    1. Probably not Ryan, Murray. FT made a strong case against him given Freo are leaving Perth, he scores like 40~ points less away from home or something ridiculous like that – I trust his read on that.

For me, I’m gonna look for a sub 500k~ value option to bank a little cash. Likely Williams, or maybe Cerra/Rampe if I want to get spicy.

        1. Oh, Ridley without a doubt.

Post-bye, plays that interceptor role and will have dipped in a price a bit after his first bad score of season last round.

    1. Hey, Jerome.

Fyfe an excellent pick, no doubt – but I’d be a little wary of Haynes. With Davis out he got forced into a more accountable lock down defender role v Swans. Probably gets stuck with one of Darling or Kennedy this week as well.

Maybe look elsewhere, best of luck.

      1. Thank you for that, I did see that Davis is a chance to play this week more for the long run happy to take the punt on Haynes as Lloyd is out of my reach and already have Ridley, Williams, Daniel, Stewart and Docherty

          1. only problem being gents that Giants play second last match of round and last match Sunday night – Hawks play 3rd match … so if you’re going Haynes, you have to take a leap of faith …

He has a high BE, will drop a truck load more cash … I’d be waiting another week on him if you have bench cover …

            5

            2
            1. I wouldn’t say Haynes was forced into a lockdown role last game against Sydney.

Think it was quite the opposite and Sydney enforced a lockdown role on him with Hayward playing the role very well.

So think the problems with Haynes is this kind of tactic may provide the blueprint for upcoming opponents.

              13

              6
      2. Is Fyfe an excellent pick? In two weeks he’ll cop De Boer, then Freo have 4, 5 and 5 day breaks. He’s not playing all of those. Steer clear!

        3

        4
  1. Stupidly didn’t realise Gawn wasn’t playing.
Is everyone thinking he will come back and be able to pull similar scores or have the majority ended up trading?
    Who would you take?

    TU: Nic Nat
    TD: Goldstein

    1. Think if you’ve held him this long and he is selected to play then he is definitely a hold. They’ve got the Bulldogs this week and with English under an injury cloud then big Max may reward your patience.

      3

      2
    1. Only one I can think of is Zac FOOT (SYD, FWD/MID, $123k). Scored a goal, should keep Taylor’s spot for a couple of weeks you’d think.

      12

      6
      1. Had him since start of the year as my final list filler… Almost left c loop on him!!!
Might be a nice little cash boost for the run home.

        2

  2. Gus Brayshaw…
Playing on ball last few games.

    Angus Brayshaw’s centre attendances
    R1-9: 10.4 (average)
    R10: 15 (91)
    R11: 19 (113)
    R12: 19 (131)

    Thoughts?

    1. This is one of those years where I think why not? 417K and went at 106 in 2018 with similar mid time, we arent going to have the luxury of 550k+ premiums with a completed side.

      2

      1
  3. Is it too early to start trading premiums to get ready for round 15 bye?

Potentially a week too soon but looking to trade Duncan, Bazlenka and Hunter Clark soon…

    4

    14
        1. Milo, The finals do start in Rd14, but because 6 teams have byes in Rd15, the SC organisers decided that Rd15 does not count in head to head SC finals. The points still matter for overall SC rankings and then head to head SC finals continue in Rd16-18.

          6

          2
        2. It does.

R14 First finals match Best 18 score.
R15 No Finals played. Best 18 score.
          R16 Semi Final . Best 18 score.

          R17/18 Prelim and Granny:

Back to “normal” with 22 scoring.

          2

          2
    1. Definitely a couple of weeks too soon on Bazlenka as let that 150 roll through his price cycle.

Aside from that it is never too early and would be a clever way of getting one up on everyone else.

      1

      6
      1. Jeez, I’m having enough trouble trying to get premiums into my team and coaches are already looking at trading them out? I must be doing something wrong….

        10

        2
    1. Fozza

Oliver probably the better long term option.

It could be tempting to go Danger.

He could go Huge this week v The Crows

      Bont scored 199

The way the Cats are playing at the mo, Danger could go 250

      6

      2
      1. FT, Cleary definitely a safer bet overall. Danger could also be rested fwd if the game is not in the balance as we saw few times this year. The Cats are serious flag contenders so Scott may decide to use his players smartly.

    1. Well Simpson and d Smith are your outs. You could move Close to F6 if he plays, and choose a premium mid and Zach Foote as another rookie. Loop him or Schoenburg, whoever plays first.

    2. This type of post, full team analysis, is generally time consuming for a meaningful response. It makes me reflect on what a great asset AllSaints was for us. He’d put the effort in & give you some great analysis & suggestions. All I can offer is:
      work on upgrading your M7&8;
swap Gawn for nicnat if he’s not going to play soon; &
Simpson will be due to go.
      Good luck.

        1. Yep Wighty.

I checked his side still ghosting along..

He chose some really successful mid priced POD’s
in A Brayshaw and J Short.
I think he would of done pretty well this year given the chance.

I still think of him all the time.
I try to answer questions in the same vein as the great man. Yet somehow always fall short. I guess I can only keep trying.

I know I speak for all when I say/ type, that he is greatly missed.

    3. Simpson and Sturt out for Foot and a debutant, hopefully from a bye team.
Sturt is done for the season sooo it’s a dead position anyone and you have trades to burn so grab the cash.
      Simpson 170
      Sturt out will net 70k
so you’ll have 300 in the bank
      9 trades left

      round 14 hold

      round 15
      trade 1
Upgrade Close in his bye round to a mid premo (M7) around 500l
      trade 2
chop fattest rookie that isn’t play
      7 trades left

      round 16
      trade 1
      chop schoenberg
      trade 2
chop draper if he isn’t named, otherwise keep him to cover for grundy, chop fattest other rookie
      trade 3
      upgrade noble
      4 trades left
      round 17
      trade 1
      chop draper
      trade 2
      upgrade M8
      2 trades left.

you might have to blow those two trades on sideways trades along the way for injuries.

I’d keep Smith to the end.

  5. Think I’m gonna take a risk in what’s been a serious backwards year for me:

Duncan (rd 15 bye) > Gus Brayshaw
    Georgiadas > Foot

(270k in bank to upgrade Sholl next week to a premo – leaving one rook on field)

    5

    13
    1. Duncan just about to play The CROWS!!!

Week in, week out, Midfielders have been putting up personal best scores. Bont went 199 last week..

You would be crazy to trade Duncan out now!

  6. In a bit of a pickle need to get rid of yeo and Sicily and thinking of getting luke parker. Anyone got an idea of a cheapish defender so I can have some money in the bank (already got crisp, lloyd, zwill, Ridley, doc

  7. Looking to at least maintain my best overall ranking while remaining competitive in leagues, trying to finish team upgrades and looking a bit towards best 18 ceilings.

    Sicily/Simpson to….

    T/U Haynes & Shiel/Gaff
T/D Mills & Greene (if fit)

Will still have one upgrade needed for next round

    20

    6
  8. Pretty simple for me this week I think.

    Sicily to Lloyd
    Aarts to Luke Parker

Any other mids in that price ~$530k range worth considering? Like Parker because no bye and only two poor scores for the year.

    19

    2
    1. Lloyd a must have, had his bye, probably wont get much cheaper, & can’t see him rested;
Parker has likewise had his bye, is fairly consistent scorer and is relatively cheap.
Sicily out & Aarts ready to go.
Great trades if you can do them Robbie.

      7

      2
  9. Well I think that rant I made last week gave me good luck this week XD
Smashed my previous season record by about 250 and got 2406 this round

    My current team
DEF – Laird, Ridley, Stewart, Docherty, Hurn, Starcevich (Rivers, Ling)
MID – Macrae, Kelly, Mitchell, Bontempelli, Whitfield, Cripps, Simpson, Schoenburg (Brown, Close, Wicks)
    RUC – Grundy, Goldstein (Draper)
FWD – Petracca, Martin, Greenwood, B. Smith, Simpkin, Aarts (Cameron, Skinner)

    9 trades and $6,4k remaining

Very limited to the players I can upgrade to in the midfield, due to my currently low cap. But I have a trade idea that could work out very well:

    Aarts > Foot
    Simpson > Gus Brayshaw

Brayshaw hasn’t been great for most of this year, but since Goodwin started playing him as an on ball player, his clearance numbers has skyrocketed. Considering Melbourne has been doing pretty well with whatever changes to their game they’ve made, I don’t think they’ll be taking Brayshaw away from that role. Plus, he has no byes and it give’s me about $55k to spare in the salary cap.

TU: Do it! His new role will work in his favour
TD: Don’t do it! Too much risk in his consistency

Feel free to give any other trade advice if you think there’s a better option I can go for

    15

    11
    1. I think you’d want to check his TOG over the past two weeks, which has been very low all year, and also Viney’s CBA last weekend. Viney can’t really play anywhere else, so if Viney is still getting CBAs as well, Gus should be OK.

Gus’ form over the past two weeks might just coincide with Viney missing, then being eased back in from concussion.

      6

  10. Hey guys, need a bit of advice. Currently have 12 premiums playing in round 15, with one defender premium needed with 8 trades. My current plan is to use 3 trades to sideways premiums in round 15. It playing for league and overall (1.1k).

Downgrading Viney would leave me with 6 trades, 100k in the bank and Draper and Woodcock as cash does to get a final M8 or F6.

TU – Viney to Reid (via DPP), McPherson to Lloyd
TD – Downgrade Draper, upgrade McPherson (450k max)

    7

    3
  11. pretty simple for me this week, haven’t caught up on mcpherson news but i think he can go

mcpherson > bytel via rivers dpp or zac foot, depending on teams
    sicily > lloyd

    1. Score inflated by goals which I don’t think is sustainable. As a Swans fan I’m not actually sure what his role is!

      4

      1
    2. Im tempted but his ball use is absolutely woeful, if he’s not hitting the scoreboard I have serious concerns that he’ll score 50.

  13. Need to deal with Sicily and McPherson

Tu: Sicily to Lloyd, McPhearson to any defender rookie (264k in bank approx.)

Td: Sicily to Daniel, McPhearson to Williams

    4

    23
    1. The TD pick is fine but the question is what would you use the cash for in the TU option? If you need an upgrade in another line and can get a non-bye bargain, I’d do that.

      1

      1
  14. Sicily > Lloyd
McPherson > Cottrell (if named on Friday).

    Leaves me with 71 k.

Still have the Devon Smith headache to contend with.

    3

    1
  15. Was hoping I’d have enough in the bank to get Sicily to Stewart/Williams/Saad and Rankine to Parker or Cripps but I’m $15k short.

Option 1. Sicily to one of Stewart/Williams/Saad and Aarts down to Foot
leaving $372k in the bank. Then I should have plenty of money to upgrade Rankine and maybe another rookie the following week.

Option 2. Aarts & Rankine to Fyfe and Foot. $30k in the bank and use bench to cover Sic until next week and concoct something more palatable than option 3 with 3 trades to work with. $30k in the bank.

Option 3. Sicily to Stewart, Aarts to Billings via DPP 8k in the bank.

I don’t think option 3 is really an option.

    2

    5
    1. Emile.

      I like option 2.

Sicily can’t loose money, and there’s a few defenders with high-ish BE’s ~$500K that should be cheaper next week.
      Haynes 151
      Ridley 113
      Mills 121

Best of luck whatever you decide.

      6

      1
      1. Cheers FT!

That’s what I was thinking. I have Haynes and Ridley already (also Laird, Docherty and Lloyd) but nearly all of the top 15 defenders (total points) outside of Ryan and McDonald have high enough BE’s that they “should” drop in price or increase only a little bit.

Either way I’ll be fielding two rookies just a question of whether it makes more sense to have Fyfe, Sholl and a mid rookie, or one of the above defenders, a mid rookie and Rankine.

Figured it’d be an interesting proposition for the other coaches with Sicily too.

        2

        0
        1. No problem Emile.

I’m unsure what to do with Rankine also. Half of me wants to keep him until his Bye, as he could put up a sneaky best 18 score in R14. The other half just wants to use his cash to upgrade a Rookie on field now!

With his game first up Friday night, I can either trade him
to Z Williams / Simpkin + $80K. This will “Finish” my D Or F depending which way I go.

The other Option is to keep him, upgrade McKay @F6.
Then I can pop the E on him ( Rankine) at F7 ,and hope he lights it up v The Blues. Close or Foot to cover.

At least I have a few more days to stew it over.

If you do end up keeping Rankine…

Try to loophope him if you have cover.

          Happy trading 😉

    1. McPherson-Saad
      Simpson-Foot (or other suitable rookie)

      Next week upgrade Serong

Depending on trades you then want to either work towards upgrading M8 and D6 or choose one to focus on and get Close into your mids so you can swing him to cover dpp gaps

      1

      2
    2. I’d be upgrading McPherson to Saad, switching Gawn to Nicnat (if he doesn’t play real soon), but your F6 needs upgrading badly & if cash is short you may have to compromise somewhere else.
… & keep very quiet about having 12 mids.

  21. Shame about Sicily as I only needed one more upgrade to finish off my def line.

Sicily > Lloyd (Current def inc. Daniel/Doch/Haynes/Short/McKay)

I’ve been waiting weeks for Lloyd to go down in price but I don’t see it happening any time soon.

Now with my second trade, if I trade Pickett I can dpp Starc and bring in Tom Stewert to finish off my backline, or anyone across the Mid/Def line sub 478k.

    T/U T.Stewert
    T/D Gaff
Comment: Hold Pickett another week so his price rises a little more

    11

    5
    1. I’m looking at the latter myself, depends on what you can do with that $350k next week. I have Rankine, so him plus $300k+ will equal just about any premium mid the following week.

      1

    TU – ZWilliams & Cottrell
    TD – Saad & O’Halloran/Bytel

Could go Stewart but don’t think his bye factor. These ins will complete my DEF.

    7

    3
  25. Only 9 trades left for me and 4 non-premos still on field. If I choose Parker, I can save a trade while still getting a premo in. If I choose Clarry, I’ll have to downgrade Darcy Cameron with a relatively low BE.

    TU: Oliver
TD: Parker (Plus almost 200k in the bank)

  26. Gawn and Sicily for Fyfe and Maynard via Cameron with the intention of getting Walters and a ruck to finish my team next week with 6 trades left. Finished also means holding DBJ and Andrew McGrath as D6 and M8

  27. Looking for a DEF and FWD premo to replace Sicily and Simpson using some DPP magic. Need to win this week to make finals in my cash league. Who does everyone think scores more this week? Opponent has BSmith and Simpkin so whoever I don’t get will be a POD.

Have to rely on BZT or rivers for D6, not enough cash to upgrade Mcpherson this week 🙁

Only $200k for upgrades next week, probably have to 1 up 1 down

  32. Thoughts on

    Simpson -> Fyfe

McPherson -> Cottrell who will remain as a bench option for rest of season as he will play all games IMO

This leaves my Def & Mids with one upgrade left (Lloyd & Neale). Ruck & Fwd done

MID: McRae, Oliver, Fyfe, Jelly, Titch, Bont, Cripps & Bytel (Wicks, Close & Robertson)

  33. Sicily > Lloyd
    Georgiades > Fyfe (via Whitfield)

Leaves me with $140k and 7 trades, 2 rookies on field

Should I take the uber premos or look for more value picks?

    6

    1
    1. Harv’s

I would be going the uber’s, After this next round we resort to Best 18 scoring for three rounds, including both R 14 and 16 Finals matches. Best 18 scoring means only one thing ” Bang for buck” you want as many big guns on field as possible.
With this in mind choosing Uber Premo’s over upgrading your team sooner, is a no Brainer really.

Hopefully a few more cows can fatten in that time. Draper ?

I would be trying to plan for a double upgrade R17 leading into Best 22 scoring.

      Nice to see ya back

      1. Really appreciate the feedback FT, seems that this will be the trade I go with (pending any other carnage). I’ve got a few cows to cash in on next week.

  34. Thoughts on:
    Sicily + Aarts to Z.Williams + A.Brayshaw (via dpp)

little risky but need to keep some cash for future upgrades

    6

    1
  35. No point following the crowd now. Just need non-bye players to score well for 5 weeks.

Sicily —> May (7 scores of 90 in last 8 weeks)
Simpson —> Parish (5R average is higher than Greewnood)

(Cash restraints mean I can’t get Saad, Hurley or Z Williams – and I already have Simpkin/Bazlenka)
Leaves Draper as the only rookie on field.

    6

    3
    1. Parish is a bit of a risky pickup, Stringer is 2-3 weeks away, while Heppell is apparently also progressing well which would both take away some of Parish’s cba. Parish’s 5 round average would’ve also been helped by no Shiel in one game, and no Smith in another, as well as Langford being forced to play more forward after laverde’s injury.

      1

      3
      1. All very valid points. Before trading, I only have 8 left and have Draper R2 (Cameron R3) so need to ensure I have enough trades to upgrade there before season’s end.

Essendon could be out of finals contention within next 3 weeks which would mean Stringer/Heppell may not be risked.
Don’t think I’ve seen a worse 25-touch performance than Shiel/Merrett on the weekend. Parish is far cleaner and a far better user, but who the fek knows what Worsfold will do.

        3

        1
        1. Dont worry about what woosha will do..he is just there for his good looks these days. Very good chance Heppell and Stringer will become 2021 recruits if dons lose next two…either way, parish going very nicely, nice price, good pod.

          4

          2
          1. Whitey I know u love ya bombers and Parish has nice bit of c** about him but his frame and engine are not there yet..
He will be in our supercoach teams in future years just not this year

  36. For those that traded Gawn to NicNat recently what’s the plan?

TU: Staying with NicNat and save a trade.
TD: Trade back to Gawn and pocket the aprox $100k from NictNat’s increase and Gawn’s drop.

    6

    11
    1. The plan two weeks ago when I pulled the trigger was to be able to have the options open to get Gawn back in at some stage.

Now the only way Gawn makes it back in my side is if NicNat is rested and Gawn has come back and shown he is back somewhere near his best.

  37. Dane Rampe just got ruled out for the rest of the year, does Thurlow come into play as an opton?

    TU: Thurlow & Fyfe +75k
    TD: Z.Williams & Parker

    15
    1. Depends on what you are playing for. TU is better for the byes and overall scoring, TD is an option if you are only playing for leagues.

      8

      1. Playing purely for league, no SC finals game r15 (Daniel & Danger) not really concerned about byes just who will score more!

        1. The official line from the team line-up was “managed’.

Think he comes back in this week although not sure he’d outscore my FWD bench of Cameron and Woodcock so not the worst result if he misses again.

          2

          1
    1. As an Essendon supporter, pretty certain he was dropped (understand it was listed as ‘management’). But should be back this week.

  39. Trying to work out the best option :

TU : trade out Sicily & Simpson for Nic Nac & Z Williams – leaving my backline without J Lloyd and not sure I’d be able to get him in, and with one onfield rookie in either Aarts/Georgiadis this week

TD: move Sicily to bench this week, trade out Simpson & one of Aarts/Georgiadis for NicNac and Cottrell – he would be my only onfield rookie this week. This gives me the money to be able to trade Sicily for J Lloyd next week.

I just can’t see Lloyd dropping in price so this could be my only chance to get him in. Is he a “must have” or do I look at Z Williams / Saad instead?

Thanks coaches, always appreciate the input and votes….

    3

    3
    1. Lloyd scores high so consistently you’re at a disadvantage not having him much like not having Neale in mids.

I’d be trying to get him in.

  40. I’ve gone Sicily to Lloyd. Now with Rampe out, will this impact Lloyd in any way? Thoughts appreciated.

    1. Will be interested in this reply if anyone has any thoughts, might mean I look at Lloyd next week instead of this week, to see the impact of no Rampe in the Swans lineup.

      2

      0
      1. I’ve been thinking about this too, as lots of ppl are looking at thurlow. If lloyd takes Rampe’s role, it might slow lloyds score but not below 100ppg and surely thurlow slots into Lloyd’s role and has a massive increase, so thurlow might be the high risk high reward player but lloyd is playing it safe.

        This is all speculation

        0

        1
        1. Lloyds strengths arent defending would be surprised if they did that, he’s also a miles better kick than Thurlow so they’d lose distribution out of the back half. Expect it’s Aliir,Gould, or Maibaum, Brand isn’t far away either they have options.

  41. What do you guys think?

TU : D. Smith,S. Simpson > N. Fyfe, Z. Foot (Worried that Fyfe might be managed due to his injuries)

    TD: D. Smith,S. Simpson > T.Adams, Z. Foot

    10

    1
    1. Looking at similar trades this week except Serong is making way and not D Smith.

When comparing Adams and Fyfe we know that Adams will definitely miss one game between now and the end of the season and has zero games at “home”. Where as we don’t know that Fyfe will miss a game and has two games at “home”.

This is what led me going to Fyfe.

    T/U: Sicily > Lloyd, field Close/Wicks
    T/D: Sic + Close > Hurn + Gus Brayshaw

  43. I need a defender thoughts,
    TU Ryan (Freo)
TD Zwilliams + save about $100K

  45. On Chillo’s fantastic advice, I saved money and traded in Big O instead of Nic Nat. Aarts didn’t score as well as I’ve would’ve liked so I’m moving him faster than predicted.

If I dpp swap McInerney forward to take Aarts spot (at F6), is it too late to bring Nic Nat in for ruck?

    Current trades:

Aarts -> Nic Nat (via BigO dpp)

Budarick -> Z Foot (becomes new F6, loopholded with Woodcock)

    Tu: yes

  46. After using rookie trade down with first trade, I have $404K to spend with upgrading Simpson to either a Mid or Fwd.
    Who will be better from:
    J.Selwood $375k Ave85 / Tom Papley $395.3K Ave84 / Marc Murphy $392K Ave78 ???
Comments PLEASE. I must win this week…sitting in 9+10th

    1

    2
    1. I wouldn’t bring in any of those players, you’ve got an awkward amount of money to spend i.e. not enough for any decent player worth keeping. May as well bring in a rookie as they are just as likely to score around the same mark as those players you’ve listed

  47. Getting rid of Serong (currently at D7) this week. Do I:

TU: Bring I Fyfe/Danger/Bont (I’m about 10k short of Macrae) via DPP switch

TD: Bring in Petracca and complete my FWD line

    5

    14

  48. I am resigned to being stuck with Houston at D6, D Smith at F6 & Viney at M8.
    Current team:

Sicily, Ridley, Daniel, Docherty, Houston, Starcevich (Sholl, B Williams {WC})

Macrae, Oliver, Mitchell, Fyfe, Cripps, Shuey, Viney, Bennell (Bytel, Schoenberg, Wicks)

    Gawn, Grundy (Cameron)

Petracca, Whitfield, Dusty, B Smith, Simpkin, D Smith (Cavarra, Skinner)

    11 trades remaining
    $183k itb

I need to decide whether to bring in uber premo Lloyd to replace Sicily or complete my defence with Z Williams & Stewart. The first option strengthens team for best 18 scores whilst the second option saves me a trade and assured of reaching full keeper, thus stronger best 22 score.

T/U Lloyd & Foot in for Sicily & Bennell (9 trades & $190k itb with 2 upgrades remaining)
T/D Z Williams & Stewart in for Sicily & Starcevich (9 trades $6k itb with 1 upgrade remaining)

    Thanks Coaches.

    1. Depends on what you are playing for. For eg, if your playing for league and aren’t in the top 4, there mighty not be a point in saving trades. Personally I think Lloyd is a must.

    1. I haven’t come to grips completely with dpp trading – can I trade devon Smith to nic nat via Tristan xerri who is in my r3?

    1. 1. Yes, when you trade out D smith you’ll see a little s next to xerri’s player card, will dpp swap him fwd

  52. Sorry for the big post all, I’m not sure what I need to do next! 3rd in my League, 1 win below 2nd and 1 win above 6th/7th.

Sincere thanks to anyone who can give me some direction.

    Bank: $350,400 | Trades: 19
    Team:
D: Houston, Lukosius, Docherty, Hurn, Rich, McPherson* (McKay^, Watson?)
M: Neale, Titch, Bont, Cripps, Viney, Shuey, Serong^, Simpson* (Hibberd?, E.Taylor*, Wicks)
    R: Grundy, Draper (D.Cameron)
F: Whitfield, Bailey Smith, Simpkin, Wingard, D.Smith, Aarts^ (Close?, Skinner?)

*McPherson & Simpson injured, E.Taylor suspended.
?Watson, Hibberd & Skinner bad JS, Close uncertain.
^Serong, McKay & Aarts look to be topped out.

    TU: Serong & McPherson > Parker & Z.Williams | $7,300 bank
Leaves me fielding Wicks/Close in MID, assuming they’re both named and no other fielded players dropped. Double-down next round.

    TD: Simpson & McPherson > Parker & DEF Rookie | $285,400 bank
Risk losing cash in Serong (vs Syd) and rely on a DEF Rookie debut. Hear Gould might actually get a run, but if not there are limited stocks and I’ll have to pay more. Or fully-downgrade to a $104k to maximise the bank.

Or comment if you have any suggestions.

        1. I think you’ve already figured it out. Simpson and McPherson have to go, you probably don’t have quite enough cash there to upgrade both unfortunately.
If Cottrell is selected this week (or Gould even), there’s your def rookie.

          4

          1. Thanks, Chillo.

What should I be aiming for regarding bench cover at this stage of the year? Is one per position enough, with limited cash gen left between now and Rd 18?

I have a lot of non-playing or uncertain rookies with little cash gen, but luckily plenty of trades, and I’m not sure what the balance is.

  54. Follow up question from my previous one. I’m trading out Sicily and upgrading Pickett.

    T/U Lloyd + T.Stewart (Means I have Starc and Schoenberg/Wicks as my m7/m8)

    or

T/D Titch + Ridley (Means I have McKay d6 and one of Schoenbery/Wicks/Close as m8).

With the extra trades Lloyd isn’t unreachable (by upgrading McKay) and with Rampe’s season ending injury I’d like to see Lloyd’s role to see if anything changes. Cheers

    6

    6
    1. Those voting for the first option, I’d like to hear your thoughts on bringing in Lloyd Stewert, which means I have two liabilites across my m7/m8 as opposed to bringing in Ridley(Stewert optional)/Tich and minimising the risk of a potential lower rookie score (e.g. Starcevich’s 11) at m7?

      For clarification

      W/Lloyd and Stewert

Def: LLOYD, Doch, Short, Haynes, STEWERT/Daniels (McKay/Gould)
      Mid: Neale/McRae/Cripps/Bont/Duncan/Adams/Starc/Schoenberg (Close/Wicks)

      W/Ridley or Stewert and Tich

      Def: RIDLEY(STEWERT)/Doch/Short/Haynes/Daniels/McKay (Starc/Gould)

  56. Hi all,
Sicily going down hurt my plans this week as does Simpson, even Aarts’ high BE, so I stumped. Last round’s trades were Gawn, Pickkett, Mckay (North) > Nic Nat, Zmerrett and O’halloran.

DEF: Sicily, Haynes, Ridley, Daniel, Stewart, Doc (Sholl, Rivers)
MID: Neale, Oliver, Mitchell, Bont, ZMerrett, Cripps, Simpson, Close (O’halloran, Wicks, Robertson (Lions))
    RUC: Grundy, Nic Nat (Cameron)
FWD: Petracca, Whitfield, Brayshaw (Freo), Dusty, Bailey Smith, Rankine (Aarts, Skinner)

    1. Nice team!

I think you’ve got a couple of options, depending on what you prefer.

Sicily and Simpson to go out and you can bring in Lloyd/Williams (if you want a DEF premo) and a MID rookie (maybe Foot). Or you could get a mid premo (Fyfe is looking great) and a DEF rookie (maybe Cottrell), but you’ll have to run Sholl at D6.

Fwd line looks good for you to upgrade Rankine or Aarts to Simpkin next week.

      4

    2. Hey JJ!

Pretty much what varusman said is ideal, id go zwilliams as much as lloyd is better – just can’t justify his price tag atm. in doing so, i’m hoping you’ll have enough to upgrade simpson? could potentially go angus brayshaw as he seems to be flavour of the month. otherwise rookie option would be foot i reckon. let me know how you go!

      0

      1
      1. Hi Fos,
I was thinking Foot and Lloyd, would still have $245,000 for next week to upgrade Aarts/Rankine for a FWD or MID Premo but well get to that next week.

If I went with Williams, i’d have $394,700

        How’s your team going?

        1

        0
        1. That’s great! Either way it sounds like you’ll have a couple of $$ to play with next week, some good options will be along the lines of Shuey/Shiel/McGrath/Tim Kelly/Parker for mids and Simpkin/Parish/Greenwood for fwds

          0

          1
        2. Chillo sucked me into getting Oscar McInerney in for Gawn just before the bounce on Saturday, very thankful for the 99!

DEF: Lloyd, Haynes, Ridley, Brodie Smith, Stewart, Doc (Sholl, Williams)
MID: Macrae, Oliver, Fyfe, Bont, Shuey, Cripps, Simpson, Duncan (Schoenberg, Close, Budarick)
          RUC: Grundy, McInerney (Draper)
FWD: Petracca, Whitfield, Brayshaw, Simpkin, Bailey Smith, Aarts (Woodcock, O’Connor)

          1
        3. Thinking of Dpp switch McInerney forward for Aarts, Budarick to Z Foot. Just need to decide on whether to bring in Goldstein or Nic Nat. This will also allow me to swap Andrew Brayshaw into the mids, allow woodcock and foot to generate cash and then swap him back forward for another mid premo, hopefully finishing off my side, fingers crossed!

          1

          1
          1. Depends how many trades you’ve got, I’m inclined to hold Buda now, he gets a game every week and DPP so good cover.

            0

            1
            1. I’m not as worried about trading budarick, still got close/Schoenberg on mid line and can always swap in one of my fwd, mid/fwd’s to cover if someone goes out, but its a great point. any other moves you could see then?

Got 8 trades left, but I only need 3 more to get my team in reasonable order, cheers!

  57. Was planning on trading Serong and Aarts this week to Fyfe and Simpkin, however I have Simpson, McPherson and Sicily in my team and injured. Sicily will have to go but who should I prioritize as the second trade?

    TU – Serong
    TD – Aarts

    1

    9
      1. Depends on your bench coverage and team composition. Serong could hit his BE against the Swans, but it’s worrying that he could be tagging again. Aarts could snag a few against the Dons.

Injuries before BE if you need coverage or have incomplete lines, otherwise go for cash.

        4

        0
        1. Serong was running with Adams & Danger in the 2 games before, I think he just had a bad game, only 2 tackles, only has 6 effective disposals of his 15 possessions, he can definitely bounce back.

  60. Hi guys,

Does anyone know if we can make up to 3 trades next week (round 14)? Two teams have the bye – so I’m hopeful we can. My trades this week depend on whether we get the additional trade or not.

    Cheers

    2

    1
    1. If you’re set on a sub 500k option, then I’d go McGrath – but if you can manage to put together another 100k~, then Fyfe, Titch or Parker are all much better post-bye options.

      4

      1
  61. Every chance that NicNac will be “rested” at some stage over the coming rounds, possibly even this week according to Adam Simpson on Ch 7. I was going to trade him in this week as traded out Gawn last week and made do with Draper/Cameron as R2/R3. Now I’m thinking I should just get Goldy instead – his R15 bye won’t be a finals round and I can cover with Draper.

TU: Trade in Nic Nac(as long as he is in this week) – Draper can cover a “managed” week, or Darcy Cameron if I’ve traded out Draper
TD: Trade in Goldy – Draper can cover R15 bye & if Draper isn’t named, I can trade out Draper and D Cameron can swing back to ruck.

    2

    9
    1. He has been reasonable and was pretty good the week before. Pies are out of form and the delivery is not good so objectively he should get another chance, but when a team keeps losing who knows? It doesn’t sound like Cox is banging the door down…

    TU
Boak – Leaves me with some $ in the bank for next week… Port have a good run. Have a bye tho

  67. Houston > Brayshaw this week.
Gives me great chance to boost OVRALL for the Rd 15 bye.

Next week looking at a defender or fwd I can grab under 470k (team that’s had a bye)

    Any suggestions?

    1. Hey Abs, a couple of options spring to mind,

Fwd: Parish (447k with a be of 58), James Bell (226k) seems to be doing well atm too, but I’m not sure about consistency

Def: Mills (currently 492k with a be of 121), Hurn and a couple of people seem sold on Thurlow (Syd)

Hopefully you’ve got a couple of Whitfield, Petracca and Brayshaw to tide you over for the bye rounds at least. Personally, I haven’t got Greenwood in yet (488k, 116 BE) so hoping he drops a little more to pick him up after his bye.

      1. Thanks Fos.
Have the names listed (bar Andy)
Really want Mills, glad to see his BE is high….. if I can fit him in he’s the go to.

  68. Have to replace Sicily and Yeo and would prefer players who have already had their bye.

    T/U Mills and Parker
    T/D Haynes and Shiel/Gaff

  69. Trading out Sicily and McPherson . Have 11 trades and $396k itb before doing anything. These trades will leave me with 2.5 upgrades (currently have Bytel at M8, Draper at R2 and D.Smith F6)

TU: Williams and Parker with about $200k for future upgrade
TD: Lloyd and Parker with about $50k left.

Pretty much is it better to have the extra cash in the bank to get a proper R2/Gawn back or is Lloyd a must have even with Rampe out now?

  70. Hey STC,

After this week’s trades I’ll still have two some what unreliable rookies on field (Schoenberg and Cameron)

so would it be better for me to trade

TU: S Simpson > L Parker to save money to make it easier to upgrade the rookies later

    TD: S Simpson> Fyfe/J Kelly

  71. Any freo supporters know much about Watson coming back. Would be a great thing for a good rookie defender with good scoring ability.

  72. Houston – you nob!
I am now using a valuable trade to replace that dumb ass .
My plans are out the window.

    1. Thanks for that Baz.

It’s exactly what I was thinking!

      So for a replacement..

      T/U Z. Williams.

      T/D J. Ridley.

      1. Dan Houston and Pete Ladhams both under investigation right now to see if they both breach protocol…. bloody hell Ladham is in the mix

        1

        1
          1. Hmmmmm…..Houston was going next week. Plan was Mcpherson to Zilliams or Doch this week, then Houston to seagull next week….fits other rookie tactics.
Can get Lloyd this week but a little concerned he doesn’t play till Sunday, and he finished the last game iced up. Port game time is awkward if I want Lloyd. So….

            T/U Doch or Zilliams
            T/D LLoyd will play

            1

            6
  73. Bit of a dilemma guys and need your help on who to bring in. 3k short on Fyfe.
TU- Parker with $50k in bank
TD- Shiel with 100k in bank

    1. Ended up going Parker in the end. He was my first thought. Thanks for confirming it for me guys. Appreciate it

  74. Hey everyone,

I’ve got Houston who I need to flick. My original thinking was Z. Williams but looking into future I think I’m going to struggle with cash generation and getting in uber premos. One option I was possibly thinking was Blakely this week. I know it’s very left field but 93 from 55% tog has me entertained. Furthermore he is an extra 100k less then Williams which will allow me in future weeks to help get Kelly instead of coniglio etc. Freo bye is also another strong reason I am considering this, plus Blakely I feel will be suited to top 18 scores.

    TU: Do it
TD: Crazy, get Williams more reliable

    1. If it can wait till after his bye next week, then yes. Presents excellent value and fine for D6.

      2

      1
      1. Always liked him SC aside. Great player. Hope the Lions win a flag while he’s still around.

        3

        1
        1. Would be getting him this week as I need to remedy Sicily/McPherson carange and it allows me to get in an uber premo midfielder.

Yes, he has the bye; but it’s the good bye. As it stands, I only have Neale missing in round 14 so should have well over 18 premos on the park.

          1

          0
  75. TU: Trade Gawn and Simpson out for Nic Nat and Sheil and keep Dan butler another week
    Or
TD: Trade Out butler and Simpson for Foot and Parker

    Cheers

  76. Looking to trade out serong

    Tu; settle for a m8 under 490k

Td; downgrade and save cash for next week
(Hoping I have enough for a double upgrade but not guaranteed)

    2

    2
    1. Shiel might be worth a look. I can’t remember exactly but he’s around that price.

Already had his bye and being hot and cold is well suited for the best 18 of the bye rounds

      0

  77. Sicily and simpson out

TU: Neale and Lloyd 60k bank

TD: Fyfe & Lloyd 200k bank

Still 3 premo away from full premo which is why I am tempted by the bank of going Fyfe.. 13 trades left after making he above

    6

    7
      1. The recovery between gsmes over the coming 3-4 rounds is so little and freo having had there bye already means even less than those with a bye. Will fyfe be able to handle it without being rested? Or play games up forward..

        Just food for thought 🙂

        1

        0
        1. Yeah James, i was thinking the same originally…….then i re-read,….. and the “13 trades left after this week” stood out a tad more……he can swap ’em every week!!!! LOL

  78. Hi everyone

First time I’ve posted, but thanks to all for the work here, love this site!

Stressing over getting georgiades out, my fwds a bit weak. Currently got whitfield, petracca, aarts, georgiades, m king (bench close, crocker)

    TUp bailey smith

    TD simpkin

Comment- open to suggestions? Got about 300k to play with

    1. Hi Bec! Other good options depending on your price point could be Andrew Brayshaw, Walters, Greenwood (currently sitting at a nice price) and Darcy Parish as a smoky pick. Hope it works out!

      1

      1
      1. Neale will miss next week ( first Finals match) w the Bye.

Macrae will miss R15…. No Finals matches will be played this round.

        2

        0
        1. Also next week will be easier to field a strong 18 whereas the week after with Macrae out will be tougher

    1. Just realised we only have two trades this week!
      My question now becomes: –
      T/U: Nic Reid
      T/D: Zac Williams

      0

      9
  79. I’m looking to get L Parker in which would complete my mids, but getting him in would mean I have no bench coverage in my DEF.

Simpson and McPherson are the definite outs, so

TU: Trade in Parker and Foot and have no DEF bench coverage

TD: Trade in ZWilliams and Foot and have Williamson (Carl) on bench

    3

    2
  80. Have an interesting Trade decision
I know Zac Williams will be popular this week having 3 100 scores last 3 weeks but is also injury prone
Contemplating Cerra . High ceiling but can also produce a low score .Definitely POD but with Fyfe and Walters back 1 week could have less mid time.

T/U Cerra Take a punt – no guts no glory
T/D Williams No Brainer, go with logic and the masses

    4

    5
    1. Same dilemma for me, P.

I was liking Cerra ahead of Williams, who is just so brittle, however:

      – Walters and Fyfe will be back in the middle after the scare Carlton gave Freo, forcing Cerra out even more
      – Freo are out of the Perth hub soon and their run gets tougher
      – his floor is dangerously lower than Williams’

      Still very conflicted.

      2

      1. Hey GB
Interesting as I traded B Smith out thinking less time in middle with Hunter and Dunkley back and he went bang
Other thing to take into account is only top 18 in 3 of next 4 rounds , so if Cerra goes big great but if not won’t count if you have cover .
Have Cottrell as Loop hole so if he pulls out a big score may not trade either to get his score .

        2

  81. How likely is it that Nic Nat gets rested on the run home? If he can at least get through the next 2-3 weeks I can just trade back to Gawn. Basing my trade decision partially around this..

    tu: Nic Nat and Foot

    td: Goldstein and Foot

either way I’m getting some nice feet action

    4

    7
    1. I’m having the same dilemma. If I knew he would play the next 2-3 weeks it’d be a much easier decision

      0

      0
      1. A lot of the top teams seem to going for Goldstein if that makes your decision easier (probably what I’ll end up doing)

        0

        0
  82. Upgrading Simpson. Big dilemma whether to gun for Fyfe (leaving no DEF bench cover) or go for a cheaper option like Cripps.

    TU –
    Out Simpson, DCameron
In Fyfe, Nic Reid (no Def bench cover)

    TD –
    Out Simpson, McPherson
    In Cripps, Cottrell/Gould

  83. My dilemma is points or cash,
ie, players to trade ; simpson, ladham, buderik, bzerk and georgie
Do ya reckon i focus on trading simpson and ladham with higher value for points or trade the others out and stop bleeding cash.

    TU points
    Td cash

    7

  84. Trading Scicily.
    Tu SAAD
    TD Thurlow.

Saad enables me to maybe get Sheil next week for Rankine
    Thurlow to get Parker.

    Thanks Tony

  85. Can trade in any mid I want this week besides Macrae. Want to trade in Steele but his break even is pretty high and will most likely go down. If I trade in Lyons it leaves me with $58k . Also have 11 trades after I do 2 this week. So was thinking out of these three:

T/up – Lyons (has his bye coming)

T/down – Taylor Adams (injury prone)

Comment: Fyfe (had him at the start of the season but had to trade)

    5

    5
  86. Sicily + Yeo for
TU – Ridley + T.Greene (VIA DPP) (Relying on trent rivers to play to avoid donut in backline while houston is suspended)

TD – Ridley + Zac Williams – no donuts

    1

    9
    1. wait for greene he has a breakeven of 96 because his 160 is still in that score after the next couple of weeks he should be cheaper

      3

      0
  87. Trading Sicily and Serong out for Greenwood and….

TU: Zac Williams (means fielding Aarts/Cameron at F6)
TD: Gaff (means fielding Sholl/Ling/Rivers at D6)

    12

    0
    1. Hey bAps! Left field, but I didn’t realise how cheap Touk Miller is this week if you’re not worried about the bye. Tim Kelly is also going to be nicely priced over the next couple of weeks if you can hold off. Boak for me, but can understand wanting Gaff for being post-bye

      1

      1
    1. Depends..do you have cover for one more week? We don’t know how he’ll be managed once he does come back and his price will more than likely drop for a couple of weeks (Be 240)

      0

      0
  88. T/U – MacPherson & Simpson to Cottrell & Foot.

T/D Sicily – Premium & only one of the above.

Any likely good rookies to play over the weekend?

    0

    3
  89. With Gawn missing out, it’s time to find a replacement seeing as Draper just isn’t quite covering well enough for my liking. I’m currently sitting top 1000 so looking to try edge my way up the rankings a bit plus make a bit of cash to finish of my midfield (the Sicily/Gawn trades are costing me an upgrade).

T/U – Nic Nat – Scoring well currently and will jump up in price. Bit worried I might have missed the boat on his big scores although he has some reasonably easy ruck competition the next few weeks

T/D – Scott Lycett – With Ladhams out for the next 3 weeks I can see his scoring going up to 115+ but I really don’t like his bye. May potentially be able to trade back to Gawn by then but that also limits any cash generation

    6

    -1
      1. My view on Nic Nat is yes, he maybe rested.

But after a 153 and at $566.800, with a BE of just 62.

He is likely to be over $600K in a week or two.

Basically with the extra trades.. If it’s finals week, you can trade him to almost ( Gawn?) any ruck you choose.

He has Sauce / Mummy this week who he should really put to the sword. I back him to go big again. Make hay while the sun shines.

Get on the Nic Nat Train!

PS I’m hoping “if”he gets rested, Its in R15 as it don’t mean sh#t.

          1. Thanks Fo’s

Well done responding to so many queries. You seem to have a solid grasp on this caper. I’m looking to go a bit left field this week..

I keep trying to find a defender to replace Houston.
Every turn I take seems to either brake the bank, or is questionable.

            Ridley is he right?

I like Zac. Will he hold up?
I also have a fair share of GWS players already, and they meet WC this week.

I looked at a cheaper option in Cerra.
I’m a little to risk averse for that one.

Then I thought… Why am I trading in Foot ?

            So…

            Houston to Will Gould. ( F6 for a week then Best18? )

Buda to Parker. ( Completes Mids. )

            Thoughts ?

            3

            0
            1. Sorry I’ll reply to you in this thread as well – I think Bud needs to go this week (because he will continue to bleed money) so if you can go Foot to him, I think that’s ideal. Hopefully he scores around 50ish and gives you roughly what Bud has anyway.

In terms of who to bring in for def, definitely Ridley (although I am biased). Young defender who can take an intercept mark with his eyes closed. Left field, but what about Mills? no rampe, scores decently almost every week. Definitely see where you’re coming from with Cerra, but I think the Freo team dynamic changes again this week (you’ll know about this then i do), but walters/cerra/fyfe/brayshaw/mundy/serong is a fairly strong midfield. hard to see where cerra fits in

              1. Thanks Fo’s

Foot come’s in tonight for Buda.

                I’m 95% on Ridley.

                Will decide for sure tomorrow.

                Enjoy the footy!

        1. My concerns, like everyone else I suppose FT, is the unknown rest game for Nic Nat.
It wouldn’t be such a problem/concern/worry to us at all, IF WE HAD THE RESTORED NORMAL TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT TIMES!!!!!!!……..oops sorry!

          3

          0
    1. Definitely Nic Nat out of those two and still got some nice scores in him. Going up against Sauce will do him nicely as well. What about Goldstein seeing as r15 bye is what it is…

      0

      0
      1. Does that possibly suggest the rest game for him then?

Maybe it’s Poll Time on what game we think it’ll be?????

        2

        0
        1. Nic Nat next 3

          R13 GWS / R14 RICH / R15 ESS */ DOGS

I just can’t see WC resting their best Ruck v Finals contenders.

In my mind if he’s getting a rest it’s v ESS.

          1

          1. I like your thinking there. Might also double check their breaks between games.
And I guess that even if he does get rested, it’s no different to someone else having a bye (besides not knowing when)

  90. Currently sitting 9+10th in my leagues .. so must win this week.
Have to upgrade Simpson M8 and can only generate enough cash with Rookie downgrade to spend max $426.4K on a Mid or FWD.
Please HELP with comment or other suggestion your pick from:
    A.Brayshaw (m)- $417.3K Ave82
    Jack Bowes (m)- $426.4K Ave90
    Marc Murphy (m)- $392K Ave81
    Tom Papley (fwd)- $395.3k Ave84
Already have Simpkin and had Ebert. I’m leaning to J Bowes but dont know enough of him.

    1. I think you have to go Brayshaw if that’s the case, then papley next if you think he can go huge this weekend. Good luck with whatever you decide and hopefully it’s enough for you to crack the 8 in your leagues. Gunboat Diplomacy’s article on Captain pick’s for this week might also help you decide on a POD for VC/C this week which might give you the edge!

      4

        1. Sorry CC, just saw Marc Murphy’s score…supercoach often works like this! Brayshaw could still go big, hope he does for your sake!

  91. Currently have Yeo + Sicily out and McPherson and Gould filling the defensive bench

TU: Sicily and McPherson > Williams and Cottrell(If Gould not named, as defensive cover)
TD: Sicily and Yeo > Williams and Parker(hold Mcpherson and hope Gould or another defender rookie gets a run sooner rather than later)

    1

  92. TU: Simpson and Butler > Parker and Foot
    Or
TD: Simpson and Butler > Sheil and Foot has plus more money for next week
