Has Jai Newk ever got a Tag?…Day has a mighty wrap on him…deserved…but he has had the occassional tag…Will at 482000 and 88 BE…Jai at 489 and his very nice BE of 67 gives him the nod in a photo…both genuine footballers.
I can either get Dawson this week while he’s reasonably cheap and hold Roberts through the best of 18 when it won’t make a huge difference. Or I can get daicos and trade Roberts out for noble. If I wait I can finish my defense with nas or Sinclair or something.
Day will be fun own, especially Hawks last 7 games, but i can’t see him being near top 10 mids for the run home and he will have his TOG managed and he is always an injury risk.
Bolton is more likely to be near the top 6 forwards, but Fremantles run home is tough
derek
I just took a look at his figures and I will be having a great big look for this week with a 495 price…101% job Security…Average 101…last 3 at 104…very very good late fixture and a 61 BE…
THUMBS UP…
Good points on hardwick and run home. Sic seems to score alright with Barrass in this year, in theory it should free him up for more of intercept game.
I’m waiting for Sinclair or NAS as my last defender so probably better off with either of those. Feel like their BYE has been taking forever though.
With the number of midfielder to come back for Essendon do we think Durham is a good value pick? Thilthorpe is even cheaper averaged high 90s last year, looks to be over his niggle on the weekend, plus playing in a team thats starting to go well.
Alright, going to go daicos and get rid of Roberts early. I’ll save Houston as a post bye luxury, to get in Nas or Sinclair, once I see if there’s any more injuries. This should take me to full premo except flex, if the cash gen moves I’ll try to get Dawson or Jackson or someone cheap in flex.
To ‘finish’ my defence.
Tu: noble
TD: ash
near the end of the season you can always take a punt on a ‘key forward’ type that might pop with good match ups.
matchup don’t come any better than Geelong’s – i’m having a quite look at Jessa $387k and dangerfield $330k as a luxury forward as a F7 option
Other cheap options are Greene $408k, Curnow $407k, Thilthorpe $348k. even McKertcher is worth keeping an eye on at $348k if he gets the half-back role
there is no correct answer for F6. at this stage i’m getting Rankine as my last forward, but i might as well keep Lombard there, the way everyone is scoring
Will certainly do Retschko > Podhajski but undecided on what else to do as next week I have quite a few players out with the bye and players I’m wanting to trade in have a bye next week.
Hey Derek, once I do Retschko > Pod I have 228k ITB and if I do another downgrade can certainly afford a Heeney/Smith. My plan was to get Smith after Geelongs bye next week but unsure if that’s the best way to go about it
You will have to wait two more weeks for Smith, need about $590k in two weeks.
who else do you want? If its Heeney that will need to wait until next week. same with some of the cheaper options like Neale & Merrett will need to wait until next week.
if there is a plyer like JDU, Anderson, Rowell, you can get them this week using your cash and trade either Murdock or Tsatas.
Hamesy,
I would trade out Retschko, Cummings & Murdoch, and bring in one of Dawson, Oliver, Anderson, LDU, and two of Herbert, Fitzgerald, Annand, Podhajski. All those premos play 15 and 16. Depends how many dollars you want to bank for the next upgrade, and which $99k work for your byes and their job security.
You have alot of non playing rookies.
Kondo – Fitzerald (moving Hall Kaham to DEF)
Retschko to a PREMO MID
Murdock to Pods (only cause you need a playing rookie but would hold off to upgrade to pickett after bye)
Trades this week will be whoever is not playing,18 possible players at the moment wait until teams are named. Chasing the $99K players for one down one up trades.
Need one forward to give the forward line some sort of respectable look.
T/U Bolton

Problem with Freo is there’s too many pigs at the trough… Serong, Reid, Bradshaw, Young, Erasmus… all been getting mid time- and can have a down week or two.

Already trading Retschko & Murdock to bring in Pickett & Podhajski this week. Trying to work out if a third trade is worth doing to “finish” the team
TU: Finish the team this week with 1 trade to Daniels but have a fwd at M8
TD: Wait and bring in a proper mid next week to finish the team with more trades
I’d definitely be trading into a stronger team this week. Even if just playing for league, you want to beat your opponents and that’s a lot of trades to be siting on while the team still needs so much work
still 2 bye rounds to go and if you use some of those trades and boosts the right way you can easily move up 20,000 places, I moved up 21,000 in past two weeks and with no prems missing this week and swapping Anderson for Daicos and then next week only 2 prems missing and adding Gulden & Heeney I’ll probably move up another 20-30,000 before round 17. Downside is I was ranked 62,000+ before the byes and I only have 6 trades left 🙂
Tu: Dawson, Xerri, Podhajski
Td: J Daicos, C Serong, Rachele or Thilthorpe
Tu: gives me 22 stronger premos and a rook to loop with 3 trades left. Td gets me to 23 with same level of trades but bringing in some speculative premos
Once you have the 3 rucks, that limits trading through the flex anyway and trading through other dpps works fine anyway. Jackson is absolutely worth jumping on
How about Joe Richards this week? His CBA’s have spiked the last couple of weeks and seems to have a pretty decent role. Still under 400k with a 14 be this week.

Rookie option to trade in- Herbert has a bye but more likely to hold spot than Murray

If I replace Roberts early and go daicos, I’ll also probably have to go noble or something, which makes me feel less safe than Nas.

hawks run home is insane so it’s a toss up between day or newcombe
T/U Go with Newcombe as he’s mostly reliable and durable
T/D Go with day as it will be a fun watch but injury and tog risk
if you like some fun, how about Sicily in your team?
last 5 games have been 110, 114, 72 (low of the year), 127 & 113
Hawks run home is crazy good, i’m bias, but i can’t see them losing again this year 😉
TU – Bolton
TD – Newcombe
Roberts out
TU: Ash
TD: save some coin for other upgrades and get Parker
Comment anyone else. Don’t want to spend more than Ash’s price
Sicily? average 107 last 5 and 101 for the season
I like the Sicily pick but he’s not enough cheaper than Ash/Whitfield to justify taking over them
6% owned is the attraction.
Is Sic still a risk of being swung forward or is that no longer in hawks toolkit?
Hawks only swing defenders forward when they need to, and the run home is very friendly.
Also Hardwick has showed excellent form as the swing forward guy this year, so Sicily should remain in defence.
Bigger question is what is the impact of getting Barrass back in defence, Sicily has scored very well of recent with Barrass missing.
Good points on hardwick and run home. Sic seems to score alright with Barrass in this year, in theory it should free him up for more of intercept game.
I’m waiting for Sinclair or NAS as my last defender so probably better off with either of those. Feel like their BYE has been taking forever though.
Irrespective of price/breakeven/bye, who would you rather have in your final team?
TU – Dawson
TD – Baz
Both if possible
TU:
Lombard – Bolton
Jones – Fitzgerald
TD:
Lombard – Xerri
Jones – Podhajski
Steene – MSD
TU finishes my team and plays Herbert or Fitzy in Flex with 6 trades remaining.
8 trades left. Thank you!
Whats the better combination (assuming Serong is back):
TU: Parker (or another sub 490K def), Dawson
TD: NWM, Serong
TU: Bolton
TD: Thilthorpe
TU – Dawson + Jagga + extra trade
TD – Ash + Horny one
Just to clarify, extra trade means I’ll have extra trade remaining after getting dawson
TU: Anderson
TD: Dawson
Can I ask why so many people are jumping on Xerri this week?
Yeah I get he scored big on the weekend, but the red flags are still very much present.
Only 70% TOG and only 6 CBA’s.
Surely that kind of scoring isn’t sustainable long term? Am I missing something? Thoughts appreciated!
its to do with his next 3 games against Richmond, Essendon and Port (even Collingwood after that) are nice match ups for him
at $554k, good value
Question is, him or Jackson?
I’m with you. Reckon we need 1 more week of a decent score before jumping on. He did just score a 40 in a full game a week ago
He’s managing a sore groin . So can only assume his scoring is going to fluctuate depending upon how it feels on the day.
With the number of midfielder to come back for Essendon do we think Durham is a good value pick? Thilthorpe is even cheaper averaged high 90s last year, looks to be over his niggle on the weekend, plus playing in a team thats starting to go well.
Forward value pick:
TU: Durham
TD: Thilthorpe
Alright, going to go daicos and get rid of Roberts early. I’ll save Houston as a post bye luxury, to get in Nas or Sinclair, once I see if there’s any more injuries. This should take me to full premo except flex, if the cash gen moves I’ll try to get Dawson or Jackson or someone cheap in flex.

Any decent downgrade targets for Retschko?
If you can ride his bye next week, Joel Fitzgerald was talked up as the biggest ball magnet of the mid season draft and he had 26 touches
Looked the goods and was comfortable at this level. Think he’s an excellent chance of holding his spot all the way.
Who to picking finish off my forward line, thanks
TU – J Treacy
TD – S Bolton + 75K
I’m liking the Treacy POD
You are paying top dollar for Treacy at $531k
near the end of the season you can always take a punt on a ‘key forward’ type that might pop with good match ups.
matchup don’t come any better than Geelong’s – i’m having a quite look at Jessa $387k and dangerfield $330k as a luxury forward as a F7 option

Jezza’s battling nerve pain in his arm, not sure he’s an option. Crows starting to look good, Thilthorpe not a bad shout
I also wonder if Cooper Harvey comes into calculations, Was popular pre season, could be an F7 option
there is no correct answer for F6. at this stage i’m getting Rankine as my last forward, but i might as well keep Lombard there, the way everyone is scoring
JDG averaging 101 since he was concussed and missed a week. Also playing through the midfield.
feels dirty
Would love some advice on my team. 13 trades & 1 boost left
DEF: Sinclair, Holmes, Ash, Wilkie, Clark, Daicos (Edwards, Derkson)
MID: Butters, Bont, Merrett, Richards, Daicos, Callaghan, Cumming, Tsatas (Murdock, Ison, Retschko)
RUC: Grundy, Jackson (ZZ)
FWD: Sheezel, Petracca, JHF, Bailey, Pickett, Lombard (Edwards, Banfield)
FLX: Hall-Kahan
Will certainly do Retschko > Podhajski but undecided on what else to do as next week I have quite a few players out with the bye and players I’m wanting to trade in have a bye next week.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
what two premium midfielders do you want?
trades will revolve around them. Can you afford a Heeney/Smith or will you need to do a Rowell/Neale price?
will also depend on when their bye is or if they have had their bye.
Hey Derek, once I do Retschko > Pod I have 228k ITB and if I do another downgrade can certainly afford a Heeney/Smith. My plan was to get Smith after Geelongs bye next week but unsure if that’s the best way to go about it
