  1. Trades this week will most likely hinge on how you intend to play R14; go all out to field 18 or accept a few tactical donuts and play the long game. Will get a poll up on strategy, amount of trades, etc. up asap.

  2. I have $566k in the bank so it’s time to do some shopping.
Out – Poulter, Berry and Heeney.
In – Newcombe – doesn’t seem to rely on possessions to make a score. Should love Tassie.
Langford – improved pure midfield time with McGrath out.
Lyons – looking for consistency of games.
I considered Mitchell but frankly I just don’t rate him or Walsh who I think may tire a little in the second half of the season
I will look to get Pendles after his bye. The bugger would put up a monster score in his last match before the bye but I have been eyeing him of for a couple of weeks but his round 14 bye prevented me trading him in.

      • Bont will go bigger but probably the first Bulldog to be tagged.
Merret seems to wander around gaining stats like Mitchell but doesn’t seem to hurt the opposition as much. Doesn’t handle a tag well either.
I would go Bont if you have the $’s.
P.s. as captain of the club he seems to lift when his team needs him.

        • Doh!!
With Parish going so well Merrett does become more attractive but I sort of put him in the same category as Mitchell.
Bont is very expensive but agree he is an uber premo this year.

Just trying to stretch my $’s as far as possible as I currently have Reeves at R2 and Treacy R3 with CCJ in the forward line so may need to splash the cash on a more established R2.

The plan was to trade out Treacy but he has suddenly come to life during the byes.

Anyway, supercoach 2021 has been a constant example of choosing wrong options (even though they seem perfectly logical at the time).

  3. does heeney have to go.

I don’t like trading out premos before my team is complete, but to be honest, he isn’t putting up premo numbers.

he has his bye this week so it is a good time to trade him.

    • 2 weeks in a row Heeneys score has dropped out of my team score.
You just can’t have that from a supposed premo.
From memory Longmire said he is a week to week proposition so obviously playing injured IMHO.
I have dumped him this week

    • I’m waiting a week to turn him to Danger. Danger should lose another 30k this week and then be around 510K and Heeney won’t lost money I’ve this bye weekend.

I’m not too fussed about fielding 18 this week and had always planned on ditching Heeney at his bye.

    • Jones should be ripe to trade out next week so you can make a last defence upgrade.

This week I’d trade out Poulter, Berry and one of Waterman/McCreery to 1 or 2 fallen premos and 1 rookie. You should be able to get 2 premos between 500-550k and 1 rookie.

OR if you wanna get Jones to a premo next round then perhaps just bring in the 1 premo this week and do 2 downgrades.

You’re in a good spot though, good premos + $$ in the bank and cash cows close to maxing out. Assuming you’ve got trades up your sleeve you should end up with a solid team.

    • Yeah tempting. Was it the legendary As or FD that wrote that great article about reverting to averages ? In Parish case, he can be given some slack cause of his changed roles, but I wouldn’t be trading him in expecting his recent form to continue as is.

  7. Trades: 10
    69k ITB
    DEF
Laird, Lloyd, Whitfield, Short, Aliir, Jones (Madden, Walker (NM))
    MID
Bont, Satan, Macrae (WB), Steele, Guthrie, Walsh, Trac, Powell (McNeil, Bianco, Fyfe (GC))
    FWD
Hall, Ziebell, Heeney, Thilthorpe, CCJ, Poulter (Waterman, Henry)

As you can see I’m still screwed. Powell will probably go to Newcombe, Heeney to Langford/Zorko, Aliir to Stewart maybe. Don’t want to sideways trade 2 much before I’ve got a full premo team.
Great time to get Parish and Thilthorpe/Poulter have a bye but are coming off big scores.
    Also will Guthrie play?

    • Yep, can’t be ignored. Exactly right, Sloany.

Playing on a solid CBA load even before McGrath went down; behind Zerrett and Parish but ahead of McGrath. So Shiel coming back shouldn’t change their MID dynamic.

Finishes Top 6 (pretty much) from here on out imo.

  8. This year is no different than other years…things go wrong..players get injured..players throw up crazy 2 round averages and go back to 65 averages. The only exception this year was 1 game messing with our byes. And everyone is affected .
I’m a 10 year veteran of supercoach…daily user of this site..and regular top 1000 player.
Everyone just relax and don’t sideways..I can’t believe I read someone trading Oliver for a bye round!!! Most insane thing I’ve ever read.

  9. Need a bit of help with this one.

    TU Poulter -> Jelly
TD Poulter, Weightman -> Bont, Newcombe (if named)

90% of the time this would be a no brainer for me and i’d just get Jelly in, but I have a fair few suspect premos in my team that havent been doing too well (Ridley, Short, Brayshaw, Taranto, Impey). I reckon a Bont trade in would give me better C potential, and a slightly higher ceiling even though he might be a bit overs.
After this trade all I have left is to bring in Dangerfield next week or the week after and my team is done with 6 (or 7) trades left.

  10. Before trades, and assuming all my rookies are named (Waterman, Weightman, Jones, Newcombe, and Rosas), I’ll have 15 for Round 14. My original plan was to sideways Short to a premo on a different line after I brought in Whitfield as a 7th defender. Of course, Short tons up, Whitfield doesn’t and now a few $k’s short of doing the exact trades I’d planned.

T/U – The obvious move is Poulter, Byrnes and McCreery to Merrett, Jelly, and a DPP rookie/donut-like object that I haven’t had all season. Gets me to 17 for Round 14.

T/D – The other move is to do the above plus either Short or Zorko for a similarly priced premo. Which gets me to 18 but is maybe a waste of a trade, as I’m not getting an uber premo for either of them.

    • depends on how many trades you have left.

Short =Langford. money wise. if you have lots of trades left that seems like a good move and if it all goes badly you might be able to do a rookie upgrade for another premo mid/Fwd and make Langford M9

Maybe do a 4th trade. Cash out Brockman (Edwards? Wont help you with the bye but will with cash gen)

Leaves you 3 primo’s short but with 9 trades and good cash gen you should get there soon.

  18. Current premos in my midfield are Oliver, Macrae, Steele, Merrett, Mitchell, Duncan and Cripps. Want to get Lyons and Hall in but I’m unsure of which trades should be done. Thinking of going Berry to Newcombe and Murphy to a MID rookie via DPP (e.g. Luke Edwards – $117k). Then I’m going to trade Jordon and Poulter which leaves me with $1,130,200 to get in two premos.

If I trade Murphy to Edwards and get Hall, I have $599k to get a premo MID, which I’m thinking could be Walsh, which leaves me with $40k

If I trade Murphy to a $102k rookie like Bramble, then I can get Lyons instead which leaves me with $1.1k.

Should I get Walsh and hope Lyons drops in price and trade Cripps to him later if I get the chance? Will have 8 trades left after making these ones and still need to get two more premos to be full premo.

    T/up – Lyons

    T/down – Walsh

    • It’s a tough one, really depends on how cash gen is going and if there is enough to complete your team.

I would personally go Walsh because he is better value imo and could easily average 115-120 from now, and Edwards may let you do another luxury trade if needed later in the season.

      • Cheers for the reply! I currently have Jones and Highmore in DEF and one will be upgraded. In my MIDs I have Bianco and will bring in Newcombe who hopefully continues to play. Ruck I have Reeves who looks unlikely to come back now and up FWD I have McCreery, Coleman-Jones and Waterman, and one of them will be upgraded.

So I still have some players to make cash but I’m also feeling Walsh would be the better option at this stage. Playing GWS next so hoping De Boer doesn’t go to him!

With Heeney being made out of cotton wool & putting up 50’s plus on his bye thinking an upgrade to hall or Langford is a must do for me this week. Hall has been a gun & Langford has been great with more midfield time, will continue to score.

Riccardi just kicked 6 in the seconds and should come back in. Poulter has done his job for me in making $ and with his bye it’s time to go, so I can field a full 18 this week! I feel Rozee has the same consistency/risk as Heeney, just not sure who will score more for the rest of the year Hall or Langford?

      • I just tried replying but it was playing up, let’s see if this works:

You have about 4 upgrades to do and 11 trades left so you should look to trade out guys like Daniher and Poulter this round, as well as Weightman and/or Waterman either now or within the next 2 weeks (I suspect Waterman will get dropped this week if Wright is fit).

So if you go Daniher, Poulter, Waterman and/or Weightman out this week you should be able to get 2 premos and 1 or 2 rookies accordingly. That way you’re left with 2 upgrades to do with 7/8 trades left. You’ll have some short term pain because you’re trading out guys playing this week, but you’re better off in the long run.

          • You’ll have to trade out Murphy as well as Waterman, Daniher and Poulter possibly to get 2 premos in. No need to trade Weightman since he’s an onfield player.

If you trade out Murphy (so 4 trades this week) you can get 2 semi-premo players between 450-500k such as Langford, Dixon, Gray, Greene, J Cameron, Ellis, Parfitt, Simpkin. Out of those I’d suggest Greene and Ellis or Simpkin if the $$ allows it. Otherwise you could look at a Greene Langford combo or even Cripps if you think he’s turned it around.

However you could also do 2 or 3 downgrades and get 1 uber premo – you’d be able to afford any mid premo if I’ve done the right maths regardless of whether you trade Murphy or not this week.

            Hope that helps!

I think you need to keep Heeney and Aliir as you still have another 5 upgrades to make with only 10 trades you are not going to be able to complete your side if you trade the likes of these guys out.

One down one up x 5 = zero trades left (if you are lucky) before you even consider upgrading these guys IMO ! Good luck

  38. Any chance Clarko plays all 3 of Big boy, Ceglar and Reeves? Just optimistic based on last year where he played McEvoy as a tall defender so could he use him again as a permanent tall forward or back?

TU: No chance – a valuable trade used on Reeves last week has been burnt (for now)
TD: Yes there is still hope for this week..

  39. Thinking of the below:

Jordon, Poulter & Short to Neale, Newcombe & Langford. Will get me to 17. I can go Brockman to Reeves for 18 if named

    T/U – Good ideas
T/D – Hold Short. Play Laird @ M8 for now

  40. Currently have 13 playing this week and my cash league opponent has 16 so I am laying down my sword for the week and looking at the big picture.

Kozzie to Newcombe and Weightman to Parish still only gives me 13 this week, but gives me this side

Stewart, Laird, Whitfield, Ridley, Short, May (Jones, Sharp)
Oliver, Macrae, Steele, Parish, Walsh, Kelly, Brayshaw, Hunter (Newcombe, Holmes, Bianco)
    Gawn, Grundy (Reeves)
Ziebell, Martin, Sidebottom, Langford, Pepper-Powell, Poulter (Coleman-Jones, Treacy)
5 trades left, 1 upgrade to go
Keeping Poulter and Bianco gives me DPP overlappers (is that a word) with Jones, Newcombe and Coleman-Jones/Treacy. Hopefully Reeves plays very soon to make some cash for last upgrade.

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks guys !

    • I reckon it’s because it’s hard to split them – I brought in Touk last week and am looking at Lyons this week (I’m tempted to go Bont but the extra $ will be helpful for picking up some fallen premiums post-byes).

    • Depends on if you have 18 and if you have trades to burn.

If you have Both then just go to Stewart.

If you have neither Hold and fix it later

  43. Trading out Murphy what do you guys think? is Houston reliable as a defender to keep on?

N.Murphy,C.Poulter >D.Houston, L.Edwards(Contemplating to go on him early or not risk of losing his spot)

TU: Trade him in Edwards can hold his spot

TD: No save the trades not work Edwards security is weak main players are coming back.

  44. 11 Trades remaining, $54.7k ITB

Defence complete, need 1 Premo mid (eyeing off Duncan once he bottoms out)
    Current fwd line:
Zorko, Dale, Ziebell, Martin, Bolton, Weightman, CCJ & McCreery

I can’t get to Hall without using 3 trades so currently thinking McNeil & Poulter out, Langford & Newcombe in (and later will use Langfords DPP to swing forwards)
    TU: Bring in Langford now
TD: Wait until I can afford Hall (or potentially Danger)

  46. Hi All,
Last week my trades were Flynn > Reeves, RCD > Whitfield (Via DPP with Bianco) and Rowe > J.Kelly (via DDP with Poulter).

Haven’t got a clue this week so any trade advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    I have 13 trades left, $95,000 ITB
This is what my team looks currently, I will have 13 (14 if Reeves plays but doesn’t look likely)
DEF: Laird (BYE), Lloyd (BYE), Mills (BYE), Stewart, Whitfield, Short (BYE)(Kosi, L.Jones)
MID: Oliver (BYE), Macrae , Jelly , ZMerrett , Walsh , Titch , Jordon (BYE), Bianco (BYE) (Byrnes , Brockman, Downie)
    RUC: Gawn (BYE), Reeves (Grundy)
FWD: Ziebell, Martin (BYE), Impey , Poulter (BYE), Madden, Treacy (BYE)(Weightman, Waterman)
    Cheers!!

  47. I would think there is 5 in your midfield you could play with.
Wines plays this week. L. Stewart doesn’t but there isn’t too many other rookies about. Maybe you might have to take a gamble on a $102K rookie (hopefully named this week) to have one more upgrade this week who is playing. 13 trades isn’t too bad. 13 or 14 on the field this week means going backwards in a hurry.

      • 1 mil means you could do a combination of Langford, Greene, Hind, Tomahawk, Hall and Boak.

Otherwise you could save a trade and do Byrnes, Poulter and Jordon out for Newcombe, Houston (swing Laird to the mids) and then anyone up to 544 which would allow for any of the above.

          • I really like Boak and Houston this week and there’s something about having good players on a good team so if you were to do the 3 trades, that’s where I’d go.

Your forward line is a bit weak though so the 4 trades is intriguing and bringing in Langford and Hall could be a great fix for that.

            • Ooh actually, just realised you could do Langford and Greene in with the 3 trade option so maybe that’s the way to go to boost the forward line and save that fourth trade.

              • That would mean I’d have Langford in the MIDs this week then can trade for a MID (E.g. Weightmen, Waterman, etc) next week via Langford.

    TU: Caleb Daniel
    TD: Jordan Ridley

(leaning towards trading daniel just due to the bevo unstable role factor, whereas ridley atm is at least 80+)

  49. Moore and Waterman being out changed my initial plans.

    Out: Moore, Heeney, McCreery, Waterman

    In: Walsh, Whitfield, Newcombe, Briggs

Leaves me with $75k itb and 8 trades, only 3 rookies left onfield. Only concern is Briggs JS, is there any better downgrade options that’s a warm body this week?

    TU/TD appreciated!

  52. Next week I plan to make 1 downgrade (to Edwards if named) and 1 upgrade. My fear is that both Reeves and Luke Edwards are named meaning I would delay my much needed upgrade by a week.
Should I pull the trigger early on Edwards?

Ive heard people say thats when his role changed but his CBA attendances were pretty consistent prior to round 6 as well so any clarification would be great!

Can’t quite afford Poulter to Hall/Hawkins without doing 2 trades where the 2nd trade is a downgrade and I already have Newcombe & Madden. I don’t like
the job security of Briggs, and Bramble & Durham both on extended bench.

Thinking Rowe, Cerra, Bianco and potentially E Smith to Briggs, Danger, Ridley and Durham/Bramble (If they play) leaving me 88K in the bank.

I am just trying to get points this week.

  62. Hey everyone!

For most of the week, I’ve been pretty focused on getting Merrett into my final mid spot. However, I’ve started thinking about bringing Lyons in instead. I’ve got 2 more spots in my fwd line, and Merrett would see me with 114k in the bank. What do we think?

    TD: Lyons

    Thanks!
