Duck: Goodes for me, Eagling.
Eminem: should i put goodes or terlich on field this week? (assuming both play)
MJ: Right you are Eagling. I'll be giving a rundown on each of those midfield delights in The Fallen Premiums to be released Monday.
Eagling: Goddard, Heppell, Birchall,Gibbs, Goodes, Terlich, Thurlow and Laird are my defenders (Pittard out for Thurlow). If Gibbs returns, Birchall's dreadful form might see him relegated to the pine seeing as Terlich is in such good form, and Thurlow and Goodes are scoring nicely....
See, Grant Birchall. When premiums like yourself do not perform you addle the minds of Supercoaches like myself.
Eagling: Personally, my cash cows aren't mature enough to cull/I don't have the funds, but there are some value picks in the middle now and coming up. Jobe Watson, Marc Murphy, Joel Selwood, Dane Swan, Gary Ablett, Brett Deledio, Josh P. Kennedy and Brent Harvey...A smorgasboard of Supercoach delights.
Eagling: 3/5 Leagues I'm in ranked in top 100. LoeC1 leads the way at 24.
Catta: LoEC1 sitting solid at 24th overall.....:)
Catta: SCTalltheway2013 league has moved up to be the 64th best league out of 31,130.....gr8 effort guys for a league put together from the SCT community at the 11th hour........go us
MelbourneTrackClub: We're open!
Brods: Hadn't heard of this 'Supercoach' Paige before you gave her some airtime just now... sounded like you hit a sore point there!

Trying to get cover for the first 2 byes and will be taking a dive in Rd.13. This seems to be a popular theory and if the majority of coaches go this way it wont hurt too bad, but if I’m up against someone who is not doing this, oh well, so I lose a game. Hopefully this wont make too much difference in the grander scheme of things, as far as a league win goes anyway.

How many trades are people willing to make to ensure they don’t end up with too many donuts throughout the bye rounds or will you just suck it up and only trade based on week by week injuries/bad form?
Thinking can limit bye round damage by using about 8 trades between now and then.

Here is my secret for the Byes….Close your eyes and they will go away. According to the strict rules of the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, if you can’t see them then they can’t see you. I’m gunna close my eyes reeeeeaaaaaly tight otherwise it is gunna get really ugly.

Hard enough to get a full side on the park for this round
I’ll keep an eye on how many players I have for each bye, but I’m building a side for the finals, don’t mind if I lose a bye round

If I wasn’t so bloody busy in the real world I’d be a lot more upset about all of my fantasy footy teams stinking to high heaven this year. Bye strategies? I’ll worry about them when i can actually score something remotely resembling a decent score.

I fully expect any bye strategy plans to be thrown out the window, just like my “no sideways trades”, “no mid price players” and “save my trades” policies

I’m thinking we should get a petition to Supercoach and bring back the extra bench players

Nice graphic on who’s got the byes when but aren’t they in rd’s 11,12,13 not 12,13,14?

Put a heap of thinking into it over the off season and I think I am almost set for the byes…. apart from ablett and fyfes injury and porpas late withdrawl last week all seems to be going to plan.
B: Lake Bugg / Heppell Broughton / Goddard Deledio /
Tomlinson Clarke Morris
M: Boyd McDonald / Pendles Selwood / Murphy Hayes
Shiel Magner
R: Giles / Sandi / Kreuzer
Big O
F: Dangerfield Porplyzia / Sidebottom Christensen / Franklin Martin
Treloar Smedts Hall
Would love to hear your thoughts on my approach…
I also have 20 trades remaining with only little in the kitty

That seems to be the standard approach mate – not having any more than two prem’s in any one line having the same bye. You’re set up well to make good ground during the byes.
I’m looking at having enough cash to complete 3 upgrades after rd 11, then 2up/1down after 12 and 13 from premiums that have had their bye in the previous rd.

Taking a dive in Round 12, both because I initially had more players from those teams and because those teams (Geelong, Collingwood, Fremantle, Sydney, Hawthorn, Essendon) have more attractive premiums than the teams bye-ing it up in R11 & 13.
Malceski and Mitchell to come in over the next two weeks to go with Kennedy, Selwood, Pendles, Barlow, Buddy, etc. All R12 bye guys, and all players you’d probably want in your team anyway.

My bad, not sure why I was including Hawks players in that group!

Malceski coming in???
Aren’t you worried about his durability? You’d be better off with Grundy if you’re wedded to a Sydney player.

Not right away, giving him a chance to prove the sub-out on the weekend wasn’t anything serious before making a move. But he’s earmarked as a potential in.

No plan, just going to work out what to do when the time comes, haven’t had any donuts yet, so if I get a few during the byes it won’t fuss me so much as many people have already had some over the last few weeks. It’s hard to know what to do now with many players being upgraded by then and your side changing a fair bit, obviously I will make a few trades during the bye rounds to minimize donuts and stuff but I’m not going in with a specific ‘strategy’

Nope – hard enough as it is to make good picks. Injuries will continue to be Hell. What happens during the byes stays during the byes …

DamenS, if you don’t prepare, the byes are going to be a whole new hell. You’ll be in for a world of pain. Hope you have a few wins on the board by then.
