

Next week Flanders and Darcy in, week after boosting for Tom Green.

Let’s see if I cop any major curveballs in that time.

    1. Bit more worried about Walsh coming back in 2 games supposedly. There’s no reason Kemp should have been dropped for Marchbank this week (from a neutral’s perspective).

Can see Voss just dumping Carrol regardless when Walsh is back.
