  1. Too many trades to talk about lol, sure I’m not the only one.

Injuries to Ziebell, Dusty, Dunkley and Neale with the latter two requiring trade outs, nightmare at D6 bringing Jones to cover to Kos a few weeks ago to then have Jones injured and Kos ton and 5 dead rookies spread across my bench. I’m f*cked.

I’ll stick around to do admin duties and the captaincy articles, but I think that’s my season done lol.

  2. I like many others have 2 forced trades this week which are throwing my trade plans and upgrading plans out the window. Dunkley and Neale out for Marshall and Steele or Bont not sure yet. Just sad 🙁

  3. I have a suspicion that even with 2 trades this week I will still field a full team in round 7.
Can I bring one of my bye weeks forests and have 3 trades this week.
    Out
    Dunkley and Highmore
    In
    Treloar and Robertson

  4. Probably Dunkley to Steele & Guldin+ save cash to Walsh. I’ll pass on Finlay Macrae His scores have been underwhelming so far.

Rookie to cover Martin this coming week. Don’t have Neale. I have a solid Back 6 with Daniels at D6. Forward line is workable to cover Ziebell.

    • Premo mid.

Marshall has a cash drop coming and is only one round back from foot injury.

Dusty has a week off and then some big cash drops to come.

Don’t bring in falling premiums if you can improve other lines, even if it means putting players like Anthony Scott on the field in your forwards this week.

  5. Not trying to be a sook but SuperCoach really needs to get inventive in creating interest for regular players. A lot of people I know already quitting this year due to too many injuries etc…

One option I feel that could make a lot of difference is new dpp added. Would be great to swing Berry, Koz up forward to help out etc…

    • There are injuries every year it is part of footy and it always has been.
I find it amusing that that the same people who claim supercoach is more about skill than it is about luck are now claiming that their bad luck is the only reason that they are not doing well this year.

I haven’t been lucky this year my superior skill and knowledge enabled me to select players that aren’t walking injuries just waiting for a chance to happen and as a result I’m killing it.

If it’s not good luck that makes you win then its not bad luck that makes you lose.

  6. Dunkley to Marshall for me, I’ve already got Zorko, Ziebell, Impey and there’s no other options I can see who meet my ‘no key forwards rule’. The option might be Shai Bolton.

Gulden will become one of Oliver, Lyons or Walsh depending on price and where they’re at in the rise and fall of the price cycle.

    • Marshall’s pretty damn risky with that foot issue earlier this year – I think I’ll personally stay clear but I’m with you on minimal clear gun forward options.

Outside of trading into a premium mid for Dunkley, or Zorko, Toby Greene is in the other I’m considering even though I’m not a fan of his antics (always a risk of suspension too).

      • I agree with Marshall but I can’t see anyone else except for Bolton. I like Greene, but I don’t trust him to be a consistent scorer , he last averaged over 100 in 2014 and last played more than 20 games in 2016. I also don’t trust too many GWS players outside of Whitfield with the way they’re coached. The only premo forwards I really saw were Dunkley, Danger, Zorko, Marshall and maybe Martin (again that’d be breaking a personal rule).

I had money in the bank to upgrade Gulden this week anyway so if I swing Dunkley to the mids I can turn him and Gulden into two of Petracca, Oliver, Lyons, Walsh which will give me 15 premos leading into next round.

    • The answer is Gulden. I know Rowe was bad against the Hawks, but he goes back home to Adelaide now where he has put up his best scores.

OTOH Gulden’s form has dropped off a cliff since the first two rounds, and he faces the Cats this week. Gulden’s BE is 78, compared to Rowe’s 31.

BE also 73, unfortunately think it’s time to cull him.

  10. Injuries seem to be the key topic amongst most coaches but personally I’m absolutely sick of Cripps. Showing zero sign of being a keeper and losing cash fast, I feel anyone holding is just delaying the inevitable and losing a minimum 20 points each week compared to having an actual premo. Straight swap to Walsh for me

    • Normally 2-3 weeks on a premium, but maybe a bit more this year as injuries are burning through our trades.

Of course if you’re looking at 3 weeks of donuts, and they’ll come back to huge price drops, make the trade.

Dunkley may or may not be out a long time, depending on surgery. Plus he doesn’t have the huge price drop risk.

But if he doesn’t have surgery the risk of second injury is significantly higher.

    • Gee. That’s such a hard fix. You have two guys playing on your mid bench who can dpp swap with Dunkley and Dusty, and one who played on the forward bench.

Dusty is out for 12 days for concussion.

Hickey and Dunkley to Grundy and Impey or something similar. Sub Dusty off. Daniel and Short having down weeks doesn’t make them essential trades.

Phillips isn’t making 200 points a game, boo hoo.

Do your trades, then go leak your salty tears while you listen to My Chemical Romance or something, wouldya?

$122k in the bank , 22 trades left for round 7 , my team:

D: Stewart, Laird, Short, Jiath, Daniel, Kosi (Highmore, Jones)
M: Steele, Bont, Oliver, Merrett, Brayshaw, Mcgrath, Taranto, Powell (Gulden, Jordon, E Smith)
    R: Gawn, Flynn (Treacy)
F: Dunkley, Ziebell, Tex, Impey, Warner, Rowe (Scott, Mccreery)

TU : Dunkley and Gulden/Rowe for Zorko and Greene/Bolton – 75k/50k left (Warner becomes D6)

TD : Dunkley and Rowe for Grundy and rookie (thinking Thilthorpe, other suggestions?)- 136k left – field Scott and Thilthorpe

COMMENT – just go Dunkley to Grundy and save a trade – 106k left (field Rowe and Scott)

Other suggestions to continue improving my team?

    • Congrats on the rank Ninjas.

You have to go Grundy !

Have you considered Roberston. ( Bris) We missed his first price rise. He’s now $225 800.

He looked great for 97 on the weekend ( 6 tackles )

His other scores were a 83 and 35 when they were well beaten by the Doggies.

With Neale out for a while I think that can only help his JS.

Thilthorpe looked great but will need to score goals every week.

Rowe may go alright back at home this week anyway.

      Best of luck..

Agree on Rowe and yeah if I go with Grundy then Dev Robertson is a much better choice that Thilthorpe.

Am still undecided though – need to think thru my next moves after this round but Grundy certainly on the list of priorities to come into the side whether it be round 7 or soon after, and it’ll also come down to whether I think Grundy and Robertson can score more than Greene and Zorko (both will play more mid given Hogan is playing for GWS and Neale’s injury).

        Cheers

    MID
    J Macrae, J Steele, C Oliver, S Walsh, L Neale, L Sholl, T Powell, E Gulden (J Jordon, L McNeil, A Fyfe)
    RUC
    Grawndy (Flynn)
    FOR
    J Ziebell, Tex, Dusty, C Warner, A Scott, A Waterman (J Rowe, O Henry)

So, as you can see, I’m screwed. Also don’t ask about my D7 and D8. So there is some light in these injuries: I want Thilthorpe, Ridley, and Salem.
    So
Plan 1: Dusty -> Thilthorpe, Neale to Ridley via Scott and Chugg, (Jones off field) which leaves a donut in the forward if Henry and Waterman don’t play.

Plan 2: Dusty -> Thilthorpe, Neale on the bench and trade P Walker to T Duryea.

Plan 3: Neale -> Jy Farrar via dpp and P Walker -> Salem

    TU: Plan 1

    • Nothing confirmed on Ziebell, so it looks like he’ll play. Alec Waterman kicked 2.4 in the VFL so he could’ve had a big day out. I’d say it’s a 50-50 call on Waterman this week. It’s hard to go past Ridley at the moment and Salem is only 78K cheaper after his big game. Tipping Ridley to finish with an avg of around 115 and Salem to finish with an avg of just over a 100. Also, Dusty for Rowan Marshall, Sidebottom (my recommendation) or even Butters (a couple of weeks away) and Neale for Petracca is my advice.

      • Let me rephrase, (also might be better as a poll Q now that I think about it)
Who is the best value (long term points) player for 500k or less?
Their cash gen doesn’t matter as they would hopefully be a keeper, just need reliable points. Who I already have doesn’t matter as others may get some ideas for this as well.

Your priorities are replacing Dunkley and Neale and there are unlimited options.
Look for premiums who have fallen in price, suit your byes and are keepers.

Want to bring in Grundy as R2 and R3 are Flynn and Hunter

0$ in the bank so doing:

    Dunkley + Hunter = Grundy + 118,400

Anyone have any suggestions for a rookie mid or fwd to bring in for 118,400
Currently thinking Harry Sharp (don’t need them to play right away but future cash gen possibility would be nice)??

  54. Thoughts on trading in Darcy Parish?

    From the Herald Sun:

From Rounds 3-6 the No. 5 pick in the 2015 national draft is No. 1 in the league for clearances and No. 6 for disposals.

In Rounds 1 and 2 his split was 41 per cent forward, 59 per cent midfield.

From Rounds 3-6 it is 97 per cent midfield, three per cent forward.

He has attended the most centre bounces at the club in that time – an average of 21.8.

Cripps survives again – so desperate to get rid of him but he finds a way of getting everyone else injured!
Anyway, got 24 trades, 113K in the bank. Likely to be OK on the forward line (ie, no donuts, but not a good lineup!)
Would like Ridley but he has more to drop so Neale for:

After the Dunkley trade I have $36.9k and 23 trades.
Can get away without a donut this week but fwd line is very thin with Campbell F6 and Flynn, Treacy and Gulden the only currently active players on the bench.
    So…

    T/U – Brockman > Atu
    T/D – Campbell/Gulden > Robertson

The idea is to get the rookies off field as fast as you can – sideways trading premiums only delays this process. Dunkley is a priority and his trade in price gives you lots of options.
      Good luck.

  61. Gday guys! Not often I post here but come with a solid dilemma.

Currently ranked around about 270 and with Dunks injury it’s kind of opened up some weakness in my forward line I’ve been letting go for the last 6 rounds. Current line up is as follows:

Ridley, Lloyd, Stewart, Laird, Short, Chapman (Mansell, Highmore)

Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Merrett, Walsh, Powell, Gulden, Clark (Scott, McNeil, Brockman)

    Gawndy (Flynn)

Ziebell, Impey, Warner, Rowe, H.Jones, F.Macrae (Waterman, Comben)

Walsh come in for Dunks but the dilemma is this: is it worth using my second trade to get Jones to Brayshaw via Scott loop, or get him to DevRob so restart some cash gen in the forwards, and leave some cash to potentially get out Clark/Gulden/Chapman/Rowe next week. Apologies for the essay, cheers guys!

    Dunkley > Hawkins.
Sidebottom has Suns, north, swans, port.
Hawkins has swans, tigers, saints, suns.
Sidebottom has dpp and I could use him as bench cover for mid/fwd with Campbell.
I’m against key forwards too, however Hawkins plays up field a lot, has averaged high, cheaper 100k.

Is it worth going Dunkley>Robertson instead of Zorko and banking 415k for two double upgrades next week? Feel as though Robertson will get that inside mid role and Zorko isn’t going to skyrocket in price and can hold off a week on him
    TU: Go for it
    TD: Stick with Dunkley>Zorko

  64. Don’t you just love insomnia……

Need some advice guys. Here’s my team:

Def: Ridley, Lloyd, Mills, Bowes, Jiath, Koschitzke (Sharp, Highmore)
Mid: Merrett, Neale, Laird, Taranto, Green, Powell, Gulden, Jordan (Martin, McNeil, Saunders)
    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Flynn)
Fwd: Ziebell, Zorko, Impey, Warner, Rowe, Scott (Campbell, Waterman)

I’m going to hold Dusty, have already traded out Dunkley for Zorko. Currently using the Captaincy loophole on Neale at the moment assuming, that McNeil plays.
Where I am stuck is what to do with my remaining trade for this round. I know that Neale has to go, just not sure if it is this week. I could trade him for Macrae this week and be left with available cash of $84,800, or trade either Gulden (via DPP) or Campbell and bring in Bosenavulagi before his price rise leaving available cash of $235,000 or $308,700.

So after all that I’m thinking my question is; are the additional points that Macrae brings in this week a better option than the potential reduction in value of Gulden / Campbell and increase for Bosenavulagi?

    TU; Bring in Macrae
    TD; Bring in Bosenavulagi

    Appreciate any assistance and comments.

    • I know sometimes with a lack of cash we look to make some from players who might not be around long enough to make it. Bosen might be one of them and there is stack of them people are talking about and it is not one trade it is one to get them in and one to get them out. The sooner you rack up your keepers the better.

  65. Good morning SCT’ers, bloody freezing outside here.

This is my plan for the next two weeks, what do you think?
    Gulden, Campbell > Robertson, Farrar

    Next week –
Cox, Rowe > Fredrick, 580k mid leaning towards Mccluggage

Leaving me with a round 8 team of –
BACKS – Ridley, Stewart, ZWilliams, Daniel, CJ, Cummings(Fredrick,Kosi)
MIDS – Steel, Zerret, Laird, Gaff,McClugg, Powell, Jordon, Robertson(Berry,Scott, LOOP Sharp)
RUCK – 2 superstars and Flynn on bench
FWD – Ziebell, Impey, Sidebum, Phillips, Warner, Farrar(Mcreedy, LOOP Brockman)
Will leave me with 16 trades and some $$$ depending how much Clugg costs. 6-8 upgrades left should hopefully no injuries and everything will be sweet 😛 CJ and Cummings looking like keepers for now

    • Can’t see your current team but “no injuries” is a tad optimistic.
With 16 trades left though you will have quite a few “keepers” ( Zac, Daniel, CJ, Cummings, Luggage) who by end of year I would not think will be top six or eight on their line. With Jordon, Robertson, Phillips, Warner and Farrar still to deal with on top of what you have on the bench.

Duncan is also a great option and has a better bye if you prefer him. Can’t go wrong with either imo so go with your gut.

Wait for teams tonight, 1st option would be to get to Grundy. 2nd option would be to trade in Tilthorpe, either for Fullarton or into the forward line to swing with Fullarton. 3rd option would be Mummy (or Marshall), and last option just take the donut.
