      1. Yeah, I’ve always titled the Trade Talk threads after the round that’s just passed but, you’re right, it is a little weird. Hmm.

Will be odd when we’re in Round 24 but will edit now lol.

  1. Since i haven’t copped a LTI this round I am not really sure what to do.
    Probably do nothing.
No premos to replace, cows have a bit more fattening to go and nor is there a plethora of rookies screaming pick me.

  2. Yep Shaggi, same here this week, and the previous two weeks as well. Except missed that Witts was out again, so got Ryan’s score. Missing a few top premos going ballistic, not so fun, but holding fire while cows fatten up so I can upgrade instead of going sideways. See if short term pain pays off down the track.

  3. Currently ranked in the top 1%.
Thinking of upgrading this week, early thoughts however..

    Chandler > Williams
    Ginbey > Wagner
    Mackenzie > Touk Miller

    Tu or Td

    11

    16
    1. Wagner not ideal after 1 game however if I want to upgrade I need to make a double downgrade. Other option is to hold off and wait a week.

  4. DEF – Dawson, Daicos , Ginbey
    McKenna, Wilmot, Cowan
    (Chesser, constable)
MID – Laird, Bont, LDU, Green, Hopper
    Worpel, Ashcroft, Baker
    (Mackenzie, philipou, long)
    RUCK – Grundy, Marshall (madden)
FOR – Dunks, Taranto, Rozee, Gulden
    Ziebell, Sheezel
    ( Greene, Davey)
31 trades $117k in bank. Trade thoughts?

  5. Few big decisions this week with rookies stalling cash generation and some actually going to lose money with not too many on the horizon either. Well very few with decent scoring potential and JS.

Bytel, Mackenzie and ginbey all facing the axe this week. Hopefully one is dropped to stem the bleeding for atleast one week. Might be 2 down 1 up. I need cogs or Laird in.

  6. Def – Stewart, Daicos, day, McKenna, Wilmot, Cowan (ginbey, constable )
Mid- Oliver, laird, bont, green, setterfield, hopper, Ashcroft, Hollands (McKenzie, Chesser, baker)
    Ruc- Marshall, Witts (madden)
Fwd- Dunkley, Taranto, rozee, ziebell, shezzel, f.Greene (Ryan, van rooyen)

Got $101k in the bank with 3 boosts and 28 trades what should be the plan this week?

    1. Might be worth it to at least hold one of them. Both are more than capable of reaching their BEs, they’ve both scored past their current BE scores and couple of times each so far.

If Mackenzie is the sub like last week, then ditch him. Only issue is a big lack of mid rookies on the bubble

      11

      1
      1. Anyone know much about the JS for these two?

Roberts the sub in rds 1-3, didnt play rd 4, with their injuries he might get more opportunity? Not confident. 93 tasty though.

Williams looks an OK pick for the bench. Will he keep his spot

        1

        1
  7. Mackenzie > Roberts is a given.

I’m hesitant on downgrading Ginbey due to the lack of options we have currently.

    1. Any move currently feels rushed and I don’t feel the need to burn a trade and a cow who hasn’t fattened yet just so I can pull off an upgrade.

      1

      0
      1. Mitchell only has the one game played and I don’t know enough about Williams’ JS. Ginbey’s BE is projected to swing back to 43 next week, he could still generate another $60K or so.

A potential mid to fallen premo upgrade is Setters>Cogs.

Another potential premo to super premo is Green>Miller IF he gets rubbed out for multiple weeks.

        4

    2. I think Ginbey will have a rest as mentioned by his coach last week. Hopefully MacKenzie had his rest on the bench and gets a full game next week

    1. Looks like a coin toss then. If I go with Dawson then Oliver will do better. If I go with Oliver then Dawson will do better. If I decide who I want and then deliberately choose the other then I will still get it wrong. That is how the SC multiverse works!

  8. much better week this week , moving up the rankings. Not sure if I want to keep on being aggressive or slow it down though.

    TU: Ginbey > Roberts

TD: Ginbey, Ashcroft, Baker > Roberts, Johnson (or any other rookie), Touk

    6

    8
  9. Triple Downgrade
    OUT: Ginbey, Mackenzie & Chandler
    IN: Roberts, Johnson & Williams
Leaves me with $481,800 for a double upgrade next week.

    TU: Yay
    TD: Nay

  10. Ginbey and Mackenzie to Roberts and Miller.
Fall 20K short of Dawson and 10K short to Neale but touk has the better bye round. Good move?

    22

  11. I’ve noticed Lloyd is making a bit of a resurgence, averaging 106 at 533k

Is he worth picking up, or should I stick with Tom Stewart?

    14

    1
    1. I really like the look of him, seems to have cemented his spot in the Adelaide side, with a sub score of 33 from 9 touches in 30% TOG and scores of 94 and 116 from 21 and 28 touches respectively off half-back and a wing, so it’s not a once off.
Is there risk associated? Of course, as with all midpriced picks
The downside is he’s never averaged more than 50 before (i.e. unproven), however with a BE of -31 and playing in a good side, I reckon he’s worth a shout and should be a good stepping stone.

    TU – Yes

    TD – No

  14. Hey guys would love some advice
Currently sitting at the 2k mark after 2400 for the round looking to keep climbing. This week going to go mckenzie to roberts which leaves me with 28 trades. Could go aggressive and use a boost to also get rid of ginbey and baker for Johnson/Williams or any rookie rly and Caleb Serong who is looking more and more like a top 8-10 mid. Worried about using the boost but thinking it’s better to use them earlier on for upgrading anyway

TU: Simple Mckenzie to Roberts (166k in bank, 28 trades 4 boosts)
TD: Mckenzie, Ginbey, Baker > Roberts, johnson, Serong (26 trades 3 boosts)

    8

    7
  15. Unsure what trades to make with team below:

Def: Dawson, Daicos, Stewart, Ridley, Ginbey, McKenna (wilmot, Cowan)

Mid: Clarry, bont, green, setters, hopper, Ashcroft, Phillips, mackenzie (phillipou, Davey, baker)

    Ruck: Grundy, Marshall (madden)

Fwd: dunks, Taranto, rozee, Sheezel, chandler, Bruce (Greene, Ryan)

Currently 1310 rank with $197,700 in bank.

4 boosts remaining with 28 trades.

Thinking of using a boost with Bruce, Mackenzie & ginbey to Roberts, Williams and touk but unsure any ideas welcome!

    Cheers.

    1. General thoughts

You’re doing pretty well so just maintain the value of a trade. If you trade down do it to players you like.

If you trade up try and maintain 1 up 1 down

  16. So what’s the go with roberts? Sub in his first 3 games? And now with injuries has more time on field? What position was he playing over the weekend didn’t have time to watch. Thanks

  17. High rank.
Don’t want to burn my good rookies so thinking about doing a boost and bringing in Cogs or Luke Jackson

TU do it they’re just bench rookies
    TD just wait it out

    11

    2
      1. Already have cogs, my fwd line is fine id say, only one i dont have is zeibell but im not 100% on him maintaining his role. The def fallen premo i dont have is sinclair.

  19. More important priority:
TU: Ridley to Dawson/Daicos – Premo to Uber premo
TD: Ginbey to Sinclair / Lloyd – 1 less rookie on field

I feel like points on field will be similar

    2

    14
  20. Which is more important
TU: One simple downgrade for upgrades next week
TD: Using a boost to get a fallen premo like cogs or Sinclair this week

    1

    8
  21. A. Brayshaw (Freo) has been a blight on my mids. He’s my M4 with only Holmes, Hopper and rookies behind him. It’s pretty bleak.

Do I pull the trigger to bring in Dawson or hold?

  22. Did the Mackenzie to Brockman trade before the hawks game yesterday so current rookies are ok to hold for another weekend of footy.

Big question I have is trading Tom Green and Sicily to other premos? Both are not performing at all, particularly Green. Second year straight we’ve all been suckered in. Currently ranked in top 5k – top 700 score this weekend so feeling like I should go aggressive.

    TU: Green, Sicily -> Bont/Oliver & Stewart
TD: Leave it and have patience
ITB: $171,000 and 29 trades left with 3 boosts

    Cheers!

      1. That first round 134 is keeping his avg at 107.9

        100, 106, 99 and 97. That’s no great and he didn’t ton up yesterday.

His lost money, so yes he is underperforming compared to his expectations and rest of the mids in SC.

Not underperforming at AFL level I must add.

        10

        6
        1. fair enough my mistake he was a few points off, still think thats performing well though, lachie neale was scoring flat hundreds every week until the most recent now hes averaging 120 odd, the high ceiling and low floor is what makes them a premium mid imo

    1. I’ve had him all year
He’s a far cry from the Macrae of old, and I highly doubt he’ll be a top 10 midfielder
I’ve heard rumours he’s carrying a rib injury, but from what I’ve seen the fact that he’s not a primary centre bounce midfielder (Bont, Libba, Treloar are preferred, Macrae averaging 51% CBAs), and he struggles to run out games, massively fading in the second half against both the Lions and the Power after being on track for massive scores.
As an owner, I have bigger problems, but I certainly wouldn’t bring him in.

    1. Not enough people bought the supercoach gold or whatever it’s called so they are making the filter elements and the ability to switch between lines during trades a supercoach gold only feature.
Beware of buying the the gold/plus/whatever though coz heraldscum will auto bill you until you cancel your card or close the account regardless of how many times you turn off/cancel auto billing.

  40. Can anyone provide advice on how to manage the byes?
I just used the bye planner and have a lot of premos from Round 15. Should I be looking at reducing that number?
It will impact my decision on getting Gulden or Coniglio this week.

    2

    0
    1. Traditionally, you would try to spread your byes across your team so that you had as many players playing each week as you could (you could bump up those numbers by planning to bring premos in the week after they had their bye).

There’s been a couple extra strategies floating around though. One was tank one of the three bye weeks to focus on having the best performance in the other two weeks. Another, and one I might try personally this year, is a scorched earth strategy where you disregard byes and just aim to bring in the best premos for the best price, regardless of bye. I look forward to scoring 1200 points 3 weeks in a row.

Another thing to remember is only your best 18 scores count in the big three bye rounds (don’t know if that applies to the small bye this year) so having 19 premos play in one bye week is technically a waste.

      Best of luck!

    1. My other option is keep Cowan on field this week
So I lose the points difference between him and Butters/Heeney
If Cowan gets dropped I would have to make the trade or cop a donut
Then next week I can upgrade to anybody with another trade

  52. Hi all,

With the suspensions on Caminiti, I’m considering boosting for the first time with these trades.

    OUT: Ginbey, Caminiti + Mackenzie

IN: Seamus Mitchell, Matt Roberts + Jack Ziebell

Leaves me with 120k in cash with Mitchell + Roberts on the bench. Might change this thought process if any rookies are named to debut, but gives me Dawson, Daicos, Stewart and Ziebell in my defence. Also allows me to eventually flip Kade Chandler + Judd McVee in my midfield and fwd line to premos.

    T/U: Good trades
    T/D: You’re dumb, don’t do that

    8

    1
  53. TU: Simple Mackenzie to roberts downgrade
TD: use a boost to go Mackenzie, Ginbey, baker > Roberts, Johnson, Sinclair/Cogs

    2

  54. Thoughts on these changes?

    OUT: Ginbey, Mackenzie, Baker
IN: Dawson, Roberts, Cincotta (If selected)

If Cincotta not selected, Chandler out instead of Baker and Wagner / Warner instead of Cincotta.

Wiil leave 27 trades and 3 boosts.

    TD; Don’t

  55. Huge amount of people down-voting anything related to bringing C.Jones in.
    Any reasons for this??

Low BE of -31 and scores of 93 & 116, genuinely interested in why so many people are staying away. Am quite tempted myself.

    Can anyone elaborate?

    1. Im a big crows fan and he honestly has never shown the potential other than in flashes for a pick 9.

However, saying that Im jumping on board he has cleaned up his ball use significantly, tackling harder & god he honestly is fighting for his contract. (contract yr)

Will make more cash than any of the rookies atm & the good ones have only played one week. IMO go for it!

      4

      0
    2. What’s the plan though? 300k player at this stage of the season is just whack.

      Early upgrades, rookie refreshing.

I’m not a fan at all but even if I was now is the time to net premiums, not take flyers on never before consistent or SC relevant dice rolls.

Admire the unique thinking and guts though. Goodluck, boys.

      4

      5
      1. Understand your point but what is going to net you more money & good score over the next 4 weeks.

Would you rather Roberts who may get dropped/subbed with any in’s

Or a bloke who has shown a high ceiling in the form of his life & potential to make you the same $ as the rookie whilst also being playable? (-31 BE, with scores of 80 makes your 100k in 3 weeks and easy upgrade to prem)

It’s a risk I agree but no more than a flyer on Roberts (if it was next week with Williams and S.Mitch on the bubble than I probably wouldnt)

    3. An average of 85 which seems a reasonable baseline will see him make $129k by the Crows bye, which isn’t the worst cash gen. You would need some more spike scores to really get the cash gen pumping.

  56. Why is no one talking about de goey?
Finally getting the midfield minutes and breaking out like people have been waiting for for 3-4 years and now no one is touching him.. do people not think he will keep it up?

    TD: de goey . $511k

Looking for value this week to get sic, cogs, day or Sinclair next week i Could afford touk this week but then miss out on the blokes next week as touk bleeds all my cash

  59. Is this too crazy?
    OUT-Ginbey, mackenzie, Tom Green
IN – Roberts, Butters, De Goey

    T/U go for it
    T/D don’t do it

    1

    20
  60. I plan on Zig’ing when everyone zag’ing with none of the rookies doing it for me

    OUT: Ginbey, Chandler, Cmack

TU: Chayce Jones, Ziebell, Cincotta (limited $)
    TD: Jones, Hopper, Roberts

My logic is Jones/Hopper/Ziebell will make just as much money as these poor rookies whilst giving me much better on-field scores and zieball/hopper may even be keepers.

    2

    2
  61. T/U – 3 trades for Bont this week @ 611k with the intention of 2 trades (Ridley + rookie) into Touk next week (risking that he may blow out to 650k if he destroys North despite a BE of 112).

T/D – 3 trades for Touk this week and aim for cheaper premos in the coming weeks.

    4

    2
  62. Coniglio t/u
    Sinclair t/d

Got the position flexibility and the funds to get either one (although Sinclair would leave the kitty pretty empty).

    Cheers!

  63. Hi again,
Have Mitch Duncan who gat 34 and will lose 34K
Could trade to Zeibel or upgrade to Dawson…

  64. Dawson, Daicos, H Andrews, Ginbey, McKenna, Wilmot (Cowan, Constable)
Oliver, Laird, LDU, Pendles, Ashcroft, Hollands, Mackenzie, Green (Baker, Chesser, Phillipou)
    English, Marshal (Madden)
Dunkley, Sheezel, Taranto, Rozee, Ziebel, Chandler (Davey, Van Roo)

TU Ginbey, Mackenzie, Baker —> Roberts, Mitchell, Neale (leaves a few bench doughnuts but gets an uber-premo)

TD Not worth the 3 trades and leaves the team with little cover if Roberts and Mitchell get dumped

  65. T/U – Settefield & Mackenzie to Roberts & Laird
    T/D – Mackenzie & Ginbey to Roberts & Cogs

  66. Already doing 2 trades this week:
    1. Bazlenka > Laird
    2. Mackenzie > Roberts

    TU: Just these 2 trades
TD: Boost to also trade Ginbey > Williams (cash gen)

Is this worth wasting a boost on?

    5

    4
  67. The factors of having no money for upgrades, Saads non specific injury timeframe, and his high B/E, is enticing me to do 3 trades again this week.
    Saad, Ginbey, MacKenzie & $21k ITB >> Dawson, M. Roberts, D. Williams & $250k ITB
Takes me from 28 trades down to 25 trades.
Gives me premo structure of 4,5,2,4 but that includes Sheezel, Setterfield, Hopper, Grundy, Rozee & Gulden.

T/U – Looks good, Dawson is a gun.
T/D – Saad is going to be top 6 DEF average, trade out Setters instead.

  69. TU: Baker to Cogs – keep Ginbey.

  70. Do I use second boost for the season, and go

Ginbey, Mackenzie, Baker -> Lloyd/Sinclair, Roberts, Williams

Who is more of a priority?
Lloyd/Sinclair (my backline is starving a bit)
    OR
    Cogs

  71. Hi Guys
    Thoughts on trades?
    Miller or Dawson?

    Option 1
Out: Merrett – Gimbey – Chandler
    In: Miller / Dawson – D. Williams – Ziebell

Ideally id like to keep Merrett but have a must win league game i cant risk it.
(Still cant believe he got a week for that tackle, one of the fairest blokes in the game)

Currently my Premos in the back are (almost all 4 premos :))
    daicos – Ryan – Ridley – Llyod

    Mid: Laird, Bont, Oliver,

    Fwd: Sheezel, Gulden, Dunkley, Rozee

  72. Will be using a boost I think this week, to get a premium in. Mackenzie & Ginbey at this stage, plus one of these two (even though they still have money to make)

    TU : Chandler – AV 73 BE 47 & maybe getting tired?
    TD : L Jones – AV 56, BE 31 and coming off a 88 in R5.

Otherwise might just do Mackenzie & Ginbey to Roberts & Williams and bank the cash for next week.

    2

  73. Currently running with 3 rookies onfield in my backline, plus L Jones, Daicos & Sicily.
My midfield (when Green is back from suspension) has 2 onfield rookies.
I’m bringing in a premium this week –

TU : T Stewart – my backline needs help but he’s projected to cost less next week, and I can’t afford Dawson without doing something crazy
TD : T Miller – probably at the lowest he’ll be for awhile. And R13 bye is nice.

    3

  74. Still so hurt that I missed the late Witts out a couple weeks ago (for a donut) and could’ve pivoted to English. Then didn’t listen to the thumbs last week and brought Gulden in instead of the Witts pivot! Time to type some crazy options to cope!

TU: Witts, JHF, Mackenzie -> English, Sinclair, Cincotta/Drury
TD: Tom Green, Witts, Mackenzie -> Touk, English, Williams/Roberts

    Comment: Something reasonable

  76. I’m looking to use my first boost this week…

    Option A – TU
    Out: Ginbey, Caminiti, Mackenzie
    Ins: Roberts, Williams, Touk

Option A wipes out my bank.

    Option B – TD
    Out: Caminiti, Mackenzie, Green
    In: Roberts, Van Rooyen, Miller

Option B leaves me with $187k in the kitty for future upgrades

    Cheers legends!

  78. Like a lot of others I need some CG and Roberts appears to be the most popular trade in target. If he doubles his 2nd highest score for the season and scores 54 against cats this week he’ll increase by about 34k if he matches his 2nd highest score he’ll increase by about 22k. If he gets back to back 60 v. cats and giants he’ll increase by about 80k over next 2 weeks.
    His TOG this year-12%, 26%, 20%, DNP, 70%
Yeah the 1st 3 games he was sub and if not for injuries he may have been sub again last week. Pretty sure that without injuries he and cWarner will share the sub vest. Personally I want to see how Roberts goes against a good team before I risk a trade on him he might get smashed by the cats at Geelong and spit out another 4 instead of 60. Keep in mind Longmires idiosyncrasies and recall the great migration to Gulden after a single good game early this year

If williams (v. Eagles) matches his worst score he will increase by about 44k, if he scores his 2 game average (scored v. swans & dogs) he’ll increase by about 46k. If he maintains his 57 ave against eagles & saints he will increase by about 80k over next 2 weeks.
    His TOG 75%, 78%
Williams has a very high K:HB ratio and against the eagles he could easily double his previous high.

My season is cooked already, I’m 102,000 positions lower than I was this time last year so I will go against the mob and get Williams.

  81. So confused on what to do. Don’t have Dawson and or English. Ranked 2.4K (1%) and with below trades left with 25

    TU – go for gold
TD – dumb, stick to leagues

  85. DEF – Dawson, Daicos, Stewart, Ginbey, McKenna, Wilmot (Cowan, Constable)
MID – Oliver, Macrae, Merrett, Green, Hopper, Ashcroft, Mackenzie. Phillips (Baker, Davey, Rowston)
    RUC – English, Marshall (Madden)
FWD – Dunkley, Taranto, Coniglio, Ziebell, Sheezel, Phillipou (Greene, Caminiti)

    27 trades left/ $24k remaning

Merrett, Green and Caminiti suspended, with Mackenzie and Ginbey around the financial peak.

Not sure what should do here. Don’t want to get rid of Merrett or Green, plus I feel getting rid of MacKenzie and Ginbey is a bit rushed

I’m not trading in Roberts, because he’s been the sub three times this years, who’s to say he won’t be made the sub again this week regardless of his decent score, not risking it. And now Dylan Williams has been omitted, and Seamus Mitchell is on the extended bench with Maginness and Scrimshaw to come back in for the Hawks.

  95. I think I’m just gonna do these two trades

    Caminiti – Roberts
    Mackenzie – Johnson

I don’t think I should off Ginbey just yet. I think he’s more likely to reach his BE for one. Secondly I don’t feel safe wasting my third boost trade to downgrade him, because I simple don’t have enough to upgrade him to a proper premo. The best I could do is either Baker or Lloyd, but I don’t think I can call them premos yet. They’ve had a good start but we’re only 5 rounds in.

    What do you guys think?

TU: Use boost trade to do Ginbey > Baker or Lloyd
TD: Save the trade, need the boosts for the bye rounds

  96. Hey everyone!

Trying to get Dawson in my team. This is the trade I’m looking at. Leaves me with 26 trades/3 boosts.

Mackenzie, Ginbey, Gulden -> Johnson, Roberts, Dawson

I understand Gulden doesn’t have to go but I’m losing so many points to not having Dawson.

    TU: Do it!
    TD: Double downgrade is enough

    Thanks!
    Julian
