They are my 2 ins this week too. They both could average 95-105 for the rest of the season and takes 2 rookies off the field. Netting your team average up 80+ a week. Just Heeney’s injury history is a concern. But, at his price it’s worth the risk.

Tell you what, I panicked so bad when Guthrie got injured XD But I’m happy he got back on and played it out.
A bit confused on what I should do here to be honest.
I have a few people who’ve peaked and are starting to lose money, like Scott and McNeil.
Jordon is pretty much there, but he’s more than capable of reaching is BE of 75 and he’s proven to be handy, so I can probably hold onto him for a little while longer.
I also have Jiath who is struggling to break past $400k and not doing well recently.
So I’m not sure whether I should only make one trade or both, because they’re running out fast with all the side trades I had to make for injured players throughout the season.
If I can spare one trade at least, I was considering doing the one downgrade to someone like Madden or Weightman, just so I can make up some spare cash.
What are your thoughts?
You’ve gotta back in your premos and midpricers through the byes. Could go Scott-Madden but you’re on the cusp of trade trouble going into the byes.

Pretty good bank but would like it to be larger for my shopping spree during the byes. Zorko, Stewart, Dale, Lyons, Bont, Steele, Heeney are all on my radar.
Scott is a definite out for me this week. Downgrade to Madden/Weightman gives me extra cash but going up to Heeney/Dale gives me one less rookie infield and less shopping dollars.

I’ve held Bolton who might be back this week so he’s effectively giving me an extra premo in this week only leaving 1 forward rookie on field. Because of this I’m leaning towards option 1 to turn Powell and Jordon into Oliver and Lyons or Bont. Leaving 3 on field rookies with Scott and Flynn both to downgrade at some point.

Thinking of trading Scott to Madden and Powell to Mitchell this week. I’m left with $564k when I get Madden in, and I really want Fyfe ($6k short) or Walsh ($9k short). I also don’t have any non-playing rookies which give me a VC loophole option. Do I:
T/up – get Mitchell in and get another playing rookie (Madden)
T/down – Bank more cash by getting in a non-playing rookie ($102k) so I can get in Fyfe or Walsh and also have a VC loophole option
Have you got any rookies worth more than Scott? You could trade out a Jordon or Warner instead if it gets you to the player you’d prefer. If you’re really close, Deven Robertson will get you an extra $8k. I definitely see the need to get rid of Scott but you want to be happy with your premos so it’s sometimes worth it if you can get someone you want by getting rid of a different rookie.
Cheers for the reply. I don’t have anyone else worth more than Scott besides Jordon and Powell of course. But I feel like I can still hold Jordon for a bit longer so I can eventually upgrade him.
I’m just a bit confused about the downgrade to Robertson you mentioned. By trading Jordon to Robertson, it only leaves me with $132k to upgrade Powell. Trading Scott to Madden gives me $213k to upgrade Powell. However, if I get a $102k non-playing rookie it gives me $235k to upgrade Powell and provides a Captaincy loophole option, which I currently don’t have.
Sorry, meant if you had Robertson you could downgrade him instead of Scott.
As for the Jordon one, definitely fair to hold onto him over Scott. I was more just saying that if you’ll upgrade him at some stage anyway, you could just pull the trigger now to get someone you like more than Mitchell. Your current plans are solid, I was just providing an alternative option.

T/U -heeney in for Powell – leaves 121k banked but lose some dpp mid/fwd options for byes and Bergman on bench (does that make any difference?) or
T/D – heeney in for Bergman – leaves only 48k but more flexibility with more dpp mid/fwd options still available through byes
Heeney will miss games, too risky for my liking.
What do we think of Darcy Parish as a top premo since his move back to the mid?
Looking at downgrading Warner this week to Weightman or Madden
T/U Taking Madden enables me to exchange Heppell at M7 to a C.Oliver or Lyons
T/D Taking Weightman (who can probably score better) gets me a cheaper premo (like Parish)

Have Kosi on the pine and thinking of trading to Z.Williams as he is cheap, am I jumping the gun? Or should wait for another downgrade to get Mills/Rich etc for my last DEF spot.
I would say to have a long look at Whitfield, I’ll be bringing him in next week or maybe after his byes at a bit more expensive price. Now that hes got match fitness in him, I cant see him averaging less than 100

It’s doing my head finding a mid premo to get this week. Been tossing and turning between Steele, Mitchell and Kelly and then also the onfield rookie headache between Weightman and Madden.
With the way Kelly has been doing in the past 3-4 weeks, he looks real solid in the mids and with the team finally winning I cant see him going back into the forward line unless something drastic happens. Opposite for Steele though, rough 3-4 weeks with saints playing local level footy but Steele still pumping 90’s and 100’s, if they do end up turning it around cant see his price getting any lower.
Pls help me find where to go so I can sleep in peace.

Guessing Titch or J. Kelly at R12 would work best? Out of them I’d lean towards Titch just on continuity of role and as a shield against his higher ownership.
I’m also confounded on Weightman v Madden. I’ll drum up a poll for it.

Port’s #1 CB attendee, nice ceiling and rotation cap has kept him above 80% TOG this year. His floor of 80 is a touch annoying, but can grab him at 536k and splurge elsewhere.

Potentially but with best 18, it’s not quite as urgent cause if he has a bad score it doesn’t impact things as much except for the press. Hawks and suns are all of a sudden better to have cause they’ll be playing through all bye rounds which could be a huge advantage. Just depends how much more he can drop or if he can bounce back and be a bit fresher after his bye

Have the identical predicament
Following early season injury carnage I have no option but to take risks and forecast premos/potential premos at the lower end fo their price cycle who I think can improve and finish the year strongly. Would love to pot out the cash for an Oliver or Macrae but just gonna have to work a bit harder given the situation I find myself in. I brought in Jelly at the bottom of his price cycle a few weeks ago and that’s working out ok – just need to repeat a few times
Any thoughts on these names.
Petracca – 525k – in brownlow /“best player in the game”discussions but not scoring as well as last year. Oliver outscoring him by 200+ [points over the last few weeks has to be an aberration or not?
L Hunter – 466k – seemed to be the dog squeezed out of the action when they had a full playing deck but now with Dunkley and Treloar down is this his time..?
Whitfield – gathering momentum in a similar way to last year after injury
Ridley – obvious one but slight concerns over the role of Redman impacting his scores. Seems to go better when the bombers get beaten – are they likely to fall away like other years..?
Any ideas of some forwards that may fit in the above category extremely welcome. I know about Heeney but I am staying away for the same reasons I stayed away from Marshall 2 weeks ago. Prefer to take risks on the form of genuine quality that on fitness concerns for now.

Do many people have plans to get Lachie Neale back into there team once he returns from injury? If he gets back to his best he could be an absolute steal at his current price. I know he’s still a couple weeks away but I’m surprised this isn’t a more spoken about topic.

As a luxury trade, I will be looking to change Taranto into a Neale later on (if i have trades left).
He does have a low breakeven but even if he comes back and scores a low ton and goes up in price a bit, i reckon it would still be worth it to see how he performs first.
Yep, one of the benefits of not racing to get full premo too early.
I’ve held him since his injury due to only really playing for SC finals + dealing with other issues in my team. I’m very confident that he’ll come back and be itching for kicks!

With the return of Covid screwing everyone up to best 18 scorers. I was looking to double upgrade but now I’ll just go 1half up and 1 down. Heeney and Weightman in. Then probably get Touk Miller in round 12 since I already have Mitchell.

Sort of. But the Hawthorn/GC game might still go ahead in Sydney. If it does I expect the round would score as normal.

I am unaware of any injury to Lachie Jones and as Johnno wrote Jones is selected to play Sunday.
They were just monitoring the ankle that sidelined him recently, it was his first game back last week. Need to stay vigilant post-syndesmosis injury.

Bit indecisive in what to do this week. Currently have $551.6k in bank. With rookies Weightman and Madden on the bubble. Is it a good week to double downgrade pre byes? as we may not have many chances to over the bye rounds. Weightman, I like and think can hold his spot. Madden, I have not watched much of and am sceptical on picking due to JS.
Should I go:
TU: Warner > Weightman, Scott > Walsh/Steele, get in a premo gun pre byes and still have around 400k in the bank for what’s to come over the next three weeks.
OR
TD: Hold Warner, Scott to Weightman (via DPP) and trade a DEAD
rookie such as Henry/Brockman/Macrae to Madden which would give me an extra warm body over the byes compared to a rookie that may not play again. (also keeping in mind, Madden also needs to hold his spot for this trade to be of benefit)

I’d probably do Scott and Warner out and either double down like Georgia suggests or maybe one to Heeney to help out that forward line and then downgrade to one of Weightman or Madden

To get to full premo you’ll have to do some downgrades, this is just getting a jump on downgrading cause there’s rookies available but also worth noting that full premo this year might require some pseudo premos like Heeney to pull it off
