Tech Leagues Heat Up

Written by JimmyDee on August 17 2020

Came in from a day on the ocean and checked in for a score of 2288 and was happy as, seeing it was the highest since round one. Feeling a little smug, I checked all the scores and found out that I wasn’t even competitive this week copying a 60 point flogging from Daniels Riches tech team in SCCTL 2, but not a mauling from Richo’s Maulers in SCCTL 1 as I suspect the coach was sacked some weeks ago and has not been replaced. Still hanging in the eight on percentage but playing teams above me next week. (pray now as it seems to work for the Nuns ).

FD once again shows his incredible wisdom by predicting the Big Macca march, which is in full swing. Mrs Macca pulled out a whopper score of 2441 (am I allowed to use a Hungry’s pun)? to pull a further 70 odd points clear.

Those trying hard to bridge the gap are Ninius 2369; Tech Difficulties 2365; Technicoolz 2354; DR’s tech team 2348; Wobblers 2335 and Alza’s Assassins  2307 all topping my middling score this week. Well done you Guys

Given the Golden Arches has a lead of 651 over the Convent Football club, can there  be a bridging of the score over the next few rounds? Who’s starting to think of hanging in the eight to play finals footy? Anyone with any radical moves to shock the Tech world before R13?

  1. Thanks Jimmy – riding the ‘luck factor’ hugely so far!! And thanks for getting a quick article out again mate!!

Have to give you credit for an awesome starting Tech side! Tech side scoring unbelievably well!

Must admit, the 3 extra trades may come in handy!! Not too sure on trades or cash gen going forwards … need father and the sisters to say a few hail Mary’s!!

Maybe a good poll for tech side runners to see how many trades left, cash available and plans??

    Cheers

  2. Finally produced a decent score, now time to keep it up and break into the top 10.
Not the biggest fan of these extra trades as I was saving some of mine and that has become a setback/waste.

    1. Yeah I was happy either way – pretty happy with side and had enough to get to the end depending on injuries etc with only 1 spot to fill – will make it more interesting now – do you ‘upgrade’ another existing player to a greater “so called” premo (Dusty – sheesh!!) or stuck with the likes of Bailey, Weller etc who have been doing well enough??

        1. Nah all the byes are best 18 even with 2 teams. Round 15 with 6 teams on the bye is best 18 and no league match ups so a bye in finals essentially but your score will count in overall
Rd 13 – 9 games 22 players – final round of leagues season
          Rd 14 – 8 games 18 players – 1st week finals
          Rd 15 – 6 games 18 players – bye week in leagues
          Rd 16 – 8 games 18 players – 2nd week finals
          Rd 17 & 18 – 9 games 22 players – Prelim and GF

  3. Going to trade Hopper to Parker with my 1st trade. Should my 2nd trade be
TU – Z. Bailey to Saad
    TD – Wingard to Ladhams

  4. Personal opinion only Alza, but if you want to trade either Bailey or Chadster I reckon you get better value out of Ladhams who is capable of tonning up and can be a very useful swing with Cameron in your side. For me, the extra 20-30 points you MAY get from Saad is easily counteracted by being able to loop the two Ruck/Fwds with Close while he’s unavailable.

Zac Bailey has shown he can get to the ton at times so for what it’s worth, that’s what I’d do.

    1. On the other hand, as I play you this week , I’d urge you to look at some solid choices from the Crows, say Brad Crouch as he may come back early and star, or even Tex who is on the verge of a breakout. !!!

      1. Thanks JimmyDee, think I will be holding the Chad this week and wait for Walters or Dusty to drop in price.
I like your thinking I might bring in Chayce Jones and Jake Kelly this week think they’re due for a big one
