  1. In knock-out final, 1 trade left, obviously must win to progress

Worth trading Xerri out to a better scorer at $520k, leaving me no trades

Thoughts would be Gulden or Bowie

    TU: Smart
    TD: Dumb

  3. Got 2 rookies on field to trade out – fitzergerald and francou. Should I trade out Durham or will he still score well. I can use money for bont but then I won’t have much for rookies. If I downgrade one rookie I can get don’t with the other

Tu: focus on rookies to upgrade to boot
    Td: Durham to continue
Comment: any other strong mids pls

  4. In a 50/50 qualifying final – 4 trades left.
Was going to upgrade/downgrade HHK & Fitzgerald until the news about Callaghan came through.
    Current plan is:
Callaghan & HHK to Rankine & McCluggage.
    TU: Good
    TB: Bad, think again.

  5. Last trade, what to do (either way, will leave me 2 premos short)

TU – trade Callaghan to best mid I don’t have. Leaves me with Herbert or Fitzgerald on field as well as HKK or Annand
TD – trade Holmes to best def I don’t have. Will mean I have full premo defence, but will have to play Herbert and Fitzgerald.

I have no DPP flexibility, because stupid

    • 4 weeks ago i had HHK as my 23rd, and 4 trades left to upgrade him.

those 4 trades have been used on Butters, dale, Holmes and now Callaghan.

leave me with HHK still at D6

  7. Last trade going to replace callaghan, who has the better draw out of

T/U jordan dawson (ess, rich, freo gws)
T/d bailey smith (pies, ess, roos, rich)

Leaning towards smith but need to win this week, do the pies generally give away good midfield scores?

Normally The Pies do not tag and give up plenty to opposition mids…however young Ed Allan has been taking on the tag role recently and has done a very good job…Likely to go with Baz this week…Smithy is also likey to get Finn O when they play North…Nas WM did belt Finn last Round.
The Crows have a very good fixture with Ess and Tigers next 2…How juicy is that!!!…and the Cats a great home run…both fighting for a good finals spot so no likelihood of being managed before finals…
Baz by a Nose given Ess next week anf Tigers in round 24..

      • Thanks for the write up! Yeah im leaning towards Baz too. I think sometimes dawsons versatility hurts from an sc perspective, he can be thrown up forward or down back for a quarter.
Baz will be 100% midfield, i feel like he can slip the allan/FOS tags because like Nas, he is a running machine and im not sure if those two can go with him. Good thing he plays on the same team as mullin!

  8. Anyone have any idea of an approximate timeline that Nic Newman would be out for?

I know they have not given any yet but just if any experts know how long

    • i’ll probably do it. due to the timing of the games this week, There isn’t really any other players in the midfield to loop with herbert.

  9. 4 trades left (inc 1 boost) with full premo team but no Nas…

    TU: Callaghan + Holmes –> Baz + Stewart/Zorko/Bowey
TD: Callaghan + Holmes –> Baz + Nas + using boost to cash in Cumming

  10. Update on the previous thinking.
TU: as before, HHK & Callaghan to McCluggage & Rankine leaving 2 trades and 12K ITB
TD: Use a boost and go HHK, Callaghan, Fitzgerald to Gulden, Rankine & Peuker leaving 1 trade and 3K.
    Thanks team!

    • i assume you can’t loop them?

Just because it is Petracca against his old team, you have to put him on the field, surely he will have a big game.

  11. In a knockout final, 60/40 chance of winning. 1 trade left. Around $120k in the bank.

Can spare the trade if I think I can win and get to the next round.
Near full premo team except for Herbert at M6 and Lombard F6, and Butters sitting on the bench.

TU: Trade butters out for Gulden (or Washcroft) – leaves Lombard at F6.
TD: Trade butters (through DPP swap) out for Rankine (or Bailey/the Chad/Jagga?!) – leaves Herbert at M6.
Comment: If there’s anyone better to go to.

    Cheers all!

    • i’ve already got Smith, so its an easy trade to Ashcroft this week.

Don’t think they will rest Smith, Geelong ar 9th and need to keep winning

  12. is it worth using one of my last two trades to turn Josh Rachele into Rankine?
    TU: Do it
TD: Save the trade and get HHK out from D6

    • you have been very patient with Rachele, and he does have some nice games coming up, but so does Rankine. if that was me, i’d get Rankine if you can

    • that is a tough price-point. if you had another $50k you could get some very decent players.

at that range i’d be looking at Bruhn or Lawson Humphries. Cats have a soft run of games and someone has to fill the Holmes role

Roberts is an option, but i worry about his shoulder.

  14. 2 Trades remaining.
In the double chance position in all my leagues.

Want to give myself the best chance of winning this week, but also thinking ahead hopefully to SC finals.

Couple of soft spots in my team, and $82.5k in the bank.

Def – NWM, Mills, Sicily, Clark, Worrell, Short (Annand, Artemis)
Mid – Daicos, Bont, Neale, Smith, Dawson, Merrett, Anderson, Newcombe (Herbert, HHK, Fitzgerald)
    Ruck – Gawn, Jackson (Riley)
Fwd – Sheezel, JHF, Warner, K.Pickett, Miller, Petracca (L.Pickett, Banfield)

    Issues –
I have no way of looping in good Mid bench scores like Herbert last week.
Short / Miller / Petracca are a bit hit or miss.

I am stuck in 3 minds-
    1. Hold, no trades, wait for carnage to hit then use the trades and if neccessary the depth.
    2. Upgrade 1 position either forward or defence with a player up to $82.5k more.
    3. Downgrade HHK to a non-playing rookie with multi positions, then upgrade Short / Miller or Petracca to an top Premium, whilst also opening up the option to loop in Herbert if he goes nuts.

Appreciate the thoughts, my current lean is towards option 1.

    Thanks
