  1. Cripps, Titch, Fyfe have gotta be on the radar for those who have built up a warchest. The big questions is which out of the 3 can you take. If you can take 2 of them more power to you!

    1. Its hard, you dont want to trade premos sidewards but hes probably gonna lose 60kish. Not sure what his breakeven will be but this decision probably depends on the rest of your team. Whats it looking like? Do you have any other big issues

      1. I scored half decent this week 1976, but my team has too many rookies to rely on for next week as I have Lloyd, Parker, Whitfield and Jelly out. Might have to keep him but jeez he needs to fire soon or I’m bleeding cash.

          1. Def: Lloyd, Stewart, Docherty, Hurn, Starcevich, McKay (Hamill, Rivers)

Mid: Neale, Macrae, Jelly, Parker, Shiel, Martin, Gaff, Simpson (Budarick, Close, Robertson)

            Ruc: Gawn, Grundy (Draper)

For: Petracca, Whitfield, Simpkin, B.Smith, Rankine, Georgiades (Aarts, Skinner)

            Currently ranked around 6k

    1. Off the top of my head, some to consider:
      – Woodcock
      – Hosie
      – Sholl
      – Schoenberg
      – Ruscoe
      – Wicks (bye next round)
      – Sharp
      – O’Halloran (bye next round)

Shaky on all of them, but Hosie and Sholl the picks for mine JS-wise.

Anyone else that I’ve missed – interested to hear everyone’s thoughts too as looking at a couple of downgrades this week.

      1. I’ll have to move Hamill on so likely Ruscoe, but I don’t see him having good js.

Part of me is wondering if it makes sense to go a $102k dpp def/mid for loopholes until another decent def rookie comes along.

    1. Why so many people going Fyfe? Surely he is going to play forward much now especially now with the condensed fixtures..

      10

      3
    2. Mitchell

      Had his Bye now.

      Totally under-priced for his potential @$568 800

Unless you somehow don’t have Cripps?

Titch is the Mid to get this week.

As a non owner I am interested in this outcome too.

I have a feeling “owners’ are T/D ‘ing as they are jealous others are picking him up cheap.

I think he is great value but… ( Why is there always a but ! )

        When is his Bye ?
Will it fall on the same week as other high owned % forwards like Dusty and B Smith ?

        Simpkin’s BE is now 81 .
He is projected to score 82 and increase only +$600.00
Even with a 100 this week v Melbourne he will still be just over $400k.

I’m going to wait a week as Pickett (M8) is likely to max out then. It could be as little as $40k to swap them before round 12.

        Best laid plans eh .

        Good luck in R11 🙂

    1. Depends on how the rest of your MID line is, and whether or not you already have too many “faux” premiums. I’m definitely keen on Shuey, but I expect him to end up somewhere around my M6-M7, whereas you’d probably be wanting Steele to be more of an M2-M4 (?).

  3. I am ranked inside the top 100 however i dropped a bit in rank last round due to having 5 premos out with the bye. This round I have 4 premos missing. My rooks are not making much cash and I am thinking about making an aggressive move.

TU: Trade Josh Kelly to Shuey and bank $136k which will help fund future upgrades and give an extra premo on field this round.

    TD: Bad idea

    5

    44
    1. Hi J. I think getting Shuey in is a great idea as if you take away his injury affected game his average is 110. and playing a lot of home games. But if you can avoid trading Kelly it would be a better option , unless you have enough trades to get him back in next round after his bye.

  4. Looking at just making some extra cash for next week. Thinking of waiting to find out if D Cameron is still out, in which case I’ll trade him out to H Schoenberg. If named I’ll trade C Budarick down to him.

Other plan is trade D Cameron down to B Woodcock who’s cheaper and I can make some cash off.

TU: wait and bring in Schoenberg later
    TD: B Woodcock

  6. Currently have 3 rookies (2 mid, 1 def) on field excluding byes so plan is currently to bring in Titch, Fyfe and then either Haynes or Zilliams over the next 2 weeks.
I don’t have Neale so wondering if I should move heaven and earth to bring him in this week but maybe miss out on a full premium team.
    TU: Stick with the plan
    TD: Bring in Neale

  8. TU: Docherty to Titch (field Ceglar), $300 remaining & 11 trades left.
TD: Ceglar & Starcevich to Titch and Wicks (field McPherson), $54k & 10 trades remaining.

Comment holds option 3: Keep both and look to upgrade in coming weeks.

Unable to reach Titch without selling keepers with current sacrifical cash cows nor those still growing 🙁

    0

    6
  9. TU: Pickett to Titch, $0.0k remaining.
TD: Ceglar to Titch (via DPPs), $39.7k.

Second trade with either option would be McInerney to Wicks (to facilitate the above). Would leave 10 trades remaining.

Pickett has a low BE and likely to rise in value, whereas Ceglar (BE of 100) is a borderline keeper (half of his scores have been very respectable, while the other half have been far from it).

Appreciate other suggestions in comments (including telling me to ditch those proposed trades altogether)

  10. Out of my current team 16 players won’t have played their bye by round 13. SuperCoach finals start round 14 (or is that 15?) and my entire forward line bar Lachie still haven’t play their bye. I’m expecting a Byeaggeddon, so does that place more value on those that have had their bye?

    TU Luke Ryan (had bye)
    TD Dusty (hasn’t)

  15. I’m unsure why no body is talking about the elephant in the room!!

    GAWN!!

Well those of us that have him….

I bought him in as an extra C two weeks ago for $780k, he’s thrown up an 80 and 109….

Now being reported crook shoulder so either needs resting or will play sore, playing sore for my mind means his 150’s are a thing of the past and when Melbourne lose 3 in a row which must be just around the corner surely Gawn will be rested and they’ll give Preuss enough of a sniff he’ll stay and not look elsewhere as the sharks must be circling him…

  18. Thoughts on

    Treloar —> Titch
    Pickett —> Cripps
    McInerney SYD —> Schoenberg

I miss Neale again but allows 2 up rather than one. Is Cripps worth getting this year?

    As always feedback appreciated

    1. Hey Hynsi.

I love The Titch , Cripps moves. Both not just likely to play every game on the stretch home, also almost sure things to go 115+ for the rest of the season.

I would be wary of Schoenberg’s JS.

The Crows have been moving players in and out like deck chairs on the Titanic.

McPherson was “rested” when everyone thought his JS was solid. Brodie smith was a late out but will return.
Sloane is only a game or two off.

I think you maybe better off looking somewhere else for a downgrade.

      2

      1. Hey FT I agree with the Schoenberg JS. I would get woodcock but he’s a fwd & I can’t get him through DPP.

  21. Only used 1 trade last week, so am happy to use all 3 this week. Have $165k in bank. Thinking:

    In – fyfe, Mitchell, Schoenberg

    Any glaring concerns there?

    Td: Adams, Will Walker, Schoenberg

Traded out players are Starc (Finally!!), Bud (Finally!!) and EGG (Finally!!)

    1. I would say Doedee, Lukosious or Hurn are more consistent options at the price point. None of these options will blow scores out of the water, but Doedee/Hurn have a high ceiling and likely to consistently score higher than Andrews

      3

      0
  25. Torn on Neale or Mitchell

T/U – Mitchell – 5th highest avg mid, no Bye to worry about. Saves $140k
    T/D – Neale – Is Lachie Neale

Going Mitchell will help me keep depth, but that isn’t as important if we go to best 18 scoring on the run home

    6

    1
  26. Who do I trade in

Thumbs up – Shuey (most games in WA and stronger midfield so less likely to be targeted)
Thumbs down – Cripps (ceiling probably higher but one out in a weak Carlton midfield)

    1. Regarding Sholl with Smith and McPherson to come back but Hamill to get ‘managed’ it will be between Sholl and whoever the late replacement for Smith was to retain their place in the side.
Regarding Rusco he has Treloar, Quaynor and quite possible Hoskin-Elliot going out. He is equally comfortable at either end of the ground.
I think Rusco has better short term JS (sorry for the oxymoron) but I am not taking either.

  32. Hi All,
I’m completely stumped this week as my cash cows are still making $ so I would love and appreciated some advice. I believe my DEF are set. If it helps last round brought in Skinner, Stewart for C.Taylor and Egg.

DEF: Sicily, Haynes, Daniel, Ridley, Stewart, Doc (McPherson, Mckay)

    1. Hey JJ, ideally I think you’d like to find a way to get Brayshaw and Bsmith forward to take some of those rookies off the field for starters (and to enable you to target some more premo Mids)

DPP swap Bud into fwd line for Close, trade Bud and Mahony (DPPing Smith and Brayshaw into fwd line)
I’m not sure money wise what that will give you, but I can imagine you’ll have enough to target a couple of mids (maybe Adams/Shuey)?

Feel free to report back once you’ve done that and see where you’re at. All the best

      1

      0
      1. Hey The Fos,
Yeah that would be ideal reducing the number of rookies on field and have done that change moving Smith and Brayshaw into the forward line. Looking in the trade centre when I put Mahony and Bud in plus the $82,900, I will have $576,800 to spend.

        1

        0
        1. Sounds great! If you’re convinced that we won’t see McPherson for another couple of weeks you could then additionally trade him and still have nice cover in McKay. Last trade:

McPherson -> cheap DEF (Ruscoe etc)

and then possibly wicks, schoenberg etc. and Titch, Adams, Shuey (my preferences for this week)

If that doesn’t work in terms of the rookies you’ll have on the field, just do a Bud for BSmith swap, McPherson for cheap DEF and a premo Mid

          Hope that helps

          1

          0
            1. I personally don’t think he will, but I could very easily be wrong. I don’t like the way Nicks is just rotating players in and out either. Brodie Smith comes back in, but who else? Sholl likely gets another week too. Ruscoe JS is okay. Someone above mentioned that Treloar is likely out, Quaynor is out and maybe Will H-S so take from that what you will.

If this helps, we have similar teams-ish. I’ve managed to squeeze out enough money to keep Starc and Bud, dpp swap Brayshaw to fwd’s and get Shuey.

I just don’t think these rookies are promising enough and I’m holding to lose a small amount on bud and starc if it means I don’t have to bring in schoenberg, watson, hosie etc

              1

              0
              1. Is it worth jumping on Wicks early?
Then I could go McPherson, Bud, Mahony to Scholl/Ruscoe, Wicks and Titch.

                1

                0
                1. Definitely not a bad idea, especially since its only top 18 scoring this week!

Good luck with whichever way you choose!

                  0
    2. Trade Mckay, Budarick and Aarts

Get Schoenberg and another first gamer rookie
      Then best available premium midfielder

  33. So here’s the rub..

My first 2 trades this week are ..

    Starc to Watson.

It’s hard trading out a player with such solid JS, more so when your not 100% the guy you have coming in will even play. Ugh. I guess we are all in a similar boat.

Second trade took some thinking but I’ve decided on..

    Ryder to Titch.

Ryder came in for Pitto @R2 , and has been pretty solid making $60k.
His Injury history and sharing the Ruck with Marshall .I fear he maybe on the way down. His B/E is now 150 and who nows when they will spring his Bye. I also now have Draper scoring more than other on field rookies. I just can’t justify keeping him (Ryder) around.

Titch is Titch and post Bye’s should be in the best 8 Mids.
I also see him as a possible V/C with his high ceiling.
    LOCK.

    I now have this Midfield..

Neale, Macrae, Oliver, J Kelly, Titch, Cripps,Yeo and Pickett*
    Bench. Buda, Hibberd, Rivers.

    * to Simpkin next week/ round / game . What day is it ?

    And this Forward line.

Petracca, Whitfield, Dusty, B Smith, D Smith, Rankine.
    Bench.. Sturt* Close.

So do I go Sturt to..

    T/U Woodcock.
Max $. looks like a wanna be Rankine. Shaky JS Ebert ?

    T/D Hosie.
More $$ Better JS . Will need Goals to score. eg make cash.

Thanks in advance and, sorry for the long post

Comment .. Save that 3rd trade you may need it.

        1. I’m looking like passing on Watson after all that.
          Starc stays another week.

I just can’t do it, not knowing for sure…

I’ve decided to wait , and go Walker /Hosie.
          Thanks Fo’s.

I think I’m still having a punt on Woodcock.
At least we know he’s playing , for now.
Sturt has limited value so I want to maximise it if possible.
Worst case he takes over the forward loophole spot and I pocket $90k.

Best case he kicks a few snags, holds his spot and makes some much needed cash.

Lets hope it’s the latter of the two.

          Best of luck people !

Treloar, Mahony, Hamill > Cripps, Shuey, Watson

I had the same trades, but going early on M. Eagles over Watson, not foreseeing any DEF downgrades within the next few rounds. After reviewing, I can position myself for McPherson>Eagles (if good), cash in/clear out K. Hayden, and move McKay to one of Z. Williams/T. Stewart/S. Collins.

This will hopefully let me bring in a mid-priced FWD without being forced to shed Serong, who is having a good cash/points flow and might have more time left. Now watch me cop two premo injuries and my plans crumble!

Off-topic, but Serong is going to be an absolute gun.

  39. Is it too late to bring in Serong as a money maker for 3 weeks before finals for the likes of a non playing Robertson? Or am I talking nonsense?

  40. Current team:

DEF – Laird, Stewart, Docherty, Hurn, Doedee, Starcevich (Ling, Rivers)
MID – Macrae, Treloar, J. Kelly, Whitfield, Bontempelli, Cripps, Pickett, Simpson (Budarick, Close, T. Brown)
    RUC – Grundy, Goldstein (Draper)
FWD – Petracca, Martin, Simpkin, D. Smith, Rankine, Aarts (Cameron, Skinner)

    $30.8k remaining

    Here’s a plan I had in mind

    Treloar > Mitchell
    Budarick > Schonberg/Ruscoe
    Rankine > Bailey Smith

Leaves me with about $6k remaining, not much in the cap but it get’s me an additional big gun in there.

Next week’s plan, if all goes well….
Simpson and Pickett should both rise in price by about $20-30k after Rd 11 from what I can see from their respective break-evens. If Wicks from Sydney stays in next week (which I hope so). I can trade Simpson to get him in, and that leaves me with about $200k remaining. Use that to upgrade Pickett to Fyfe if his price drops enough (I think his BE is 155???). If I can’t get Fyfe, I can always get someone like Adams, Duncan or Dumont who’ve all been in really good form lately. Could leave me with some spare cash too if it came that.

If you don’t think either plan is good, please comment on what you think I should be doing at this point. I’m fine with thumbs up/down and such, but if it’s mainly TD’s and there’s no comments/advice, it kinda leaves me at loss of what I should be doing instead.

  43. Say you are Rank 135th, and you want to make an aggressive trade, which is Gawn down to Goldy… is it smart?

Surely I gain points on those above me, and worst case hope that Gawn holds the niggle upon returning and he drops in price and swing with Goldy again if need be?

    Thoughts?
