Game Chat – Saturday Night Football, R23 2014

Written by Big Sexy on August 30 2014

North Melbourne v Melbourne (ES):  The Kanga’s come up against the league cellar dwellers in the final home and away game of the season.  The Kanaga’s have rested a few and the Demons just have nothing to loose…. Will a plea for ‘something’ from their former champion and captain Gary Lyon on the footy show fall on def ears?  Kanga’s by 32

Geelong v Brisbane (SS):  The mighty cats need to win this if they are to nail a top 3 finish and firm up a Cats v Hawks first final.  The cats have rested quite a few, and again the Lions have nothing to lose and everything to prove.  Cats by 17

  8. I took my chance against the Supercoach Gods, using all trades three weeks ago…..

Note to self – never take on the Supercoach Gods…..

Limped into the GF – overall rank <825

    Backs – L McDonald, L Hodge, J Bews
    Mids – N Fyfe, D Beames, JP Kennedy, D Zorko, T Rockliff, Z O'Brien
    Rucks – F Thurlow
    Forwards – S Motlop, L Franklin, B Harvey, S Kersten

VC – Pendles (who churned out his worst performance for year) with C on T Rockliff and problem with Internet after hearing he was out……

I graciously accept my fate and will never attempt to take on the SC Gods again.

  13. ZAC. O’BRIEN. Might’ve won a couple of finals for me! Exceptional effort, lad.

Also a big shoutout to McCarthy of the Cats – whom I have held all season – filling in for Zorks with a respectful 56. Currie with a 90 also!

Round 23: the round of the rookies?!

  14. Ahh these last minute outs are making me weigh up the stress vs enjoyment of supercoach going into the future. Missing Murphy, Franklin, Zorko and Rockliff (Captain) has turned what I thought was going to be a comprehensive win into a depressing defeat. Oh well, I’ll still be back next year. Thanks SCT!

  16. Going to take Selwood’s score through the loophole therefore have to play either Dahlhaus (TU) or Tex Walker (TD). Cheers.
